    True. After free energy however, the bottleneck will eventually move to some other resource. Metals, plastics, water, food, space - something like that.

    Either your geography is bad or you didn't even look at that map. Notice it's just England, not the whole UK that has a state religion. Scotland, Wales and Northern Island, which are also constituent parts of the UK, don't have a state religion. Please stop calling the UK England and vice versa. They're NOT the same thing.

    I agree this is crap but it's exactly the direction the publishers want to go in. They still equate this kind of thing with lost sales.

    Too expensive - we're in a recession you know. I prefer the 'deep ocean explorer' route. Meaning put them all in a shipping container and drop it over the side. You can put windows in it if you must.

    If everyone has equal say, you get majority rule. People in large numbers are basically selfish or emotionally distanced from others anyway. Your average guy on the street finds it very hard to put himself in someone else's shows. So, you're going to be screwed if you find yourself in the minority in some debate where there is a polarisation between disparate interests. The outcome might not necessarily be the just or morally correct option.

    Think about two groups pulling in opposite directions where there is clear line of divide across groups of age, race, sex, religion, disability, class, wealth, sexual orientation, polical views age and so on. I'm sure you can think of lots of examples where the will of the masses would infringe upon the rights of the individuals in the minority.

    Think about your own life if you must. Is there any cause, interest, past-time or behaviour that is part of your life that would be squashed by this new consensus-state, just becuase it's different from what the masses see as right? You better hope the majority is as tolerant as you are in this new world order. Wisdom of the crowds indeed...
