  1. Re:As a non-driver on People Prefer Angry-Faced Cars · · Score: 1

The biggest of this is, when I'm cuising down the fast lane (my driving habits didn't change all that much, actually these days I tend to cruise a bit slower), people tend to get out of my way much quicker.

When I'm in the fast lane, I know my car can go faster than an old Ford behind me, so I dont give way. I simply accelerate. When I see a BMW or some other fast vehicle behind me I know I cant out run it, so I give way. Simple.

  7. Re:Nothing wrong with orchestral on The Blending of Music and Games · · Score: 2, Interesting

Some of the music by Microsoft Games is superbly made, like the Age of Empires/Mythology series, Rise of Nations and even Halo. Its either a freak coincidence or, unlikely as it may sound, they must have someone good up there in charge of the music. Valve and Nintendo are also pretty good with their music. Rockstar mostly uses licensed tracks for their games, but their selection is superb.

  8. Licensed Music? on The Blending of Music and Games · · Score: 1

The recent success of music games in the West has been based mostly on licensed music.

I disagree. That may be true for Guitar Hero and similar games, but I think the majority of games feature original music. Exceptions include games adapted from movies, which mostly feature the OST of the movie and karaoke type games.

  9. Re:No, the real trick on Election Dirty Tricks About To Begin · · Score: 1
Very true. Reminds me of Lord Dorwin in the Foundation by Asimov where symbolic logic is used to remove the clutter from language. This is said of the politicians:

"The analysis was the most difficult of the three by all odds. When Holk, after two days of steady work, succeeded in eliminating meaningless statements, vague gibberish, useless qualifications; in short, all the goo and dribble, all he found he had nothing left. Everything canceled out." "Lord Dorwin, gentlemen, in five days of discussion didnt say one damned thing, and said it so you never noticed.

This is what we should be doing, instead of quibbling over small things like creationism and Paris Hilton. We should launch several satellites orbiting each planet and few satellites for some of the more interesting moons(Europa, io etc)
