    Co-location. A lot of exchanges will let you put your servers in their building. Then the arguments start about who's network cable is shortest and which router it's on. I'm not joking.

    You get a few minutes to submit secret bids, the exchange gets nearly a half hour to match them up

    This is similar to what the open and close auctions are on most exchanges except there are indications as to what the mid price is. It all gets matched at the end of the auction. If you think you're being fleeced, why not just trade the auctions instead of intraday continuous trading?

    The funny thing is, almost everyone has probably used Akami without realising it. They provide up to 30% of web traffic. I assume most of that comes in the form of updates and software downloads that loads of big players seem to use them for.

    The indie section was a mess last time I looked, the top sellers were "personal massager" programs that did nothing more than make the controllers vibrate on command. There were several "games" that just tortured your avatar.

    How many fart boob or "x-ray" apps do you need to see before you realise the Apple store is even more dire? At least xbox live restricts the trash to one "abandonded lot" out the back where no-one sees it. It's really hard to distinquish quality on the app store.

    Hmm, yes, 'stolen'. This kind of thing smells more of backroom dodgy dealing between HSBC and the UK government. It gives HSBC plausible deniability but the government gets them to comply with what they've been asking for all this time.

    And this is where Japan hits the rocks (pun intended). They don't have much in the way of useful goodies in the ground and have no choice but to be dependent on other countries.

    Self checkouts are fine as long as you're not buying alcohol. Nothing is more annoying than "Approval Needed" followed by a 10 minute wait while you finally manage to get the attention of some dim-witted nomad assistant wandering aimlessly between the checkouts.
