    I work at a call center that is open 24/7 and they do the same. It just a given that there will be times where paper is used instead of the pc when you work nights.

    As someone who does medical tech repairs I would very much appreciate a response like that so I can close the issue (on my side) that much faster for non-compliance.

    Seems better than me arguing the first 2 minutes that I am not trying to sell them something or steal their children.

    That is bullshit to except a user to know that.

    If microsoft or the software company expected people to think on those terms then instead of labeling it XP they should have labeled it for kernel 5.1.

    And we keep hearing that service pack 2 was more or less "a whole new OS" so the dates theory wouldn't fly either.

    Most of those are no more "separate" distributions than the Debian that I have installed.

    The are mostly the same (Debian/SuSe/Fedora/Slack/Gentoo) as their base, just with a different choice of default packages.

    You could join the Red Cross or Salvation Army or any one of a number of peaceful organizations to go out and help as well.

    I believe that we are doing the right thing or at least trying to. But the constant reports of our failures and glorifying any victory that they make is only empowering them.

    Why is it that when an insurgent walks into a market square and blows himself up along with 50 others it isn't reported that they are making people less tolerant to these fanatics?

    I know whenever a US troop screws up we have to hear that.

    Or John Doe? I don't even watch a Fox show during its first season anymore. I know I am not helping the shows rating, but at the same time I am not left with cliffhangers and twists never to come to fruition.

    Actually, while John Doe wasn't the best show ever, it was good and typing this makes me mad at Fox all over again

    I saw the "pit scene" coming as well, but was trying not to due to how much I liked that character. Fortunately - or unfortunately - the whole island is basically a Deus ex machina so we'll see what the long there results are.
