Greetings rookie! We'll get to playing shortly, however there's a lot of preparation we need to do. There are uncollected balls all over the field and someone needs to pick them up. Come back with 10 of them and we should be ready to start pre-season training. Be careful though, there are some hostile umpires out there who don't like players on the field before the game starts. Accept quest?

Well you're probably missing the other major category of unhealthiness caused by massive amounts of poly-unsaturated fats used in frying (not a heat stable oil) and as preservatives in foods these days. Back in the good-old-days(tm) more saturated fats were used than mono- and polys-.

But that's a whole other head of the multi-headed beast that is poor health, agribusiness and the corporations.

  11. South Korean Console Market? on 80 Gig PS3 For South Korea, Slow April for Sony · · Score: 1

Isn't the S. Korean console market typically not a big winner since they are historically PC gamers primarily? I believe they have (had?) ridiculous tariffs related to (Japanese) video game consoles, leaving pretty much no competition for the PC market. This is about the sum of it, we've been sterilizing like crazy during the 20th century due to the fact we started shipping foods long distances. Now with the advent of refridgeration, stainless steel containers and other clean (not sterilizing) technologies, we really don't have to do about 75% of the sterilization techniques we use to basically 'kill' food.

I'm a big fan of raw (goat usually) milk in particular, tons of probiotics, enzymes, nutrients, etc... From a clean, well-regulated, preferebly low-density dairy, this stuff probably beats Activa 20 times over and is likely that much cheaper. Also for the paranoid folks worried about infection, etc.. some of the success stories describe state-regulated raw milk samples as being lower in pathogenic count than pasteurized samples. (too lazy to dig up reference, see link below for more info)

Check out http://www.realmilk.com/ for a rundown on raw unpasteurized milk for yourself. Cheers!

  20. Ugh... bad headline/article matchup on CES 2007: Gaming Roundup · · Score: 2, Insightful
So anyway, fanboyism aside, here's a link directly off the CES website of the list of CES Innovation Honorees for gaming tech:

    http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awards/innovations /rd_2007honorees.asp?category=110

This should hopefully give people a better idea to folks that there were a whole bunch of interesting gaming technology being shown there and that although Sony won best of category (http://www.cesweb.org/attendees/awards/innovation s/rd_2007honorees.asp?boi=1), they were just one of 11 honorees.

Hardly a roundup, if you just pick the fattest bull out of the herd and let the rest of the valuable cattle get away (the article did pay attention to the Headplay viewer, something I'm not sure made any honoree list.. basic searches don't come up with anything so far).

Also, CNet (http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-12760_7-6676861-1.ht ml?tag=bubbl_1) has their own awards too. I only mention them because they are at least the most officially attached media outlet to the event it seems.
