The coolest thing about ssh is the versatility you get out of one open port. You can login, cp, and ftp securely, with only one port open; additionally, you can tunnel any other port you want. ssh is great for securing vnc.
It's not even hard to find a client. Modern Linux and BSD systems mostly have it, and if you're using Windows, you can download PuTTY and use it without even having to install it and make a mess. Great if you're a guest on somebody else's system.
Kerosene, Diesel, and #2 home heating oil are substantially the same. Personally, I'd like to run Biodiesel in my boiler, but it's not available locally, and I haven't the patience nor the time to brew my own.
If you're really in a pinch, you could run your diesel on straight vegetable oil (google for SVO or "straight vegetable oil"), but without modification, you can't do it long-term.
In 2004, the president authorized loans from the reserve to help refiners make up for missing supplies when Hurricane Ivan struck...After Hurricane Ivan struck the Gulf of Mexico in September 2004, the administration loaned about 5.4 million barrels of crude oil from the reserve to five companies. It was repaid by April 2005.
While I'm not interested in discussing Bush politics, it looks like a good thing that he's been stockpiling oil.
Okay, I'll feed the troll, as I agree about older versions. I've found OOo 1.14 to be inferior to modern versions of MS Office, myself. It was slow and unstable, and lacked functionality, IME. I kept trying to give it a chance, and finally gave up.
Have you tried OOo 2.0 beta yet? It kicks ass. It's quick, stable, smaller footprint than MS Office, has all the functionality I've ever used from MS Office, as well as features that I need that AREN'T in MS Office.
If all that wasn't enough, it handles almost every oddball, complex previously created MS Office file I feed it. I have some spreadsheets and Word templates that I'd never expect to work in OOo, but all except one work perfectly.
Wanting to print in booklet form, I downloaded a MS Word template, and it works fine in OOo 2.0 beta under Suse. The template in question is at http://rickyspears.com/blog/?p=76 . However, I've found that it may not be necessary -- it appears that the functionality is built in to OOo, in the form of some of it's print options.
New Acura RL just has a key fob that you keep in your pocket. As long as it's near the car, the car will start and run. There is no key, no direct contact. You don't even need to use a key to get in; you merely approach the car (key fob in pocket) and touch the door handle, and it unlocks by the time you've pulled the handle far enough.
I'll bet you could just record and playback the frequency used by it to take the car.
How do we even know that we CAN repair the ozone hole?
Electric motors create ozone. Maybe we should all get electric cars...then we'll have too much ozone...then we'll all have to use lots of aerosol cans...
You've entirely missed my point. Opera, with the features all programmed in the main package, is not bloated. FF, with 93 third-party extensions stuck to it, gets to be rather bloated.
Most of the features in question existed in Opera long before somebody made an extension for FF. In fact, there's quite a few FF extensions whose name or description refers to Opera.
My FF has 93 extensions, at least half of which are features that are standard in Opera. I won't bother to discuss startup and page load speeds.
Are you calling Microsoft a liar? Those nasty Linux companies, like Red Hat or Novell/SUSE charge you a fee for support.
He goes on to describe why Windows is more expensive through purchase cost in your computer and in additional software. He fails to mention that Microsoft charges for support after two calls:
2 support request(s) submitted online or by a phone call are included at no charge. Unlimited installation support is available by phone at no charge.
(866) 234-6020 All additional support requests are $35.00 US per request or use an existing contract
I was under the impression that eDonkey is what everybody uses for file sharing these days, and that BitTorrent was mostly used for software distribution (Free and Open Source, mostly).
You arrive on the island of naked women (with real nice tits)...you fall into a giant pit. There are lots of handholds out, however, there is lube all over them. Lots of lube.
Don't forget that the real nice tits keep getting in your way as you try to grab the handholds...
...use ultrasonic waves in the dazzler not to just blind enemies, but also to convey messages into their heads, similar to Gibbs's Medusa project. Hearing voices from God is a "big thing" in Arab culture, according to Bitar. "We flash-blind them. And, while their eyes are shut, you could send a recorded message or deep guttural voice that echoes in the inside of their head. They're looking around, 'Hey, did you hear that?'''
Neato! If it would work, it would be really cool.

How about this:
"it was minimal risk to the Marine Corps to try it." He gave XADS the initial $100,000 (that's "minimal risk" in Pentagonese)

I use ssh, sftp, scp, and vnc over ssh daily.

Anyway, I've got to go out and put together some biodiesel manufacturing equipment or order some home heating oil.

Yes, of course we are. Were you expecting to hitch a ride on it and live forever?
Yes, and fill the spaceship with hairdressers, telephone sanitizers, and middle managers.
What kind of trap?
"Somebody set us up the bomb!"
...I'm afraid somebody must point out the obvious -- this is a joke. The Onion is a comedy paper.
Most importantly, Don't Panic.

Either way, the usb key is already obsolete.
Hey, this could be fun!
..and then he went on to star in a pr0n called "Frankenpenis".
Try a proxy on your computer that runs the html through a cleaner-upper. Or, try Opera, or some other non-Mozilla-derived browser.
Next we'll have slashdotters writing a firefox extension to mine the IP database for porny IPs...

I emailed first thing this morning from three addresses, haven't got a response back. I recommend going to the form if possible.
It wasn't slow for me.

Add a cat & buttered-toast antigrav device, and it would solve all our space exploration problems too.

Step 1: Grow big tits.
Step 2: Learn self-oral technique.
Step 3: Gratification!

I mean, making what seems like a holiday for open source...next it will become a religion...
Ummm...Oh yeah. Nevermind. Too late.
I, for one, welcome our new Sri Lankan Open Source Celebrating Overlords.
