Currently there is a drought, that ALL consoles experience after launch, this is nothing new, the 360 had it, the PS3 has it right now as well, the PS2 had it, the xbox had it, this is not a new concept.
In march there will be some good titles and throughout the year there Nintendo will release some of their important franchises such as Super Smash Bros, Mario and Pokemon. Alot of developers are working on the Wii now because it seems that some of them "get it" now. PS2 ports was just to get their numbers up for launch and try to minimize the drought effect.
By November we will see who will have the momentum and could even call a winner by after this coming xmas once PS3 and Wii have their 2nd generation titles out the door
The Wii is still currently the most popular of the consoles so its not that bad. What is hurting PS3 is alot of their "would be" exclusives are headed to the 360 as well as price

He can be mean and never tried to say he was a saint. He himself has stated that he's an asshole, doesn't bother me. The guy writes good code and he knows operating systems, you dont need anything else to lead the development of the kernel

I think the Xbox360 has been a joke, and it looks like the PS3 is turning out to be a joke too. I think this is where Nintendo can really shine and take back the industry that they brought to the masses in the first place. Capitalizing on new innovations, the screw ups that Sony and MS have been doing and price should see Nintendo take back the lead.
Persoanlly i think graphics are good enough on Gamecube, take a look at Resident Evil 4, Fire Emblem: Path of radience and of coursethe tech demos of Twilight Princess and its a no brainer that fancy HDMI graphics are not really that nessecary (and if it IS, it cant really go further than that)
Also the power and graphics that the PS3 is boasting is the absolute maximum that a console will EVER need until the start doing VR and 3D holligraphic TV's
Personally i think that the PS3 wont be ready for mass adoption untill the next decade starts when HD TV's will become common, I dont know of ANYONE who has a HDTV yet
So my point is that Sony expects people to buy the console because its high defentition and people havent even bought high defenition TV's yet, simple as that.
My loyalty was with Sega (many would be supprised how many great games the Saturn and Dreamcase had) so brand loyalty means nothing to me anymore, so I am going to go after what I think will be most fun to play and value for money, so im opting for the Wii, I will buy another console due to the new Sonic the Hedgehog being relased but the Wii will be my primary console, just mainly because I am very impressed with whats comming (Red Steel, Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 3 just to name a few and they're just launch titles!)

For serious its both, any dumbass has known for a long time now, Console/Blu-Ray Payer/Linux PC.
Im not a big fan of Sony, but it will be interesting to see what their Linux PC is offering. Sounds like to me, if the Sony sells very well, that technically cuts into Microsoft dominant operating system market, im all for that.
Could you imagine if people buy up the PS3, it would definatly give the Linux market a boost so its not entirly evil.
No doubt there will be many distros avaliable, id like to see Ubuntu for PS3

So far they estimate to loose AU$300 per console (AU$1000 is the consoles price, you do the math) and they plan to make it back pushing Blu Ray and games. Me? I plan to put Gentoo on it and browse the net looking order more games for my Wii.

I've been using Linux on my home desktop for 10 years now, what should I switch?
I think the Xbox360 has been a joke, and it looks like the PS3 is turning out to be a joke too.
