  1. Which is why the government needs to get out of the way.

Of course businesses will use legislation to help itself. Giving more power to the government when it is already as entrenched with big corporations is not the answer

  2. Wrong. Other ISPs can't even reach the last mile due to local regulations/deals

  3. The government let this merger happen. That is the opposite of regulation. Of course, in the bizarro world of libertarians, government not stopping a merger is somehow another government regulation.

Yes the government needing to approve something in order for it to get done would be considered regulation. I guess in your bizarro world, it's only a regulation if the government says no to a request.

  4. Way to show your open mindedness.

I'm sure you'll just cuss at me about how some things (which in reality is probably a ton of things for you) don't need someone to be open minded.

Because there are lots of movies I neither like nor despise... and there are movies I like and movies I really, really like. None of that can be expressed with a "like/hate" or "good/bad" 2-point scale.

Let's say you watched two movies in a row and you really liked both a lot. Under a 5-star system you would rate them both a "5", which means you cannot express through the rating which one you liked more. But instead of a 5-star rating, if you were asked to choose whether you liked the second one more (thumbs up) or less (thumbs down) than the first movie, you could provide that missing information.

This only works if the two movies you saw in a row where in the same genre (and other factors - for example some movies are more fun watching with a crowd.)

How could I honestly compare a gritty depressing drama or action comedy?

If it's possible for illegals to obtain what passes for welfare benefits in the US, then perhaps the US benefits system needs to be fixed. In other countries I've lived in, you're required to show proof that you're a citizen or legal resident before the social assistance people will even talk to you for help with anything other than maybe a one-way ticket home

so you support bring refugee children in and then starving them and denying them medical treatment?

I know that's not what your saying but I guarantee that would be the next argument
