Also Mac security is constantly bashed in spite of the rarity of in the wild attacks. Mac fans seem comfortable and happy with their OS and hardware overall where as Microsoft fans seem to always be attacking Mac or defending Microsoft. I use both I just find Mac has far fewer hassles. It's more stable and secure, the proof is in the using. I buy a computer to use software not tinker with the OS.

I've had nothing but grief with anti virus software on my PCs. I've run my Mac for nearly 2 years without a single problem including Adware/Malware. I've got five PCs and one Mac and thus far the Mac is the only one problem free. "Well ya never know" isn't a practical reason when I face hassles and performance issues using anti virus on a machine that has near zero risk of infection. I keep getting this feeling the PC community wants Macs to get infected so they'll feel better about their PCs. There are hundreds of millions of PC viruses in the wild. Even if Macs start getting infected they'll have a long way to be a 1/100th the problem it is with PCs. Low market share is also a pointless excuse. What was the most virus prone computer ever made? An Amiga, and they never had a large market share. Why so many viruses? It was easy to write and spread them on an Amiga. People don't write viruses for PCs instead of Macs because PCs are more popular it's because it's easier. Nearly 15% market share is a huge number and still no major in the wild virus hits? Deal with it Macs are very secure compared to PCs.

A wolverine has one of the worst temperments on the planet and they are the only animal of that size that can back down a Grizzly Bear. Granted they are tough but a Wolverine the size of a horse would be like a rabid grizzly bear on crack. Personally I'd rather try to ride a grizzly bear. They're a lot friendlier.

To avoid any confusion with Leopard they made the letters VISTA really big on the background screen. This is a major advance over the smaller lettering in the initial release. To help add a familiar feel they also brought back Clippy and increased the size of it's floating Window. To help the less computer literate Clippy looks sad when Vista finds incompatible software or hardware. When you activate Office Clippy gives you a big thumbs up and add a verbal, "Thanks for buying Microsoft". It's rumored he looks sad if you activate Open Office and gives a little reminder that a study run by Microsoft proves that open source software causes Erectile Dysfunction.

Sorry but I loose hours a week to deleting spam even with filters. Times that by all the computer users affected and it's a massive loss of time. Why should we loose millions of hours a week so he can hawk crap no one needs and 99% never respond to, he's playing a numbers game. Where in Sharia Law does it mention being locked in a cage with a rabid grizzly bear with a belly full of Viagra? Yes it's rediculous to execute the guy for cyber crime but the fact it was all done on a computer doesn't make it okay. Let's say he stole a 100 million dollars in productivity? Not as rediculous as it sounds it was likely far more. If he stole a 100 million in gold would you say it wasn't that big a deal? Saying it's not the same thing isn't realistic because companies are loosing hundreds of millions to the flood of spam. Slapping them on the wrist isn't going to make the spam go away. We have to get out of this mindset that anything that happens on a computer is inherently good. If he hacked the FAA and caused a couple of airliners to crash by accident would it just be an honest mistake? He wasn't hacking but he was doing bad things with computers and he made millions doing it. If you're worried about him send him a jar of lube and wish him well. Personally I think it would be justice if he got a cell with a guy that had been ripped off in one of his scams. It'd not only be justice but Karma as well.

  22. Pointless argument on MPAA Touts Record Year For Hollywood · · Score: 2, Interesting

No one is saying piracy is having a dramatic affect on film sales yet. It will eventually. Saying it never will is a silly argument because it's had a dramatic affect on music sales. The real point to make would be what would have film sales been without any piracy? It was 5% with piracy what if it was 7% without? 2% a tiny number? Actually no you're talking 200 million in looses if that was the case. Just look at South East Asia and China. Film sales are near zero inspite of US films being very popular. It's virtually a 100% pirated content. If people had to pay $20 instead of $1 or $2 there would be fewer films sold but still the industry is loosing hundreds of millions and conceivably billions in those markets to piracy. The whole argument itself is pointless because people that pirate don't want to change and the industry doesn't want to work for free so as piracy grows like in the music industry they either find another way to make money off films, in film commercials, product placement, etc, or they go out of business. I've yet to hear of another model that can support the industry so likely high budget films will die slowly over the next 20 years. They are preparing to spend hundreds of millions on 3D projection systems to try to hang onto box office growth but it's a desperation move and it won't save theatrical films in the long run. Take away the financial incentives for making movies and you're left with people in the midwest making Star Trek knock offs in their garages and rednecks running their bicycles into trees on Youtube for entertainment.

The disease theories don't take into account all the skull differences. I've seen lots of Erectus skulls and that was my gut reaction the first time I saw it. It looks like an Erectus child except it's an adult skull. No one has explained the differences in the teeth and that can't be caused by brain disease let alone brow and face differences. Pygmies look like regular humans. Flores didn't.
