As a former CS player I say it's really nice! Maybe soon enough you will be able to install your own applications and maybe even your own OS into those consoles and hook up extra hardware like network and video cards! Maybe they will even let you change the CPU for better performance! Oh wait....
One thing you need to learn in business. Never say "No". You will look like you are an obstruction, rather than part of the "solution". I've found the way management works is based partially on what I call "happy horseshit", which means that your attitude tends to mean more than facts do. Even if you are correct 100% of the time, if you present that with a negative attitude, you're just as apt to be shunned or even fired as the incompetent people. Indeed, you'll probably be hated more, because the incompetent people might well be amiable idiots.
And who thought we could learn something at slashdot..
I don't know where he lives but I'll tell you what happens here in Brazil. If I want to buy some non-mainstream music I pay 100 USD for Fedex delivery (I don't do cheap delivery anymore because of stolen packages at the mail) and a 50-100% tax on imports over 50 USD (that includes shipping). So if I order 3 CDs it would cost around 150 USD or about 1/3 of brazillian's minimum wage. If I want to download music (illegal) those 3 CDs cost around 1.50 USD (electricity/internet access). Plus there are no penalties for downloading music in Brazil, as in you can't be sued for it.
I see Foxconn is so much better because Apple makes them treat their employees better: Sign a contract so your family doesn't get shit in case you suicide inside your fab. Apple is so nice, and you are so naive:) Apple doesn't give a shit to people (like all the other corporations), but they do care however about getting their product cheap and selling with gorgeous profit margins.
Or, we could bring back what we used to have before the globalists took over circa 1970 and the standard of living here stopped growing: tariffs.
Although, I suppose throwing the globalists out to do that would probably require an armed revolution too.
What you suggest is, fundamentally, stop consuming chinese products. Higher duty means it's more expensive so less people will buy. The biggest problem is that the US were stupid enough to move all the industry to China and collect money on royalties and copyright (which is why the US politicians write more and more laws to make copyright stronger but that's for another story). It did seem like a good idea at the time to make money on IP and offshore al the production, most economists during the 90s endorsed that move and many companies followed that road. Ford and Honda produce a lot of cars in Mexico for the US, I guess Nike has a marketing and R&D dept. on the US but not a single factory. There are many examples. I was in NY last year and I could not find any clothing made in the US, most were from Egypt, China, Vietnam, and others where minimum wage is likely under 300USD (probably even less). For the reasons above you can't just tax every import from China and hope it will be ok, because (1) China would bitch about it to the WTO (2) it would simply cause inflation because there is no industry in the country to supply the demand. I hope this wasn't too confuse (english isn't my first language)
Because the development of a OS isn't something that can be done within a year. Windows 8 won't be here soon, and they probably started working on it at the same time Windows 7 was RTM.
What is the obsession with obnoxious floating headers that always stay at the top of the screen? Whatever utility they provide is outweighed by the fact that it screws up the paging behavior when you hit the spacebar to scroll. It's annoying to have the bottom two lines of text scroll behind the floating bar--not everyone reads to the absolute very, very bottom before hitting space.
That's not really true. Ethanol-only vehicles have been discontinued and now the flex fuel vehicles are the most usual.
You can read more at wikipedia it's pretty complete.
Linux will one day be the dominant OS in all the backend servers, the dominant players in the largest percentage of Embedded devices (including cell phones) and in the future will dominate the desktop.
You sir are a clueless cretin if you actually believe this dongle wouldn't be on sales had it not been for Sony removing OtherOS.
This dongle is for piracy, nothing else....
Simple as that, it does not allow you to boot Linux, and has no legitimate purpose. The backup excuse does not wash either, as Blu-Ray disks are not scratchable like DVD is.
You can eat a dick. You don't tell me what the fuck I do with my console, that I paid with my own money. If I want to fucking burn it, I will. If I want to insert a PSJailbreak in it, I will.
And you go and fuck yourself, along with your "I know what's best for you" logic.
Totally agreed. I scrapped Apple's logo from my iPhone and everybody said I was nuts. "WHAA THE HELL now it looks like iFone China(R)" But I said fuck it it's mine if I want to drive over it with a truck I will.
Anyways, it's still up to them to ban and block you from using their PlayStation Network.

Back in my day it used to be sex.. Maybe I'm out of touch these days..
I don't really know/care.
Posted from my Nexus S
Not as open as Apple's

... I don't care what the performance is because I wouldn't own one if Sony GAVE it to me.
Did you mean licensed?
Mirrors anyone?

I prefer mine with sugar.
I guess he is comparing to [INSERT ANY SONY PRODUCT HERE]. [caps filter error]
Looks Way Better than "change the numbers to get MS points"
I heard they have a landline you can call and it reads the code for you

Not in Chrome

PS: I also own a ps3.
It's a shame that AT&T held a gun to Jobs head to force Apple to sign an exclusive agreement with them.
Poor Steve had to sign a deal with ATT and receive bazillon dollars in return. I almost feel sorry for him
