    If you want "folder" in GMail juste use one tag.

    By that time they had enough transistor to just put everything inside the same silicon chip, faster, cheaper.

    Today, every CPU have an IEEE floating point unit.
    To say we don't have maths co-proc is misleading.

    It is the window manager that must kept
    the starting program in the correct virtual screen.

    Sure the app doesn't know about virtual bla bla.
    But the window manager know (for sure!)
    and could unmap/remap the window as it wish.

    When you hit a control to minimize a window,
    or change virtual desktop, the window manager
    is actually doing the work like map/unmap window.

    Do the same with starting application.
    The window manager know that mozilla is started
    in desktop 1, the if the app request to be mapped
    ti your screen and your are actually in desktop 2,
    don't map it! or unmap it whatever so that it
    is not in desktop 2.
    (and don't switch me to desktop 1 like they
    do recently. as bad as puting it in desktop 1
    or popup/popunder banner)

    actually they removed from it from
    win2000 and winXp.

    You cannot do it on a "modern" windows without
    messing with the registry (and you must know
    where to change it, explain it to your mom!)

    It a standard complain,
    and that's why there is 3rd party
    tool to do it.

    Sad :o(

    BTW: I friend of mine wiped it's partition
    table by inserting a "music" CD from someone else.
    The second session had a .exe with a nice virus.

    Moral: never ever keep this stupid autorun
    *mis*feature.

    I find that Ogg at 64kbit/s VBR (variable-bit-rate)
    beat mp3 at 128kbit/s (constant-bit-rate)

    That mean 50% saving already.
    And for broadcast that don't need high quality
    you should check Ogg as low as Ogg 32 kbit/s VBR.
    Astounding!

    I made my test with mp3 vs Ogg from 32 kb/s to
    ~200 kb/s and ogg beat mp3 at low bit rate.
    (at high bit rate any codec will do anyways...)
    When I say beat I mean "kick the crap out of mp3
    really hard!" 32 kb/s to 64 kb/s mp3 is a no-no
    even for my grand mother.

    So why these brodcast doesn't use Ogg ?
    Also it is patent free, and quite well supported.
    (Winamp support it natively and by default)

    (a checkbox to enable/disable JavaScript).

    Evidently if the site contain "pertinent"

    home voting is a no no!

    How could you be sure that nobody
    receive "presure" to vote for a certain
    candidate ?

    A secure place to vote is absolutly needed.
    Did you forget your history ?

    It is way too easy to force people to vote
    with some "presure" (weapon, menace, etc..)

    If they vote in a place where it is controlled
    then "bad" people cannot force other to vote
    for "their guy".

    in only 6 "regions", if at all.
    Diffrence between German and Spanish people is
    as much as between USA the rest of the world.

    Following your argument, why is Germany and
    Spain in the same "region" 2 then ?

    Le people juge for themself what are OK for them,
    what is appropriate for their culture.

    Let's not try to "decide" for them by locking them
    in a pre-decided-cannot-change-it locking of region.

    I'm reading so much houpla about tab-browsing
    I've tried it and I don't find any advantage
    over multi-window.
    In fact I find *many* minus like:
    - no able to alt-tab between "view"
    - Alt-F4 kill all windows (done that)

    I am missing something ?
    could someone explain the "big" plus of
    tab-browsing...

    I run X on Cygwin on a daily basis
    at work, it's on a Pentium 233MMX 128MB ram
    (old dog)

    it's slow but not slower than explorer 5.5
    or office 97 that we use as production environment.

    I find it _VERY_ usable,
    get me a descent shell, vim, ssh, etc..
    and an X server that cost 0$, + no licence problem.
    (comparing to eXceed or GoGlobal)

    YMMV
    (but on a pentiumIII 700MHZ it must fly)

    I'm trying to upgrade mozilla 0.8
    from my default install of Mandrake 8.0

    and because of tangle dependance of RPM
    I can't go to mozilla 0.9 or 0.9.1

    !!

    anyone have the same problem ?

    That's not the point.

    The point is: when, how much faster and
    how much it will cost, by whom (Intel, AMD ?)
    etc, etc..
