I felt the same anger for a while. I still do. But I've been reading the design/development column on their site and I agree with most of the issues they're addressing. 3.5 IS a solid game, and one that I enjoy... however, it's not without its flaws, and two of the main ones are speed of play and the unmanagability of the PC's at high levels. Challenge Ratings fall apart quickly past 14th level, with parties either being vastly under- or over-matched depending on their unique abilities.
We know there will be at least 25th level spells... does that mean we'll have more individual spells to choose from, or are the spells going to scale in level? Also, will you be selecting spells as your talents or do you automatically get access to them as you level up?
You know, Weirdbeard, you may be on to something there. I've mainly seen him in comedic roles (a la Van Wilder), but he seems to be a pretty decent actor, too. Looks a bit like young Shatner.
I don't know how many different OS's it is available on, but I personally use Longhand for OSX. It's quite a nice text editor style calculator, but I haven't pushed its scientific capabilities so much. I'm sure that it has them, though.
No actually, most hard drives have ventilation holes. It gets very hot in there, you see. Getting blood into them would be fairly easy, I assume. Getting blood out would be much more difficult.
Offtopic, I know. But you're attributing that quote to the wrong character. It's Wesley, dressed as the dread pirate Roberts, in the battle of wits against the Sicilian. I wouldn't comment, but that's the third time I've seen it so attributed this week.
If it sounds too soft, it's because you're listening to Coldplay.
OTOH, I've noticed that KMFDM albums are actually quite quiet, always requiring me to turn up the volume to enjoy them at the volume of whatever I was just listening to. They've got a good sound, but honestly it's so compressed (with a compressor, not with an algorithm) that I don't think it makes all that much difference. Just my 2cp.
Well, I don't know how long this Anonymous Coward guy's been on here, but his account is so old he doesn't have a user ID number, and he bitches about EVERYTHING!
I'm not much of a code slinger either, but from what I understand of the subject, DirectX is much easier to develop for, while Open GL is faster performance-wise. Anyone care to prove me wrong or right?
I fail to see the big impact of running Parallels without a dedicated virtual machine window... you can already do this with many programs using Crossover Mac, which I use on my mac and love to death.
I don't think you can hold Michael Bay responsible for making a Martin Lawrence/ Will Smith vehicle suck. Maybe he's not the best director, but even Francis Ford Coppola couldn't make that movie worth watching.
Don't forget that to power the Laundro-bot, they need YOU to collect lint from every dryer in the shop to form some kind of super-lint. Just before you collect the last piece, you'll stop (in a grand cinematic), renounce your manager, and refuse to take any more lint. That's when he'll attack you from behind.
Hell yes. Until not so many years ago, Master of Orion 2 was the only PC game I ever paid for. I made up for this by burning a copy when mine became so scratched it was unplayable.
Well, the article does mention a wrapper program that can make linux-friendly plugins out of VST ones, but it did mention it has some problems with USB or serial copy-protection dongles.
It's definitely true, but the Libertarians have their crazy side too.
I tend to vote libertarian except in the last few presidential elections when it was so important to try to defeat Bush. However, things like abolishing the FDA make me nervous if they ever become a majority.
Still, I think that a nice shot of Libertarianism would be just what this country needs to turn the tide of restricted freedoms and unrestricted spying on its own citizens.

Fired for buying IBM, noone ever got. I'll be here all week, folks.
1.21 Gigabots? Why, the only thing that can generate that kind of current is... the Storm Botnet!

Duh, one germ can turn invisible, one germ can stretch, one germ can catch fire, and one germ is now a rock.
MOD PARENT UP!
If you can't get modded for a Lovecraft refrence on Slashdot, where can you?

Not quite, Orcus is the bloated demon prince of the undead.
And here I thought Slashdot was a haven for geeks.

If you know enough Pratchett to make the refrence, then you know it's the case. They are, however, also quite dangerous.
If there were no schools in the UK, Roger Waters would have written every song about his mother.
If you make it cool your CPU too, I'm in. I'll take 100 tubes!
