Then there's the near infinite variation in glass bottle color, especially in the wine industry. And in case you didn't noticed, he make an "American Space" company that make an rocket that land on the very own launch pad, a new "American Car" company that created the very first successful electric car, an Online Bank to pay for your stuff and a few others.

So, yeah, it really doesn't make any sense that folks here like the guys and his companies.

I see you failed to recognize the pattern. Let me draw this for you :

2012 : Model S were released. Now ~200,000 Model at an ~90,000$ average
    2018 : ~60,000 Model 3 made already at a ~50,000$. And I've read that there's about 500,000 reservation.

  19. This is accurate. There are way too many five star reviews. If you want to look at real reviews, look at the 3 star ones that have comments. They are usually balanced reviews. No product is five star perfect. Even a 4 star review is suspect. What amazon should have is a scale from 1 to 10. The spammers will always choose 9 or 10.

The thing is, even 3 star aren't secure.

I remember one time where I've read a very popular 3 star review where all the complains were about very specific and uncommon needs. I think it was about a baby rocker where prerecorded music player didn't help the baby fall asleep so they used their cellphone with youtube instead. Well duh! It was a "nice to have" bonus that no other rocker of that range of price had!

Furthermore, if it become common knowledge that people look at 3 star, 'professional' reviewer will use 3 star. If you think you found a hole in the marketing process, don't worry they found it a long time ago.

First, unless I'm wrong, the NHTSA only cover North America. Your exercise tell us that 13 Tesla 2017 were recalled compared to 64 Mercedes 2017 in the USA.

But we lack the total number of car sold in the USA by both companies. For instance, if Tesla sold 130 cars in 2017 compared to 6400 by Mercedes, then even if Tesla made 5 time less recall, the recall rate would still be 10 time higher than Mercedes.

Also, given your partisanism with Tesla (sorry Rei but you have to agree on that one), what tell us that you didn't chose Mercedes because it was the only luxury car brand with an higher recall rate than Tesla? Personally, I believe in you objectivity, but you have to give us more than that.

But SeaFox had a point, higher recall rate doesn't mean higher failure rate. My neighbor, who had a Model S 75D, just send back the the car to Tesla free of charge (not sure if it count for a recall or not) because the windshield jet didn't send the fluid equally on the passenger side. They even got a Model X for free to try during the repair (amazing windshield on that one).
