at all since you can get applications like PDA Net that by pass the anti-tethering measures that are taken by any carrier.

I tether my Dell Streak 5 all the time using it and I have no issues.
I beta tested Windows 8 and it is not ready. It actually "killed my computer" by that I mean when I installed the beta release trial it worked fine for a couple of days, then I started having issues with video, for some reason no matter what my power settings were set to my monitor would go to sleep after 5 minutes. I went to the forums asked for help, and got several answers from Microsoft forum moderators. I tried them all and none of them resolved the issue. Then a couple of days later I was writing some code and my computer shut down (which seems to be normal with a windows system) so I powered it back on and is shut off immediately again. So, I cracked the case open to see if my video card or something had come unseated. When I grabbed my video card to check it, it was so hot that it burned me. I waited for it to cool, unseated it, fell back to my on-board video card, and powered her back up. I then realized that not only did it fry my video card but my 4 core processor was now only running on one core. Here are my system specs for those curious.
Black Edition AMD Phenom II X4 965 3.4ghz Processor
Asus Motherboard model M4A785-M
4gb (2gb x 2gb)Crucial Ballistix DDR2 RAM
ATI Radon HD 3600 Series 512mb Dual DVI Out Video Card
Western digital 250gb IDE Hard Drive
Thermaltake 430w Power Suply
With that said I would highly recommend staying away from Windows 8 for a while to come!
Technically our bodies have a hand in producing Oxygen. We breath out CO2 which plants use to produce Oxygen so, technically we are part of the Oxygen production process.
but in light of this new evidence I have to say that Apple has Samsung dead to right. Before you mark this as Troll please know that I am the exact opposite of an Apple fan-boy. I don't own a single Apple device and every device I do own is an Android! I just have to say that the evidence in that PDF where Samsung Engineers are comparing the Galaxy S xx 's functionality to the I Phone's functionality is undeniable! They clearly were modeling there device after the iPhone without a doubt.
Sorry Samsung, but if you are going to cheat at least be smart enough to not get caught! At first I thought that it was silly, I had even made posts in other Slashdot articles stating that you shouldn't be able to patent something as simple as a shape, but now I realize that it isn't just about the shape. It is about the package as a whole and Samsung was definitely copying.
Trying, to stop "piracy" is so pointless. The people who typically "pirate" music and the likes don't have the money to purchase legal copies anyway, so record labels are not losing any money by these people getting free copies, because they would never have purchased the music anyway therefore it can't be a loss. People like me that have the money to buy music pay for it and the people that don't will get it for free. It is no different from when we were kids, waiting for a song we liked to come on the radio, and then we would press record on the cassette recorder. No, one came after us then for "pirating". We were just kids that had no money and wanted to listen to an artist that we liked. However having no money didn't stop us from saving all our allowances to buy tickets to the Cure concert when they came around, but how would be have known that we wanted to go if we didn't "pirate" the music so we could listen to it to start with. The probably make more money with all the "pirating" going on than they would if there was a way to control "pirating". It is all so stupid and pointless.
Let's be realistic here. No one should be able to patent a shape as basic as a rounded rectangle. That is like patenting an if else statement. It is a basic principle and if we allow this kind of crap then eventually no one will be able to make anything but a few companies that own all the patents. This is the same thing as if the first guy to make a land line handset would have patented the shape of the land line handset and no one could make a long rectangle with a speaker on each end. It is just plain stupid or imagine if the very first programming language would have patented the if else statement and no other programming language could use it.
Not true! Have you ever heard the phrase "A picture is worth a thousand words." The reason for this letter is highly justified, and two fold. 1. His book my sell more copies to people who like Jack Daniels because subliminally they see the cover and associate it with something that they like regardless of whether it is whiskey or not 2. If the book is horrible and doesn't sell well the reverse affect may apply and Jack Daniels may sell less whiskey to people who didn't like the book (At least in theory). So, Jack Daniels is just being prudent and preventing this ripple affect in advance.
I think we all come as close to grammatically correct as we can when posting comments, blogging, or whatever the case may be. However, some people choose to be lazy if they feel comfortable with their audience. I'm not the type of person to be a grammar Nazi (those type of people remind me of the "Soup Nazi" episode of Seinfeld) and I guess that is why it doesn't bother me.
