They have nothing to lose.
Either do our and risk Siemens not selling you any more motors, or not do it and never need to worry about buying motors again.
This isn't a legal cease and desist.
I have to agree.
We recently bought a house and one of the first things we did was to cap them because, you know, yea solar.
Their big hook seems to be that there is no install costs. Great, but that means they get all the tax incentives, plus you pay them for how much energy you generate, not how much you use. Huh?
Plus I didn't like their math. They took our electric bill, divided the TOTAL by the number of kwh used to get to our "rate" to compare with their system. Including taxes and fees. Despite that we would still need to pay our local energy company $12 per month since we are still on the grid.
That seemed a bit disingenuous to me.
We found 3 reputable companies in our city that can put up a comparable sized system, or even larger, for less than what SC days we can buy the system from them after 5 years.
Also, all of them had a low rate finance option so there would be nothing down.
In our case, no electric bill + solar loan payment = about break even. For 10 years. Then no payment and free electricity. Unless we refinance and pay the system outright.
20 year lease that has to stay with the home even of you sell? No thanks.
I don't see a great need for this personally.
All the edible plants I see have little signs in front of them telling me not only what they are, but how much they cost too.
Four CAD drawings are not worth getting excited about.
It really depends on which 4 sheets they are.
They may not be able to build their own ship, but the right 4 drawings could provide some serious info on critical systems.
I'm sure Bennett would be able to come up with some sort of algorithm or solution that would benefit not only the questioner, but humankind in total.
Maybe he could incorporate one of those small sample surveys that can be extrapolated to account for everyone else's circumstances as well.
I'm sure he can relay his findings in one of those succinct ands salient ways that his writing is so well known for.
You want to see a more meaningful sample size? Look at the number of comments in Bennett's "submissions" that are complaining about this waste of time. Compare that to the number that actually gives a shit.
It was bad enough that the first sorry the other day had NOTHING whatsoever to do with news for nerds, nor was it well written, nor was it well conducted.
But/. now needs to post a whiny follow-up piece???
Few people care about this Miley Cyrus' opinion on things that do matter, and fewer still care about his opinion on all the crap that doesn't matter.
Breastfeeding pictures? Burning Man parking? Burning Man Ice distribution? How come 5th Ammendment?
Fuck this clown.
And this is news for nerds how? Because he used Mechanical Turk?
Seriously, stop with the drivel from this Miley Cyrus looking boob, with his winking and mouth gaping. Go ahead. Image search him.
Seriously.
It coasted for months along a trajectory that was established during development and confirmed shortly after lift off. It didn't get hit by an asteroid. Congratulations?
Or is it that it confirms they got the math right and didn't mix imperial units with metric while programming trajectory info?
Couldn't they have waited until the 24th to give a headline about the success of failure regarding the onboard liquid engine restart and subsequent critical maneuver ?
That was my first thought.
Companies have changed names in the past. It shouldn't be a big deal. In fact, they could have gotten more attention/users if the headlines was ""Twitpic" changes name to "xxxxxxx" because twitter is being a twat.""
or something.
This may be a daft question, but if "the key proton-proton fusion reaction that is the first part of a chain of reactions that provides 99% of the sun's power."
then what is the other 1% of the sun's power if not the chain of reactions?
Exactly this.
While taking the El Cajon pass on the 15, no one should have any feeling except for how fast they are taking the turn. Providing a false sense of the turn is in no way helpful to anyone.

And it is ridiculous to site how motorcycles lean during turns. That is *how* motorcycles turn. Two-wheeled vehicles are completely different than cars. They counter-steer to turn.
To turn left on a motorcycle, you don't "turn" left. You press on the left handle bar (pointing the front wheel to the *right*). That leans the bike to the left, initiating the turn. Pressing more on the left will tighten the turn, pressing the right side of the handle bar will widen the turn and continue to bring the bike upright.//rant/
There are that many comment trolls that have paid for HBO?
No, there are just that many trolls that know how to navigate to YouTube...kinda like the link in TFA.
Since you are not aware, "YouTube" is a video sharing website on a thing called he "Internet" on which said video in the article was "posted."

It is a rendering engine. It is not in direct competition with, nor do they see Blender as a "threat."
They are not even making a Blender compatible version.
RenderMan is only available for Maya.
If they are doing this in response to anything they see as a threat, it is in response to V-Ray who recently (past couple of years) released a version for Maya and it has been widely adopted in film and vfx.
V-Ray has been around for years as a rendering engine for 3dsMax and has really dominated. (I can't remember the last time I even heard about anyone using Final Render, Brazil, or even mentalray for that matter) Chaos Group has aggressively pursued the other major 3D platforms these past couple of years and has been adopted quite widely, and for good reason.
Renderman is a rendering engine with its own material and lighting system.
It is essentially a suite of plug-ins. You would still do all of your modeling and animation rigging, camera work etc. in Blender as you already know it, then use the Renderman materials and lighting and then Renderman would do all of the rendering passes and output.
Just like using v-ray in 3dsMax or Maya.
However, you would need to hope they have built a version for Blender, or have made a scene exporter and a stand-alone version of Renderman.
I haven't messed with Renderman in years, but the last I saw was it was only available for Maya. I hoped that's changed because I'd love to try it again, but I only use Max these days.
They have nothing to lose. Either do our and risk Siemens not selling you any more motors, or not do it and never need to worry about buying motors again. This isn't a legal cease and desist.
God forbid we have open spaces.
So they don't want to fund a project that benefits bigotry. Thanks. I like them more now.
They have a gofundme to help cover their legal fees.
I don't think I've ever seen such big words in a summary before. I may still have a dictionary on the bookshelf somewhere.
Um...you have the Internet right in front of you.
About $20k per year.

Link to an Ogg for Flac file? We want to hear it, not just read about it.

This is why you are pushed into the door instead of into the bottom of your seat.
Depending, of course, on what country you are driving in.

oh, *that* Scott Adams...I thought it was the guy who made the text-based adventure games in the 80's
