Is it possible for a small company to get a hold of one of these pre-release PS3 dev kits? Are there any in-depth reviews it out there? Has SONY announced the official release date of the final (launch) dev kit yet?
It would seem to me that discussing specs w/o understanding what the developers can/will do with them is premature at best. What data is stored in this cache? How do we know that a 16m/s read time isn't plenty?
Having just moved to my new appartment, with arms so dead tired I can barley type, this "furniture as a service" sounds pretty good- assuming they pick-up and deliver.
Ideologically, I agree 100%. I give myself an oil change twice a year, I have tweaked every pc I've ever owned, I fool with anything electronic I can get my claws on.
BUT- 99% of people (aka the mass market) do not.
If Linux doesn't WANT to move into the mass market, well fine. Plenty of great stuff I love has never left the "niche" realm, and that doesn't make it any less great.
But no niche product I have ever loved has ever approached anything considered a "standard". This is the value of that "mass market" y'all seem to despise so much.
Maybe its because my fiance is a Nurse, or pehaps because I've almost been killed a few times in my short life, but these random acts of horrific violence you describe do not strike me as funny in the slightest/
Like how he'd get sick and turn colors (eventually plaid) and die if you slept with the hooker and didn't use a rubber. That was funny.
Not only was this scene funny, but playing as a 13-year-old it really helped drive home the point that condom use was a good idea.
I'm not saying it is the duty of video games to teach sex ed, nor am I one of those "video games are the root of child violence" people, however, I certainly see value in this sort of thing. Speaking for myself, I have learned stuff from all sorts of goofy sources, and more often than not, entirely accidentally.
Here in America, our legal system has been accepting email and IP addresses as evidence of identity for years now.
The real danger here is not violations of genuine privacy, but rather, the ability of truly bad people to sabatoge enemies without any worry of consequence.
My mom hated computers until the day she died. She didn't trust them. She said that so long as text could be deleted or added, she couldn't trust any computer as any sort of reliable evidence (she was a lawyer, I am not).
The older I get, the more I regret mocking this opinion as naive.
I went to middle school in Mundelein, a few miles away from this place. I guess I've got a bad case of "home town pride" or something because I feel like playing devil's advocate.
For your consideration:
If we are going to make schools responsible for events like Columbine, it seems only fair to grant them additional power in the interests of preserving the safety which *we* have made their charge.
I'm too old to like MySpace myself, but I have read a few blogs on that site. I happen to think that kids 5-10 years from now will know better than to use the Internet as their own personal diary. Maybe, just maybe, we are doing these kids a favor by encouraging *other* means of discussing personal and/or private issues.

mosb1000, you and I are going to start our own political party...with blackjack...and hookers.
I can see the slogan now: "the isolationist party: please leave us the fuck alone".
Hmmm. On second thought, forget the political party.

That attitude is the first thing the Linux community needs to overcome if they wish to be percieved as a true alternative to OSX or XP.

The biggest problem with the 3-d KQ was that is was an easy game. KQ3- now that was a challenge.
Any game which is simply testing my ability to click a button quicker than my opponent is simply boring IMO.

Keep the canned patriotism, give me my rights, and I'll just take my chances.
Common mistake...
Rights cannot be given, they must be taken.
What a crazy idea, and even crazier because it seems more feasible every day.
Correct me if I am wrong, but haven't you just described the purpose of Google's PR algorithm?
The correct answer [top result] is the one that is statistically the most popular among the responses [links/anchor text found].
In other words, I fail to see what makes this system unique.
Sure, funded by VISA and AMEX I guess?
Or, perhaps they intend to start a draft in a country where 30% of the electorate are demanding the President's impeachment.
Nope. The only reason Iran has even grown such big balls in the first place is because they understand our quagmire, even if some Americans don't.
Reagan Republicans UNITE! Let's get our party back under control.
As the Gipper said: Government is not the solution to our problem- Government *is* the problem.
Preach!
These Google fanbois need to hear it.
I bought a Rio back in the day (best price on the market) and it lasted me a few years (and I treat my portible stuff cruely).
I've always wondered why the Rio had such a low market share. Like parent said...Rio makes (made?) a good product...really!
Turbo Graffix 16. Anyone remember that one? Nope, me either.
What about that 3DO system back in '93? Did anyone actually buy it, or was it reserved exclusivley for trade shows?
If memory serves, SONY is not the first to attempt this pricing strategy, but they would be the first to suceed with it.
I think I wet myself, you hysterical bastard.
Can I get an "amen"?
No...seriously...I think we need one...
Hey, some cat just showed up in my living room. What gives?
I have no idea what this has to do with TFA, but that ad is hysterical.
DAMN YOU LIBERAL MEDIA!!
If you could get the right ten thousand people to move from Silicon Valley to Buffalo, Buffalo would become Silicon Valley.
So, in other words, no you could not be reproduced.
(I think there is still snow on the ground in Buffalo)

and more importantly, it will free up randomcumdumpstersluts.com for the children
I read from TFA:
I thought to myself: yeeeesh, bad analogy warning.
Then I came and read your post, and suddenly I was very nervous.
Guys, can we lay off these DaVinci-code piggybacking non-stories, please?
I mean, if nothing else, can we at least pick a new movie to obsess about for awhile? Star Trek v. Star Wars or something?
