    the data in question is 21 years old? 1985 seems like an eternity ago - this from a guy born in 1982. I'm not a statistician or a doctor, but couldn't there have been a myriad of things that happened in between 1985 and now?
    dude, it's not like the beans are any different. Although, back when I was picking beans in Guatemala, we used to make fresh coffee, right off the trees I mean. That was good.

    well... the crustaceans ate the scorpions and the scorpions ate the crustaceans. what exactly is the problem? yeah, there is a necessary loss of energy, but that's why there are so few of each type left. another thousand years later and the scientists would have uncovered a perfectly empty cave.

    it's not really "getting out in time" that breaks the board though. Imagine that there is a "measure" that determines whether an object breaks on impact. Depending on the strike and how you model it, the measure could be the maximum force, impulse, or transfer of energy, etc. So, the entire point is to strike the board in such a way that this "measure" is more favorable to the bones in your hand than the board. For example, it's a fact that you risk more injury if your hand slows down more during the impact.

    must feed the troll!!! Seriously, though. There is no reason why an educational game must be a shooter. Experience shows that grinding for experience can have people glued to the screen for hours! All we need to do is change the quests from "bring me 12 boar husks" to "bring me 12 divergent series". Then you get this "integration test" ability and start to gold farm.

    So, I guess some of the tests for divergence will have to be nerfed. And numerical integration is too unbalanced, I have always said. Still... a calculus game is a solid concept!

    i am pretty sure that various "windows system restore" features are set to use like at least 10% of the HD, even in XP. i don't know if we are counting the trashcan or not, but that's another 10%. what are the requirements of XP in terms of free HD space, anyway?

    just to set the record straight about "locking down security", the quake (1) engine had the one single most hacker friendly console of any game before or after period. you could execute almost any shell command on any of the remote machines. this didn't even require any cracks or exploits, it was just built like this - to be a winnuke. which is not to say that it was a bad thing. say, you think someone is hacking or griefs too much. well, you could ban him, but how about wiping half the files off his hard drive instead? so much more effective.

    how is the interest morbid? if anything, it should be called 'natural', in the hunter-gatherer sense of the word. i think that it is much better to be a "hardcore" "pro" halo gamer (with all the negative connotations that it entails) rather than a typical mellowed-out PC loser. I guess, the Man still can't give up His dreams to fully "Baden-Powell all the boys and Betty Crocker all the girls"... Anyway, long live violent videogames - the new underground.

    I am pretty sure I can get a free PS3 from any one of the ubiquitous "click the monkey to win a free PS3" ads. So, I am basically waiting for the "free HDTV" ads to appear, and then I am all set.
