Because Mozilla have set the 17th of June as Download Day in most fan boy's minds.
Everyone has been waiting for the 17th. Only, when the day came, we were told we had to wait until late evening, or in the far east's case, the next day.
A recent article on the BBC mentions that
"Five million iPhones have been sold".
Five million in the overall world wide market is nothing. It's great for the smart phone market (as Apple keep telling us), but the gaming market isn't aimed at smart phones. The money is in small, casual games that you can play on a five minute break.
What you're going to get is a repeat of the current computer market where Apple gets thrown the gaming scraps because no-one wants to pour development money into something that has single digit market share (no matter how capable the hardware/software).
"But the Red Cross angered Johnson & Johnson beginning in 2004 by licensing the symbol to other companies for use on commercial items sold in stores as part of the organization's fund-raising program.
The items included humidifiers, hand sanitizer gel, medical examination gloves, nail clippers, combs and toothbrushes. Some were part of first-aid kits sold at Target and by other retailers. Red Cross received part of the proceeds."
Clearly the lawsuit is more complex.
That said... If J&J didn't foresee a backlash from this, they are either scoundrels or idiots.
It always amazes me that first world software companies (and not only Americans) think that it's ok to charge the same prices, no matter where they sell their products.
If their pricing were more in line with something like the Economist's Big Mac Index, they will go a long way to cutting software piracy rates in the third world.
'Remember Each Folder's View Settings' is still broken in Windows Explorer (you can't turn it off). It was the first thing I checked (has been bugging me for ages:) ). Bad first impression:(
Has anyone seen Flash's Actionscript lately? AS3 is a respectable programming language (Flame away:P). Considering that Jobs never wanted an iPhone API at all, if he lets Flash on the iPhone, he'll be opening the door to a rival API that he has little control over.
It's not on the front page any more, but at the time of posting, it is still showing up on the front page's RSS feed (and yes, I did refresh the feed just before posting this...).
We have this in South Africa too, thanks to AT&T's former subsidiary, Telkom. It's awful. South Africa is now almost a decade behind the rest of the world in terms of internet usage. Instead of upgrading the network to meet demand, Telkom keeps the prices high to keep the demand steady.
It leads to the absurd situation whereby the less they provide, the more money they make (and their profits are huge).
Sure, Telkom are (were) a government sponsored monopoly, but from what I've heard, large parts of the US internet is defacto monopoly run too. I'd guess they're taking their business model from the wrong people.
No, it's Vista Service Pack 2.

They should have been a lot more specific and people are miffed: http://www.spreadfirefox.com/node/2438

I'm pretty sure Cory Doctorow used it first.
Not sure about the software though...

That seems to have just about everything, plus some earth comparisons that should give you an idea of where on Mars it landed.
There's a map at the bottom showing Phoenix's position relative to the other landers.
Not sure if it's on the NASA site?

Anyone know of a mirror?
*sarcasm* ;-)
You'd never find out if it was. The first rule of Project MAHEM is...
Surely they'll only get readings if the subject's engrams are out of whack? :)
What's in the box? :)

Score 0, troll :-D
Too easy? ;-)

Isn't 2048 also supposed to be problematic? Binary 2047 (11111111111) into binary 2048 (100000000000) will add an extra digit.
