I agree with this post. Granted we are starting to see people start to care about the environment a bit more. That's nice. Even if they are doing it for the wrong reason, the benefits are good. Less pollution over cities, less health related problems. I could care less if the polar bear sees a difference, I care that my daughter will have clean water 20 years from now and not have to wear a mask like those in China or Japan or where ever they do that.
Clean energy for us,; not for the super rare 3 footed, red breasted, living in a 2 square foot environment, no one cares about Preebles jumping mouse that we have to build the highway 4 miles away from.

I agree with your point whole-heartily. To add to it, maybe the cause for rapid increase of autism in industrialized nations is the ability to know what it is, and have resources, medical and scientific tests, and the means to pursue current treatment methods, and tracking/statistics. I'm pretty sure third world countries have more to worry about then trying to identify youngsters with autism, because they are dieing at age 2 from malnutrition and other diseases.

In America, it is LEGAL to wave a pistol around, as long as done so in a non-threatening manner. The police will be called and a scene will be made, but it IS legal to walk around with a pistol. If it is holstered in a visible way, no special permits required. If it is held, no special permits required. If it is concealed, permits may apply. Swords may be different, as they are "long knives" and there are laws limiting the size one can carry around. However, it is still an "arm" of sort, and should be legal to carry.

Indeed, it's very nice to see people openly carrying a firearm. If people all start to have issues with conceled carry, then open carry is a better option. Would it be that John Doe "might" be carrying, I might still try to harass him into giving me his wallet. If I "SEE" John Doe carrying, I might be inclined to not only not harass him, but not harass anyone in the area, for fear he might change from carrying a firearm to shooting a firearm. Cracks me up that people bitch and moan about conceled carry. In Colorado Springs, there is a retired individual who likes to walk around with a very open hip holstered firearm and a shotgun over his shoulder. Went to city council meetings as well, flauting the fact that he can carry his firearms onto city property. Made city council nervous, so they made an ordinance that would prohibit the practice during council meetings. Now, I'd find it funny if they tried to tell him he couldn't take a picture of something in public. Course, the fact he open carries, make people leave him alone.

The proper purpose of a tax is to help fund the city resources that go into dealing with the problem caused by this issue. Does this $0.20 tax goto city garbage collects to offset costs? Does it go to consumer education about environmental issue? Does it go to the general coffer to offset healthcare? How is this 20 cent tax used? If it's not going back to subsidize trash collection to lower rates for all, or for environmental clean-up efforts, then the money is being wasted on city pet projects.

  25. Re:Real player on Yahoo Offers Compensation For Unplayable Music · · Score: 1

I for one am one of those people who will never use realplayer, or just about anything by RealNetworks. The last experience I had with them was probably back before Napster was started. Realplayer would take over every aspect of media on your system, without asking. It would also install itself in your taskbar, toolbar, quick menu, and everywhere else for "ease of use", all without asking. It would also start-up with the system, and any attempts to disable it would cancel out with reboots. It was the most annoying piece of junk then, and has left a bad taste ever since. But alas, grandma's all over the world don't know any different, so just kept on downloading and using it(they didn't have a choice on use), thus RealPlayer would never go away. Thanks Yahoo, I'll take my refund now, if I had ever used your bloated service anyway. Mark as flamebait if you want, but I agree with OP, RealPlayer is junk.
