  1. MOD PARENT UP on Plant a Seed, Get Sued? · · Score: 1

Too much FUD is going around these days.... anything that kills plants must have some kind of detrimental effect to humans as well. Well, in this case, I think the scientists at Monsanto have done a good job at engineering a weed killer. Roundup isn't just a weed killer, it's a plant killer. And does so by preventing the plant from harvesting air. (like strangling someone)

What makes you think everyone gets to work 40 hours a week anyway? My boss probably gets to work 40 hours no more, but most of his subordinates (like myself) are required to work as long as the job gets done, and usually this is more than 40 hours a week. It would be really nice to only be able to work 40 hours a week. EA Games isn't the only place where developers are used. I could quit and find a new job, but then I'd probably find more of the same.

It might be funny now, but if you look at the current crop of MMORPG games that are out there, you see that it's the trend and will continue being the trend. World of Warcraft for example, was only released a week or two ago and there are already a million people in the universe. At work (in real life) lots of the discussion among the age groups of 25-30 are about these immersive 3-D MMORPG type games... so it's becoming an entertainment trend. Maybe in the future, these environments will become so realistic, there will a lesser need to own hobbies or interests in real life. In the future maybe we'll just come home from work and jack in like in Snow Crash or The Matrix.....

No you don't want the Sure e5cs unless you like bass music a lot. They're overpriced and basically crap. Just take a look at the frequency response for the e5cs for yourself. The low frequency is way high and there's a lot missing for the high frequencies. I've tried them out and it's not that great... not much better than the iPod earbuds at least. The iPod earbuds aren't that bad (as far as frequency response is concerned), but if you want good isolation, you should get the Etymotic ER-4P headphones instead. I've got a pair of ER-4S and I can't see headphones getting much better than that.

The radiator was so big, I didn't need a fan to cool it off! The whole system pumps 1.5 gallons around cooling 2 processors and 2 video cards across 4 computers. Maybe... but then the xbox is big and won't fit in your pocket. This thing looks like 2-times the size of a normal hard drive. I think a big factor here is the size of the device, not the power, price, or bang for the buck. For $185 sans the monitor, it's actually decently priced.

I could see people sticking these things in cars because they could easily hide the device under a seat or in the glove compartment. Since it has usb slots, bring that 1GB usb storage key chain and you have a relatively cheap mp3 player. Add a usb camera, and you've got a miniture security device. I'm sure the thing runs on pretty low power so hooking it up to the car battery shouldn't drain it too badly.
