ah that's right. thanks for the correction. it's been so long. i have to admit that i was pretty amused by the soundbyte. i thought it was cute. mario was nothing more than a working class hero and has evolved into a lovable icon. i don't find his stereotypical character offensive, but i sometimes find it annoying. not that mario is a serious character, but it just doesn't fit sometimes. however, i wouldn't want him to change.:]
im mario 64 when you leave the plumber idle he begins to snore and talk in his sleep. among the things mentioned are "spaghetti" and "mama mia". no joke
The big downfall of the game were its poor sales. It really didn't deserve to be ignored as much as it did. i've only played tidbits of it and loved everything about the game. its been recommended so many times and it remains on my "to do " list. If it sells well this time perhaps the creative group behind Okami won't be so discouraged.
This statement is very poorly timed and thus most likely completely inaccurate.
1. Christmas season starts soon. Christmas = high sales period.
2. Wii has 3 extremely popular games being released between now and february. Agreed! November is the shopping month and the new Mario comes out. Link's Crossbow training is also due out. December has a few good releases. Smash in February! Mario Kart in Spring! Mind you these are just the first party titles. We should be getting hit with the onslaught of games from developers that are just catching up(because no one expected wii to do so well) after a late start.
Yea, I'm not sure what all this is supposed to mean. Are we gonna get a ton of sequels (KotOR 3? Jade Empire2?) or is EA gonna leave them alone and just give them bags of munny hoping they can make great games they can bank off of? The Wikipedia page already shows Mass Effect 2 and 3 are in developement.
it's hard to say. osama bin laden has an obsessive hatred and knowledge of the united states it's scary. do you think deep down he wishes he was american? I don't think so. it's all for shock value.
I'm looking forward to a long wait and seeing my savings go bye-bye.

Are we so spoiled that we can't take the time to learn to play a game anymore? I'll admit i was a bit frustrated at the controls for the first few missions, but when my brother showed me "how it's done" i had no problem playing the game. Given that it is the most awesome dragon flying game i've ever played (sorry panzer dragoon) i can ignore a few of the nuances in the control scheme. It's not perfect, but i love it.
I understand if you're far away from your mates. I live in Dallas Texas and i met people with similar interests through networking. When enough friends are around i usually suggest a good game of Smash.
My younger sister who doesn't play a ton of videogames has been able to best me in several matches on smash bros. The inclusion of items, and with the general mayhem, its hard to match players based on skill. Just try it out and see what the results are. My bet is that ranked matches are only necessary for those top tier players. The pros.
If everyone is so worried about the non-ranked anonymous brawls why don't they just call some friends over? To me thats the ultimate Smashbros experience. I hardly have a tough time finding three other people to play Smashbros with. If you're a loner and a fan of Smashbros how did you get by in the first place? I won't plan on playing too much online with this game, but i do welcome the addition. It'll be nice to play some humans instead of AI for practice games.
Right-o! What's the point in being a "rockstar" if there's no sex involved? I love video games, but not as much as i love women. Even if i could make thousands while gaming i would refuse to make it a chore. Gaming is a passion, not a burden.
One day flash memory will be cheap. I can't wait for that day to arrive. Luckily, when recently purchased my sister's 2GB nano i shelled out the extra 20 dollars at bestbuy for the product replacement plan. I have 2 yrs to break the sucker to get a new one at the same price. Surprisingly the wait was only 2 months. She's quite excited to be getting double the capacity and video capability:] Now all we need to do is drop it on the hold button.
And finally, even if we ignore the above two points, his negative approach is still stupid. Positive reinforcement would've worked just as well if not much better, without attracting any of the criticism. Simply give kids discounts for good grades. I've seen this done in a local computer hardware store, and while the discount wasn't huge, it was a nice touch. Maybe make each subject graded above X points worth a 5pp discount, or something. The more good grades the kids have, the more games they can buy. Everybody wins.
So in conclusion, fuck that guy. I'm glad they put a stop to this retarded policy before it could spread anywhere.
Have you ever been to Oak Cliff? This is the neighborhood you're afraid to drive through for fear of getting SHOT. Somehow, i doubt positive reinforcement will work on some of these kids. I certainly don't degrade myself to spouting insults, but i do agree that you catch more flies with honey. Get off your high-horse and quit calling everyone stupid. The man only did what he felt was right for his particular environment.
Hmm, i play battlefield 2142 and rarely come across any "squeekers". I also invest time on Eve Online. I have yet to come across anything remotely childish in that game.
Since a large chunk of the gaming market is turning to "casual gaming" (thx Nintendo) Gamestop is sure to mndlessly follow whatever trend hits next. Now only if they can hire employees that are actually knowledgeable about games and not just a bunch of quota-meeting, nerdy fanboys.

Totally random play would get frustrating for newbies and boring for the more hardcore players if bad matchups occur frequently.
Are all your friends equally skilled at Smash'? No, but you play anyway because it's fun. Win or lose.

I'm not 100% sure, but i'm guessing the xbox version could just as easily fit in a few more events and costumes.
