Why should we have a clue about GI Joe, in the UK we had the far superior Action Man, He had moving eyes, gripping hands and he ate GI's for breakfast.
Honestly, I knew of GI Joe, but until the recent movie, did not not know that the bad guys were called Cobra.
It's in an ISPs best interests to increase bandwidth before their competitors do. I know that there is often not a lot of choice so consumers dont have many options, but if one company makes the jump and increases bandwith significantly, how long before customers start jumping ship, especially once they realise that Netflix etc start working better.
Comic Sans is recommended for those with poor eyesight or dyslexia, and while other fonts are also recommended, Comic Sans is one of the few fonts to draw an a in the same way as children are taught to write it.
There was an episode of Top Gear, where they took a hybrid prius, and drove it flat out round a track, they followed this car with a BMW, doing the same speed - guess which got better mileage.
Its a streaming service for shows that were on TV. You can watch shows from the previous 7 days.
There is also a download option, with DRM, but this was XP only, and I think most people just use the streaming option, as it seems to work quite well, I have experienced few buffering problems, and quality is OK. There was an issue with it crashing every 15 mins, at least for me, but that seems to have been fixed now.
Shortly after Bob Dylan had said that, he appeared (at least in the UK) on an advert for iTunes.
So while compressed digital music isn't good enough for him, he'll take the money and run.
I am UK based and have a cheap digifusion freeview PVR (£90). Its basic, but it works - I previously had a PC based PVR, using GB-PVR, but my GF could not be bothered figuring out how to use it.
Bring up the program guide, highlight the program you wish to record, and hit the record button.
This combined with a DivX/XVid compatible DVD player covers most of my needs.
That said, I have just started using Win Media Center on my Vista laptop, for when I want to record two programs, or for things that I want to burn to DVD, and am very impressed with it. Worked no problems with the no brand USB TV Dongle that I got as a present.
If I had to stop using one, it would be the laptop, as you can't beat the simplicity of the set top box.
You only need a TV licence if you have a device capable of reciving TV signals (TV, digibox, PC TV Card etc) If you only watched TV shows downloaded off the internet, then you would not need a TV licence.
You could even hook your PC up to a TV, as long as the TV was not connected to an ariel, and not tuned into any channels.
Its Euro 2006 (Soccer, for those that dont know) and Scotland have a Penalty against England (deadly rivals, for those that dont know that either) Gary McAlister steps up to take the shot, and just before he kicks the ball it moves slightly, causing him to fluff the shot, losing us the game, and our entry to the finals.
Mr Gellar later reveals that it was him who moved the ball, using the power of his mind.
Now either he really could move the ball, and that makes him a cheat, or he just said he did, and the ball just moved by itself due to the way it was sitting, and then he's a liar.
Anyway, I can bend a spoon with my bare hands, why dont you bend something impressive, like a steel girder.
True, True, but the BBC B always made you feel like you were playing games at teachers house.
I wish I still had my Speccy, The BBC is still in the loft at Mum's though
Happy Birthday
I loved Crash
& I still have a complete set of Input magazines, in the binders!!! - The best manuals ever!!!
I dont know why but the use of legos really annoys me. It's LEGO. I don't know why it winds me up so much, as I'm not normally a grammar nazi. Actually the whole loose / lose thing winds me up too. Maybe I'm just turning into a grumpy old curmudgeon.
There has been plenty of press coverage in the UK about ISPs offering 'unlimited' downloads and then cutting off heavy users under 'fair use' blah blah blah small print. The ISP I am with, even has a bit about it on their home page. They offer 5, 20 & 50 Gig packages with you being billed extra if you go over. This is all clearly stated up front, and I am happy to pay a few quid more if I go over, than to switch to another ISP to save a little, as I have been with my current ISP for years, and have had very few problems, and when I did their customer service was superb.
I have the UK version (I am Scottish), and while its not fast, its fine for slashdot and sites that are mostly text - high graphics sites take time though. I had heard bad reports about how slow the Japanese version was before I bought mine, but I went ahead anyway, and I find it great for just checking little things while watching telly. I wouldn't want it as my only browser but I use it more than Opera on the Wii
Another tip is to swap the cards regularly, at least daily. That way if you lose a card, or your camera gets stolen, you have a wider range of pictures left
While I agree that not being allowed to cross a street while using an iPod, Cell phone etc is just ridiculous and I am opposed to the whole Nanny State thing that is also prevalent in the UK. I feel that I have the right not to be run over by some stupid pr1ck on his/her mobile. I have seen many instances of bad driving caused by this. You suggest that existing laws regarding careless driving are sufficient, and that only after demonstrating that the person is not able to drive while operating a cell phone - by having accidents. What if on the first accident they hit you, or a member of your family.
I don't claim to have the answers, I just feel that this is not it.

10 years ago we all managed fine without cell phones - nowadays there seems to be some sort of mania where people must answer their phone when it rings. Most cellphone conversations can wait - get over it
In the past, people who bought projectors for watching TV would generally know about bulb life and replacement cost. However now that these TVs are being bought by your average punter, who is replacing a 10 year old CRT that has never needed anything doing to it, and that still works fine, they will not be happy at having to fork out a couple of hundred quid for a new bulb every year or so.
It's Slains Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slains_Castle
This is the castle that inspired the castle in Bram Stoker's Dracula
This is just some casle in Romania that looks like it might have been Dracula's
Do you want to then have to go through your statement with a fine tooth comb, and check every small transaction. I would spot a large unauthorised withdrawal, but I might not spot £10 here or there, and how many people don't bother to check their statements.

I was a Crash reader - you want to make something of it. Not the parent poster, but just thought I'd stick my oar in.

If that is true, then it must be quite uncomfortable to ride a bike.
The only person who looks good in a brown suit is Clint Eastwood
...and me

If only it worked with Opera on the Wii.
They move stuff about at the supermarket to make you look around more, with the aim of making you buy more stuff. But I agree, it is annoying

Actually England (nil-nil draw), along with rest of the United Kingdom uses Pounds Sterling, not UK Pounds.

They said that about Microsoft
Which is why we get very upset when you beat us at association football
