I am curious. Assuming of the many the many religions of the world, if one of them were correct and your observations/assumptions of life and spiritual existence were wrong, would you want to know the truth and have a change of "heart"?
There is a small percentage of Christians, such as myself, who adamantly believe in both evolution and Christianity. We believe that scripture must be read and interpreted through a context that understands that scripture should be interpreted by first considering the culture of the original audience. As such, we believe that the "historical" aspect of the Biblical account of creation isn't as important as understanding the purpose and point of all of "creation", humankind and who we are in relation to our creator.
My intent is not to lecture on the creation of mankind. Instead, I am interested in knowing if you've ever spoken or debated much with other Christians who have similar beliefs as myself. For many of us, evolution is unquestionable! However, the sheer existence of such truth does not exclude the fact that a creator couldn't have been a part in the process.
Much of your Christian (or other religious) interactions that I've observed tend to involve arguing against the most commonly propagated beliefs of creationism. I am interested in your thoughts, on such a different perspective, as my own. Please comment.
Thank you so much.
My wife and I were just as floored at this movie as everyone else appears to be and we've yet to get over how wonderful a film it was/is. We are the type of people who rarely see films but we make it a point to go see Pixar movies because so far they've been quite enjoyable. We are even considering going back and seeing it again, which says a lot when we see only 2-3 films a year.
I wanted to pick up for my wife a little gift and get a Wall-E figurine or some type of toy and I wanted another one to sit by my vintage R2D2 on my desk. Much to my surprise, you can't find Wall-E toys in any store, ANYWHERE (other than the internet). I've searched multiple Targets and [grudgingly] Wal-Marts and I couldn't find anything. The only thing that I found was a book in Books-a-Million and the video game.
I guess Ratitoule didn't earn enough from it's merchandise that most stores decided that it wasn't worth purchasing the product.
Where in the summary/linked articles is it suggested that tin whiskers are a fiction?
Uh... there isn't one because this was an 'Ask Slashdot' post. The intent is that someone wrote in and is asking the slashdot community if this is fact or fiction.
You must be new here...
I only responded to this comment because it's marked +5 Insightful. Come on!
I'm looking at the screen shots and I'm wondering with a couple of them-- What's up with the jaggies? Is it really that difficult to implement a little anti-aliasing on the edges of the apps when you apply certain effects?
To be fair, the best comparison of Molyneux is George Lucas who as we all know made 3 amazing movies and then made some mediocre sequels.
Correction, 6 great movies. I assume you are referring to STAR WARS. The Indiana Jones trilogy was pretty awesome as well. Everything after the last IJ has been the ruin of the Lucas reputation.
I would be the nerd to agree with you but there is one problem-- testing. Assuming you had the time/budget/brains to do this, the project would break down at the testing phase. Testing the drive could inadvertantly ruin the disks for various reasons. If you only have a handful of disks that you'd like to save, it's not worth the effort if there is a chance that the data will be lost for good.
I had the same thought and I was planning on posting a response with such a sentiment. Here is another way of looking at it. If ISPs and government organizations find to expensive to run a tiny, glass thread to every home (a fiber-optic cable for the slower ones) for the sake of advancing our current information infrastucture, what in the world makes you think any organization or government would attempt to embark on a system like this? Tunneling is expensive, especially when you consider the "last mile" concept that has stalled the advancement of fiber-optics for homes to this scenario. Such a project would be far more expensive that running fiber optic cable to every home.
Nice thought, but at best it's not practical for anything other than huge governmental or corporate compounds with massive funding.
I kind of the concept of paying for ammo if ammo is reasonably priced and all other upgrades are free. The reason is because there is no advantage to paying lots of money for the in-game commodity and a gamer can purchase just enough to satisfy there fill of the game. Casual gamers can purchase $15 worth for a years worth of play, while hard-core gamers can spend the $15 a month.
And in a some-what related tangent, I really think all of this news has to be bad for SONY. It seems that every other day there is some news article out there in regards to some awesome use of the PS3, except it doesn't involve games!
It's been my understanding that most console manufacturers lose money with each system that is sold and then, in turn, profit from game sales and licensing. If people are buying PS3s for everything but gaming it really has to be eating a hole in SONY's pockets.
Simple they will remain at $500 (if they exists). Purchasers will see both for $500 and opt for the 60GBer because its the same price and has more space. Retailers will place them side-by-side in the kiosks so that their buyer will surely see the two models and will draw the conclusion.
That, my friend, is how they clean out your old stock. I've seen GameStop do this type of thing before with New games that are old rather frequently. They actually drop the price of new games that are no longer available from the distributor to the price of the used game. This quickly sells their stock and frees up the real estate in the new games section for games that have recently been released.
Which raises my question, will the receiver of the phone call know that they are being eavesdropped upon? What about their rights? Idiots occasionally call me and I don't want to have to worry about this.
BTW, I didn't RTFA. The answer could already be in there.
I think I originally heard about this projecto n/. quite a while ago (sorry, to lazy to search for the article)..theprodukkt Is an amazing project where a simple but amazing FPS is crammed into 65k! I think they also designed much of the game in a 3D editor that is also smaller than 65k.
To be sure... Boo, that wasn't me.

Oh I can. It be about as fast as my x386 from 1990.
Wow, guys. You didn't even need to read the article-- the summary states that this is the smell of the MIR space station.
Actually, the front page of the company answers your question-- Yes!

Quick, and hard...
^-- Oops, $3.00-5.00.
"Reloads" there are already 3-5 a "pop".

Answer the orginal commenter--
Duh, Japan! This thing will be Mega-Godzilla-Happy-Fun-HUGE over there.
... never seemed more appropriate.

Have you ever seen a Horse-fly?

"256MB should be enough for anyone." Where have I heard something like that before?
