Only difference is, I haven't read any stories of the PS updates bricking systems like I have on the 360.
But I agree, some of the updates have been a PITA.
A lot of the people who bought 60s (myself included) would rather have the 60s at the same price because of the hardware. The 60s included the Graphics Synthesizer + Emotion Engine from PS2, so backwards compatibility is near 100%
It gave them the opportunity, but few have stepped up. There's a decent amount of Wii software now, but the very large majority is pure crap. Most companies just threw out as much crap as possible hoping it would stick.
I bought a Wii in February and have purchased two games. There's one more I want, but I'm playing through the VC original (Paper Mario).
Clarus is one of the longest lasting computer mascots. I just can't believe anyone hates on Clarus' pixelated goodness.
Besides, Clarus had a company named after him, not the other way around.
Oh, I do get it. I just don't want the same pop crap that everyone else buys. I don't listen to top 40 and already have all of the classic rock CDs I need. If I don't hear variety, I just won't buy.
They rail against XM and say the satellite companies don't pay their fair share of royalties. I hate to break it to them, but the variety my friends and I have heard on XM has resulted in our purchasing more CDs in the year we've had XM than the previous five years of FM radio listening.
Who really cares. Unless you buy the uber expensive brands, they're not that expensive.
Just like the PS3, as long as it has an HDMI port and doesn't require you to use a proprietary connection, I don't care having to pick up my own.
Why not build it in for the elite version? Now, you not only have to worry about adding a drive on, but you have to search to get on that's the same color.
I'm as big of a Sony fan as there is, but there's one hell of a Jobs patented Reality Distortion Field in effect. They really discount the huge effect of the DS on the portable market and the lack of a first party PS3 killer app.
I was very excited by the PS3's release. I've been a PS and PS2 owner and extremely happy with both.
I contemplated waiting in line to get a PS3, but decided against it. I'm now glad I did.
Currently, there's only 1 game I want to play, R:FoM. I'm not eager to buy a PS3 for it because of the lack of a scaler in the PS3. I have an early HDTV that only does 480p and 1080i. I'm not spending $600 for a next gen system that allows only 480p on the game I want to play.
I'm sure I'll have a PS3 for the release of FFXIII. I'm just not that interested now. If the PS3 had a scaler, maybe. IMHO, Sony dropped the ball by not providing a scaler like MS did *last year.*
The way Microsoft kicked the XBOX to the curb as quickly as possible after the 360 was released after such as short lifespan is a disservice to their customers.
Some of the best PS2 games are coming out as or after the PS3 is released. The PS2 was released a year before the XBOX and has lasted a least a year past.
Sure, it keeps the fanbois and enthusiasts happy, but they don't win the console wars.
That's exactly what it means. But look at it this way, if Blu-Ray fails, your PS3 is still an incredible game machine. If HDDVD fails, your XBOX360 add-on is a useless piece of plastic.
Obviously, Sony is pushing Blu-Ray because of the upside for their A/V business. Obviously Microsoft is doing the same with HDDVD since they're one of the founders (and because Sony supports the other).
What's taking so long to get quality Wii titles out? This is pretty much the same system as the Gamecube. Coding for it should be easy by now.

Hardware is 98-99%. Software is ~ 90%, but most of the big games are fine.

God Hand is a pretty badly made game that seems to have found some degree of a cult following since it found its way to the $20 bin.
I still can't believe that one's exclusive.

By stopping supply of Wiis to Gamestop.

Are you talking about XBOX backwards compatibility?
And IIRC, the GBA also had a pretty good Christmas. It sold 850,000 in December. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?i d=155061

Guitar Hero's not playable on PS3 anyway since the controller won't work. DDR might be if you have a USB controller.

Same crappy programming. Can't they figure out, it's not the sound quality of satellite radio, it's the programming.
