You kidding? I could do some serious throat slashing with a severed plastic bottle! Not to mention they store more easily. You can crunch it up into a bag!
People will kill other people with papercuts. Banning things isn't going to help.
I'm no fan at all of the UK surveillance 'state', but I will say that to say it's not prevented anything or saved any lives is ludicrous. Of course it has. Try removing them and see what happens.
And two bad apples in the ambulance service doesn't mean it's a stinging rotten core. I can think of two dicks within the company I work for. Doesn't make it a bad company.
The UK's healthcare system is fine. If it wasn't for twats going there with colds and sniffles, which the UK spends far far too much time and money on, it would be a lot better.
Quit reading your Daily Mail.
We are the RIAA. Lower your firewalls and surrender your harddrives. We will add your bank balance and soul to our own. Your life will adapt to service us. Court cases are futile.
Etc.:)
Ditto to this. Aside from the evil Windows non-shutdown which more or less means you have to reboot and shutdown again, the whole process just takes far too long.
Hibernation is the fastest way to shutdown too! From clicking to system off it's usually about 10 seconds maximum.
Call me nitpicky, but on a fairly recent Ubuntu version, when i was trying it, I had to go through so many many hoops to get it to use the WPA on my network that it just made me chuck it. It does work now, straight, but back then it was enough to put me off.
All these people whining about speed. It's down to really small amounts now, does it really matter that much?
Also, does Opera have quite the same userbase and community when it comes to extensions or plugins, which most people get Firefox for.

No, I didn't think so.
Adblock? Greasemonkey?... No?
The people saying the pirate bay has squirreled away the content are the same people that say that torrent sites host illegal content... It'll just be a torrent.
Why not exactly? If they're in China they can surely be locked up just the same as anyone else, athlete or no athlete. On the one hand it'll give a far more entertaining chase on the news.
Everything on this planet is based on conflict. Animals fight with each other and kill each other. Bacteria fight with each other and kill each other. Plants overcrowd neighbours and kill each other. Just by our own sample set it seems logical to deduce that everything in the *universe* is based on conflict. In an anarchistic universe someone is going to want to take power!
Well, you'd be a fool to say that Bittorrent, for the wider populace is used for anything OTHER than copyright violation and 'stealing' music. I can see why they do it.

As opposed to non-radioactive radiation?
Literal or figurative shit? There's lots of literal on there...

>We don't have the penetration per capita as many other countries Actually I thought you got fucked in the ass every four years, personally...
Personally, I was expecting 5 to be profit!!!!...
You get that response a lot in America too, sadly...

I'm not quite sure where in the bible you're guaranteed free speech...
On Slashdot it's far more likely that it's a big manbitch with big mantitties.

There's a difference between well used adverts on a page and hell on earth where it's hard to read the content for flashing GIFs and loud images.
Remind me again, which video games have good enough stories to transition to movies? ...
... nope.
... ah yes.

Half life? Hmm... no. Doom? Hell no. Dungeons and Dragons? Nope. FEAR? Nope.
LEMMINGS?! Nope. Street Fighter II was ok wasn't it?
Can't forget Mortal Kombat can we?

... nobody would start a war over an athlete. Over a political figure possibly. Besides, unless it was a US athlete they wouldn't care anyway.

I'm sure it was 30000... I'm assuming your number was a typo.

"Someone has a cellphone without a camera, but is it really?" Really what? A camera? Phone? Sponge? :D
To be fair, name one popular game these days that doesn't need the CD that isn't an MMORPG of some sort.
If someone told me it was impossible to install Windows XP on a computer I would immediately shun that store and never shop there again...
YOU try calling him a monkey then.
