You aren't watching enough HD. Almost all national sports (and lots of local sports here) are in HD. I have HBO/Showtime HD, INHD1/2, HDNET1/2, Discovery HD, ESPN HD, all the HD PBSes, and all the local HD stations (almost all of primtime is HD now)....
I have an HD PVR through TWC (extra $6/month, if it breaks it's not my problem). HDTV sucks if you aren't watching HD signal (rips from the internet don't count!)
Most of my favorite shows, and most of the sports I watch is all HD, so it's definately worth it for me!
HD is more than just aspect ratio..it's about the resolution. So in the case of bars I get pissed when I see all those plasmas showing SD, even if it's 4:3 to me because I'm sitting at 30 degrees from center. I probably just get pissed because I'm an HD geek though, not because I can't see the football game:)
I agree -- I don't have kids, and I have never seen or heard a broadcast that has offended me. Sure, I've seen and heard many things that I would not allow my kids to watch/listen if I had any. With the technology that most people have or can get in their house you can protect your kids from this content if you want to...problem is parents are lazy!
Does anyone here believe that anyone, any age, would have been seriously negatively affected by Janet Jackson's super bowl flash had it just happened and no one said anything or made a big deal about it?
Why can't anyone come up with mouse gestures that can compete with Opera? I've tried the mouse gesture plugins for Mozilla/Firefox and Konq but always am unimpressed. The tolerences and the ammount of movement required just don't seem as natural as the Opera gestures. The Opera ones can be quick and small, not 300 px and then exactly 90 degrees and 300 px more.

I find that MS one to be pretty buggy. It will resize my windows everytime I switch desktops. It even creates a lot of little graphics bugs when I switch. Havne't tried Virtuawin, but I'm going to becuase of those issues.
Being able to search your books would be great for studying. Though, I will probably end up just buying the paper books and then downloading the cracked PDF torrent.
Beause everytime a friend's computer gets taken over by spyware/popups/viruses they come to me for help because I'm the known computer geek...so I clean it off and make them use firefox so I don't have to do it again in 2 weeks.

If you have previous programming experience just go through the PHP Manual on their website, that's all you really need if you're trying to pick it up real quick and know how to program.
It's not very hard, get 1 DVI cable, connect from the Box to the TV. The cable will tell the TV what mode to go into, the TV switches automatically as the source changes. I really don't see the problem.
The consumer doesn't *have* to know what 480i/p, 720p or 1080i are, the TV does.
There are a lot of rule changes in the talks. One of them is to have a "standard FIA ECU for the engines". The ECU is the electronics that control the engines. The problem with changes like this is that F1 is supposed to push technology to the limits, but when you let the teams do all kinds of high tech stuff it gets too expensive and you have too much of a divide between the best and worst teams. We'll see if the changes cut costs or make the races more exciting...I just hope that the FIA doesn't forget that F1 should be expenisive and high tech.
Yeah, I'd rather spend $180 on an xbox, and $50 for a modchip...then I can play xbox/snes/nes/N64 games on the couch. I spend 8 hours a day at work on the computer, when I get home I'd rather lay on the couch;)
I guess I missed the clause in the constitution that allows the feds to give everyone internet access? Or do we not pay attention to that old thing anymore...

Why can't IBM just use standard widgets and standard look and feel? It's reallllly ugly, and it's realllly slow.
I agree. I can't leave Linux because I like kmail way more than any Windows clients I can find...

Maybe they've gotten better lately...
Maybe you can try xregal..looks like it works off a local database though.
With a little hacking it might be a good alternative to all those Flash ads.
I can finally get interested in Podcasting...
This came up in the NBA recently....
And more articles from Google...

IMO, high levels of regulation is not an advantage...
It's "Guinness"...
I like it, but I don't like legislators getting used to writing bills dealing with the Internet...
They get their foot in the door and we might be in trouble...

Also, don't forget to watch the USGP this weekend...it's America's only F1 race each year, so don't miss it. Sun. at 1 PM EDT on SpeedTV.

Happy Sweet 1.6E1!!!
How do you video capture with the XBOX? It's not a PVR unless it can record.
