Until then I have to stick with tried methods which now includes Symantec Ghost.

Problem with the logic is that only the English parts of Christianity talked about a god as God. By that logic any Eastern Catholics and Jews as well as Muslims should take offence to the term. Believe it or not majority of the basis of US as well as other nations laws are based on the 12 commandment. Course most first world nations ignore the coveting of your neighbors wife and property. However quite a few of Islamic nations don't. I suspect as the Islamic religion ages you will find some softening of some of the views. As a religion matures it seems to become forgiving and less punishing. Remember the Crusades?

Now if I happen to "backup" my data onto my hard drive and let a billion people borrow my data and essentially copy it what is the dif? I think the arguement he has is that since it is the downloader who is taking and I have allowed him to take it, it fits into the category. I think you should read one of the main stories today. It is legal in Canada. It was decided when they imposed tarrifs on blank CDs if you are going to charge someone because of copying then you can't stop people from doing it this was geared more for home recordings but included CDR as well and due to the wording P2P is included.

But I do agree it is too easy to steal and when pay services do become available in Canada for music and video it may be difficult to compete.

and never will. I don't live in the US I live a little North where it is legal to do it :P
Trust me I don't feel guilty copying music. If the RIAA came out with their version of ITunes with good quality files (not MP3s though maybe AAC) I would pay for each song.

Fact is that parents do have this ability but right now the ones who probably are bringing up bad kids could probably give two shits about their kid as long as they get their two-four at the end of the week.

You could tax it out the ying-yang but look what happened with DuMaurier (I think) they were caught colaborating with a US cigarette company (I think it was Phillip Morris but not sure) by sending down cigarettes to the US thus skipping the high Ontario tarrifs on cigarettes but then sending them back up in other covert ways and these cigarettes would get back on the black market.
