    The origional Unreal and Half Life were 2 others that also worked under WINE perfectly back in the day too. Unreal Tournament and Quake II & III had Linux binaries as well. The FPS genre did quite well under Linux in the 90's

    They own the UNIX code but not the copyrights, court ruled a while back that Novell owns the copyrights which put a major blow in this litigation

    He fed the troll. I was able to get Gnome running nicely on a PII400 with 128Mb RAM on Fedora 9 with an 8Mb Voodoo card (remember those?). No 3D effects but no apps crashed :)

    There are alot of good open source games out there. My personal favourate is Battle of Wesnoth.
    Alien Wars, Freecraft, Nethack, FreeCiv, TORCS & others can be found in the Ubuntu repo's that are fairly good.
