That would sure teach me to be more careful. When I install a new program, I usually make a run through the settings and options to set everything they way I think I want it. Then I click on the OK button without releasing and make one last glance over the options to make sure I didn't do anything stupid. Then I release the button and go on my way. It's kind of like the chess move doesn't count until you take your hand off the piece, I guess. I didn't even realize I did this until I read your post. The only other issue I can think of is accidental clicks would become more common.
Depends on the distribution, I guess. If you manage to put DamnSmallLinux on your Linksys Router, then I would argue that at that point it IS a PC. If you just put ClarkConnect or something on there, it's still too specialized to be a PC.
I realize this is anecdotal, but I get a MUCH better experience using Office 2007 in an XP Virtualbox session than I do using Wine. No crashing in VBox and very little slowdown. Wine crashes half the time, takes about a minute to start Word, and is so laggy that it is unusable. Very strange to me.
WTF is sexy about a computer? I am sick of seeing this term used in every stupid tech review. Attractive? Ok, I guess it attracts my attention. Eye-pleasing? Sure, that works. But does anyone really, seriously get sexually aroused by a stupid Macbook or any kind of technology? Enough already!
And you all know I'm not talking about the pr0n we watch on it, I'm talking about the device itself.
After a full three minutes of careful soul-searching, I decided to save the mod point I was going to use to make a "McD's coffee == hot water" joke by modding your post Redundant. I shall instead waste it on a Soviet Russia post.
Try PolicyKit. There is an entry to grant/block mounting of file systems from removable drives. Another one to block mounting of file systems from internal drives. Another setting for Directly access removeable block devices. And this is just what I see from the pretty GUI on my box, I'm sure there's more.
Is it too much to ask to expect people to be competent in their area of employment?
You don't get out much do you? Judging by my experiences at different places, yes, it is in fact too much to ask. Very few people take any pride in their work anymore and see it as an inconvenience.
people who allow photographs of themselves partaking of wild alcohol and drug infused debauchery involving German Sheppards, latex, and number ten cans of peanut butter and enchilada sauce may not be the most reliable or upstanding people.
Hey! That was supposed to be our little secret. I marked it as private, friends only.
Just kidding, of course, but it brings up another question. Even if I mark it as "friends only, private, only two people are allowed to see this", there is nothing stopping the friend (or someone on their account) from clicking Save As and re-posting it somewhere else. And they may not know a thing about security or privacy settings
I know, I was just being an ass. I used to live in a small town between a couple larger towns. It was a local call for them to call me, but long distance for them to call each other. I ran a pretty active WWIV board for a few years there. The location made it perfect for bringing users in those towns together.

That's more like a drinking game around here...

If you put Linux on it, doesn't that change it from a gaming console to a general-purpose personal computer?
The calendar plugin is Lightning. I do not believe it handles Exchange calendars. It will pull in your Google calendars though.

I'd be willing to be the features you consider significant, are not to others.
Fixed that for you.
Here ya go... Cut and paste
The iPhone touchscreen seems to be thermally driven. This is why your finger works, but your fingernail or stylus does not.

Tubes are so much better sounding, part of the reason they cost so much more.
What does the interweb have to do with this? And a tube-based amp? Now you are just making stuff up...
Is it live or is it Auto-Tune?

Where do you think baby coat hangers come from?
--
The answer is: sunshine
Baby hangers come from sunshine? That still doesn't answer why we should try to impregnate coat hangers.

Your English is better than most other people's English, so please don't worry about it. Thank you.
Katz... writing dog books. That's all I need to know.
Grandmother... Depends. Classic! I LOLed.
