I say Mars is an ideal Junket for Congressmen. They love to travel I say give them the trip of their lifetimes. They spend so much money here it's gotta be cheaper just to send them to Mars where they can do some good and a lot less harm.
Downloads were affecting DVD sales not box office. Ironically it was DVD sales that were hurting box office numbers because a lot of people wait for films to come out on DVD now. The reason they jumped on downloading before it became a major problem is they took a lesson from the record companies. The record companies only took action after it started to seriously affect sales. They were too late and lots of people got used to just downloading instead of buying so their numbers have dropped steadily ever since. Bandwidth is slowing movie downloads but that will change. Film revenues have been shaky so they are trying to keep from facing the same fate as the record companies. All entertainment companies are having to change how they market and sell products.
Why are the people that created a game evil when they defend their creation but some one that exploits the creation a white hat? They aren't even giving it away they're making 25K a month in ad revenue. Is the point that the owners or creators shouldn't be able to benefit only the ones that want to exploit some one else's work? It just seems every time the creators/owners are viewed as being unreasonable and the people taking advantage of their creation are viewed as striking a blow for liberty. Multiple people complain that you can't copyright rules but then are games impossible to copyright? I know only artwork blah blah blah, but then what about music or films? The companies making this stuff available are making money off the products. People selling DVDs in south east Asia are making money off the cheap DVDs but they didn't create the content. How can you ever hope to make a living if everyone is allowed to endless copy your work? Yes I know big evil corporation like Mattel. Say I come up with a Textris type game? Some one comes up with an identical game called Buttress that looks a little different but plays the same. They have more resources so they flood the market and I declare bankruptcy. Now am I evil because I maybe tried to sue them? If they're making money off my game design then why are they potentially the good guys? Rules are one thing but with Scrabble it's the game design. I doubt it's a whole new game design it sounds like they just did a Scrabble game and called it Scrabbulous. Okay obvious name conflicts but would it be any better if they called it Wordz? It's still a knock off. I guess you could do a version of Monopoly and call it Microsoft then you could have two companies suing you at once for the same product.
Programmers that have to adapt their code to take in account daylight savings time. They get more work out of the deal. Kind of the Y2K effect. I live in the one state with the sense to ignore it, Arizona. Perception is everything and if there's a perceived benefit it won't change. The real problem is you aren't changing the day length all you are doing is moving the extra daylight from the morning to evening. When I lived in a state with daylight savings I always found it annoying because one day I'm getting up after the sun is up then suddenly the next day I'm getting up and it's still dark. All it does is throw off body clocks and cost productivity until people adapt then in six months they go through the same mess. It's interesting that it actually costs power but there's little doubt it costs money and productivity so it's a pointless exercise.
Apple gets heat because their products lack a few features that people want where as Microsoft releases two dogs, Vista and the new Office, and they largely get a pass. Yes there's some complaints but nothing like the venom Apple gets. The primary argument seems, "yes they're cool but they could be cooler so Apple sucks". Bizarre logic. The three biggest complaints on iPhone have been it's bundled to AT&T, no SDK at launch and no 3G. Well they addressed the SDK in under nine months which is reasonable, not sure on the 3G or unbundling but remember AT&T was the only one that would deal. They were releasing a very expensive product so they had to release it a bit differently than the other phones. A lot of people are blasting Macbook Air because gee there's a PC version that is thicker, heavier and a lot more expensive that has more features. Ah, dah, that shouldn't even require a response. Apple TV? Well name one system of that type that has succeeded? Microsoft isn't exactly burning up the market with their attempts either. It seems to be a device that no one has ever launched a decent product so it's hard to single them out. At least they are trying and no one is making you buy one. The biggest complaints seem to be people are frustrated because they WANT to buy the products but there are specific features they want and they're pissed Apple doesn't have them yet. Name one product that peaked at launch? Over all they release usable innovative products that have driven the market in new directions. If they piss you off don't buy them. I'm not an Apple or PC guy I'm a heretic but I have to say Apple hardware is sweet on average. It's more expensive but here's a 411, it always has been. There have been some defects but in general they release quality hardware. If there's a product that more suits your needs buy it. Some how I think Apple will soldier on. Set aside all religious preferences, which is more likely to release an innovative OS or product next, Apple or Microsoft? I'm waiting on the next gen iPhones but I'll probably grab a Touch soon. Macbook Air? I've got no interest because all I care about is power and if it has to weigh 20lbs I'll deal but I'm not their target audience and neither are devoted PC users. Apple TV? Not interested and I never was. Not all products will suit everyone. At least give them some credit for trying to break the mold. I can't stand Crackberries and most buttoned smart phones are just as bad to me. I'd have to find some one 18" tall to text for me. I have big fingers and don't even like Mac keyboards so I'd rather go with an iPhone where I have a fighting chance.
Last time I got 8 hours of sleep I was three and mom was late with my triple shot of expresso in a sippy cup. She didn't make that mistake again. Talk about cranky babies.
Don't you know that if you get seated near the front of the plane you get there sooner so the first ones seated get there first. I thought everyone knew that.
When faced with new and strange technology first
A) Strike with hand, grunt and run away.
B) Strike with rock, grunt and run away.
C) Strike with club, grunt and run away.
D) If first three methods fail strike passenger with club, grunt and run away.
Are you sure? Do you think you get all those Viagra and big dick ads by accident?
What drugs?
What water supplies?
And how can I buy some of the water?

Just mark the return ticket April 1st 2130. What are the odds he'll look at the return date before he leaves?

"although I personally wouldn't know a Trent Reznor song from a Barry Manilow song"
:)"
"I guarentee that if I played you one of each you would know the difference
Yeah, one is dark, morbid and disturbing, then there's Trent Reznor's music.

The best format doesn't always loose out. Check out the history of NTSC vs PAL and VHS vs Beta.
I thought apes, monkeys and humans evolved from lawyers. Ya learn something new every day.

Do you know what a hassle it is to reset my sun dial twice a year? And you thought you're digital clocks were a pain to reset.

The Democrats should consider rolling their coins so maybe they can win one.

You mean some people get 6 or 7 hours of sleep a night? I guess we are turning into a country of slackers.

The scary thing is we're talking second generation virgins now.
