    The picture in question is of a page in Apple's Service Source Manual. That cannot be reproduced and still have the same effect (IE instructions to Apple techs).

    Just make it an extension that's installed by default. Savvy users can easily remove it if they so choose.

    Yes, you are quite correct. It's about $50,000 for a new base station and rover. The small surveying outfit I work for has a Trimble setup that we got used.

    Actually survey-grade equipment can give real-time positions within about 1cm via RTK GPS.

    I just put a new site online. About 4 or 5 days after submitting it to google, it was the number one hit when searching for the title of the site.

    Macs don't have hibernation. They have sleep and that only takes a couple seconds to fully wake from.

    I have a 2-port IOGEAR Miniview USB KVM switch that was about $100 with cables a couple of years ago. It works excellent.

    The computer that my library got from the Gates Foundation has an account like that on win2k (and now XP; free upgrade). All settings revert and all data that was added (via download or disc for example) is erased.

    Professional Surveyor Magazine ran a decent article a month ago explaining the modernization of the GPS constellation.

    They claim that Block IIR-M (which includes the first of two new civilian signals) satellites will be launched in 2004, so this may very well be one of those. Block IIF (includes the second new civilian signal with a much higher power) won't be launched until 2006.

    After the new currency is out they can allow a 5-10 year period for all insecure bills to be no longer accepted.
    Section 102 of the Coinage Act of 1965 (Title 31 United States Code, Section 392) provides in part:

    " All coins and currencies of the United States, regardless of when coined or issued, shall be legal tender for all debts, public and private, public charges, taxes, duties and dues."