If it is a blog article, news-paper column, term paper, or anything of semi-importance then yes otherwise it doesn't matter. Come one people let's use some common sense here. Tweets are supposed to be peoples thoughts that they share with everyone via the twitter website. So, do you think in grammatically correct sentences? If not then leave the guy the hell alone!:P
Amen Brother! From what I can understand they did try to use any and all US sources that they could, as the post I am replying to stated. It's not Google's fault if the US doesn't make something that they need. It's not like they will fund a Startup to build something that they couldn't buy here. Let's be realistic, the shear fact that they had anything done here is amazing!!!! Walk into Best Buy, Micro Center, Walmart or any other major retail store and try and find even one product that was completely made in the USA I dare you!
for someone who is really into Face Book it might be desirable, that is assuming that it will have special features, pertaining to face book, that you can't get on any flavor of android Face Book app. I mean if it has some sort of built in face book GUI that is much better than android apps in comparison, has ways to manage games such as Farmville and the likes I can actually see it being a hit regardless of phone quality based solely on the ease of Face Book management.
It really is all about quality control with LED anything. LEDs will essentially last as long as they claim if
1. The LED is made with quality in mind
2. The wiring is done with quality in mind
3. The housing is made with quality in mind
Think about it. How many of you have old 1st and 2nd generation NVidia or Radion video cards laying around? I know I do. How many of those video cards have burnt out power indicator LEDs? None of mine do. I have a 1st Generation NVidia card before it was called NVidia it's a VooDoo card and all it's LEDs still function. LEDs will last a long time, maybe even longer than 20 years if the rest of the bulb is built correctly. The problem is these things are made in Chinese sweat shops where all that they care about is how many of these can be made in an hour.
Okay, even if you could copyright a programming language, which would make the language pointless except for use by the owner, once you deem something open source that makes copyrighting it not an option. That is like a candy store owner saying "Here little boy would you like a free candy bar" the little boy says "Sure I'll take a free candy bar." Then the owner calls security and says that the little boy stole the candy bar and demands payment. I CALL SHENANIGANS!
Amen! Lets see a real comparison. I want to see what all of the Android device manufactures combined are making on their phones combined with what all of the pay apps are making on the market, and what Google makes off of all the advertisements. Apple does it all which is why they appear to be making much more but in actuality this is an apples to dog crap comparison. Lets get the math straight here people!
See, I actually put a piece of electrical tape over the camera on my work issued IBM machine because our corporate load of windows takes a picture every time you log into the machine. I discovered this because one day, while doing a drive scan for Trojans, I came across a hidden folder that contained a bunch of images of me that I didn't remember taking. Then I noticed that there was essentially enough images in the folder for one to have been captured every time I logged into my machine. So, I tested it. I logged out of my laptop, logged back in, and sure enough there was a new image of me in the folder. So, I deleted all the images, covered over the built in webcam, and it has been that way ever since.
I mean come on if you are going to be sneaky about taking pictures of someone at least be sneaky enough to super hide the folder. Any Joe blow who knows just enough about computers to be dangerous can find a hidden folder.:p
Bills are so crammed full of stuff that has nothing to do with what the bill claims to be about, and this will always be the case. The only way this will change is if a reform act is passed to limit bills to one subject. If bills were limited to one subject, and only one subject, then things would be clear, concise, and easily voted up or down. The reason why this will never happen is that there would be no way for politicians to slip there little pork barrels in anywhere.
...DUH!

Hey, FU Apple Fanboy!
Let the race for a old style to new style jack converter begin.

Turn it off? Who turns their computers off? Uptime: 3481 day(s), 6 hour(s), 33 minute(s) :P

Yes, it is! It is the programming language for LEGO Mindstorm and I have used it.

Mac Mini Media Center http://osxdaily.com/2010/03/22/how-to-setup-a-mac-mini-as-a-media-center-server-and-remote-torrents-box/ Now this can be cheap or expensive depending on the Mac Mini that you buy but I see Mac Mini's all day long on Ebay for a couple hundred bucks.
