I can't speak to Texas but we've been cutting school spending here and New Jersey (and by cutting spending I mean cutting state aid to local school districts) and the schools automatically respond by cutting teachers and arts/sports programs to scare the populace into hating the Governor. Despite every school district being incredibly top-heavy with administrators, insisting on having their own buses and bus drivers (all of whom have to be paid government employee wages and benefits) and constantly building new imperial palaces (I mean campuses) and leaving the old campuses empty and abandoned.
This is so silly. They'd be better off buying a bunch of land in Guyana and building a town there. The country has a population of less than a million, it could be pretty easily overrun with big money investment and a few libertarian inclined businesses shipping employees out there.
A: Most states don't have juries in traffic court (I don't know any specifically that do actually)
B: That applies just as much to "I saw him talking on his cell phone" Defendant: "No, I was playing music off my iPod"
Actually, had he wanted to veto, he likely could have. Most representatives/senators won't want to overturn a veto from a president in their own party.
You falsely assume federal government spending is the only type of government spending. State level spending can provide for hospitals, roads and bridges without the burden of paying a military that costs more than every other nation in the world's combined as well as the ponzi schemes of SSI and Medicare/aid
Only way to fix it would require thousands not hundreds of represntatives as well as congressional term limits. Neither of which will ever happen. You may think my opionion to be more extreme but sadly it is the more realistic solution.
Our system of government was not setup for this large of a population. When the countru was founded there were many who thought the constittuent:representative ratio was too high and it is faaaar worse now. It is time to dissolve the union and form 50 new nations.
Movies don't have to have anything to do with space to be science fiction, but to answer your question Star Trek came out in 09 with a new one coming out in 12 or 13. It's not an original ip no, but then again none of the star trek movies were ever truly original (being based off tv series).
It is simply hollywood taking advantage of a fashion, like disaster movies in the 90s or reality tv in the 00s or sitcoms in the 80s/90s. Something revolutionary will come along in its own due course but revolutionary isn't something big studios (movies or video games) are capable of producing. Just the nature of the beast it can't be changed. Find a way to entertain yourself or or take the risk and be the rebel..
Super8, Cowboys and Aliens, Tron Legacy, Predators, I Am Number Four, Race to Witch Mountain, Real Steel (aka Rock'em Sock'em Robots the Movie) and hell even the Transformers is technically Sci-Fi. It's just crap also. And oh yeah there was a sci-fi movie out in 09 that got some attention. Blue people, space marines, giant space tree and hundreds of millions in sfx....
Just checked, 1.00 was exaggerating a bit (though it was close to that at some point in the last 6 months). It's roughly a 25-50 cent difference in New Jersey.
Well, currently the diesel price is close to a dollar more per gallon than regular gasoline. There are regular gas cars that get roughly the same mileage as this chevy claims to get so I doubt it will sell well.
But why not just sell the parts to anyone? I get the idea that Macintosh is just a console like an xbox or playstation. Standardized parts make development much easier. Xbox/ps3 don't want people fiddling around in there due to due to drm crap but why would mac care and be so restrictive?
Mostly I was defending the ac. I agree with a lot of what you said but the problem isn't in the American workers. Hell even if the money being taken was making it into their hands through 'socialist' programs the savings to the average person would trickle back up to the producers (in the form of everyone buying new cars, houses etc).
I was defending the AC though who is right in that the disparity between ceo and worker has grown to obnoxious levels and the fault of that is greed not the government.
Nice job completely missing the point.
When you and your company are producing items for the general populace as your customer base and you fire all your employees to have it produced somewhere cheaper by people who would not be/can not afford to be part of your customer base you have reduced your customer base.
When one company does it they are being competetive. When they all do it the economy collapses. Some amount of protectionism is needed. Having Americans work like the Chinese do for the same wages won't solve the problem and with our culture would only lead to a labor rebellion.
If all this shit was made in america (even at a higher price) more Americans would be employed and thus be able to pay the higher prices. When you take the jobs away from your consumer base you are only biting the hand that feeds you.
Then it is problematic not only for bicyclists but pedestrians as well and should be brought up to your local community authority to deal with. Good luck =p

I wasn't aware South Dakota had an international border =p

Please tell me "disenfranchised angry youth" was sarcastic.

Meanwhile I spend 8-9 hours a day in my work truck listening to blown out factory default speakers from a 98 Ford Ranger; everything else is a treat :)

Or issue letters of mark so any old person who can go hunt em down for fun!

What on earth is the logic behind this?
Unless you (uh, totally legally) acquired 36,000 fonts
Unless we want to try Tocks Island again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tocks_Island

How about riding single file instead of side by side across the whole lane on a 50-60mph road
Get off the bike, push the pedestrian crossing button and walk across as a pedestrian.
