Maybe. Probably depends on market penetration of Vista at that point. Especially in the business sector. If it's not where MS needs it to be, they will continue to support XP, at least with security patches.

"That would be the point of view of Xbox 360 owners only, correct?"
Or just the view of people caught up in the hype. Their excessive marketing for the game annoys me.
To me, bigger games have come out this year and there may yet be a few on the horizon. My next 360 game purchase won't be Halo3. Maybe when it hits the bargain bin. Maybe they will have a demo and I can give it a try to see if that would change my mind.
Got what he deserved? He stood up for his rights and you're calling him a loser? What's wrong with you? It's a bummer he couldn't follow through. Shall we all not bother with our rights because doing so isn't convenient?
What happens when it's something more important to you than showing a cop your ID? Will you accept those in authority doing something unlawful and taking your liberties?
Oh indeed, but keep in mind the art was not created with Raytracing in mind. I think these examples would be a little more interesting with art assets that were meant for that rendering type.
I think a greater challenge would simply to define art. That's a bit philosophical and certainly subjective. Is Bioshock art? Absolutely. As Tycho put it (http://www.penny-arcade.com/2007/08/15) "If Bioshock isn't "art," then art is the poorer for it." To my mind, Tycho is absolutely correct.
Games are art. As much as any book, any song or any painting. Games are a compilation of all three of those. And just like books, music or paintings, some are of greater or lesser value to the viewer/listener than others.
It's also a bad way to convince kids to get better grades. In this case I'd say you're better off rewarding kids for good grades then punishing them for bad ones. On another note, he's not the parent of my child. He should stick to doing his job, and I'll do mine.
And if I give my child permission to go buy a game and the store won't sell because her grades aren't up to par, do you think I'm going to give them my business? Nope.
"But doesn't stealing something require taking it *WITHOUT* permission?"
Ah, but does Trent have the "rights" to give permission? He might, I don't know. I'm sure there are plenty of artists who don't.
Indeed they do. And you can go and turn MP3 playing back on. For LG phones it's as simple as pressing OK to open the Menu, press 0, enter the service code which is probably 000000 and then scroll down to Music Settings and turn MP3 on. There are other goodies in there too.
You will also need to purchase a data cable to actually transfer your media from your computer to the Phone and can use software such as Bitpim to make transfer.
"...a M$ salesman told me if I was running Linux I had to release to source code to my website."
Did you show him the view source button on your browser?
As I recall, Valve released the source code before the game was even out =). Seriously though, there is a lot of commercial software out there on Linux where the source (no pun intended) is not available. Though with a game like HL2 which thrives on Mods, you at least get the ability to mess with portions of the code.
Sounds about right. Though I don't think the TV/Movie star is dead quite yet. But perhaps some people get a little more entertainment out of something that is a little more real. Any idiot with a video camera can make a movie. And sometimes those idiots are quite entertaining.
I really dislike it when people rate a game down because of no form of multi-player. Should we rate a strictly multi-player game down for not having any single player?

A friend of mine tried the game out when he came over the other day. He enjoyed the hacking mini game. I prefer to just buy things out or use an auto-hack.
"I think that they ought to sell the AO-rated Manhunt 2 online and have the M-rated one in stores."
They probably would if they could. However it is my understanding that Microsoft and Nintendo do not allow AO games. MS and Nintendo have to sign the game as neither consoles will run unsigned code (without being hacked or being a developer console). So basically the developers are out of luck and can only release a M rated version.
Now if they make a PC port, there won't be an issue with an AO or un-rated version.

You know, if I hadn't already been playing Bioshock you said one thing that would have made this game a must buy for me. You said it was comparable to Heritic/Hexen. When I played those games right when they came out, they were superb. After playing those games I did the same thing you just did; they could have done X better. Sure they could have, but that doesn't change that the game was great.
I'm certainly be playing through again and making some different choices.
I do agree on one point. Why would you just jab that needle in your arm? It would have made more sense if Atlas had said "Would you kindly..."
"Hey editors, can we scale back on the ManHunt Slashvertising a bit?"
I think you have completely missed the point of this discussion. The developer has been forced to censor their game so they could get it released. I understand that you don't actually care about this game, but do you care about censorship?
This is game industry self censorship. Of that I'm glad. At least it's not the government. But I can't help wonder about outside influence. I can't help wonder about the people who came to the decision that the original should be AO. Basically I'd like to see the artists presentation unaltered.
"they are denying the Web site operator revenue"
I call bullshit. The author made the poor assumption that a person visiting the website will click on Ads and buy something. Detecting a browser or extensions may get rid of "free loaders" and cut down on a little bandwidth, but it isn't going to pay the bills or instil any good will with potential visitors.
"Whatever you do, don't waste your time trying to be a game developer."
To be perfectly honest, if I could I would hit you over the head for being an for being a complete troll. If somebody wants be a game developer, I fully support them. Go for it! There are of course potential pitfalls, but that's true with any vocation.
More to the point. It's a public filing. He made porn available in a public place. Won't someone think of the children! No seriously.
Maybe. Probably depends on market penetration of Vista at that point. Especially in the business sector. If it's not where MS needs it to be, they will continue to support XP, at least with security patches.
Master Chief now wears diapers.

I initially read the researcher as William Shatner. Had me confused for a second.

I can see it now. But honey, it was just a Google ad!
Can you tell me where to find the nukeweer wessels? The nuke-we-er wess-sels. Hey, I'm talking to you!
