IMHO, the biggest mistake made by the US space program was shutting down the production of Saturn rockets. Imagine constructing a space station using Skylab sized modules. Also manned missions to the moon and Mars would be more feasible.
Star Wars is adolescent nonsense; Close Encounters is obscurantist drivel; Star Trek can turn your brains to puree of bat guano; and the greatest science fiction series of all time is Doctor Who! And I'll take you all on, one-by-one or all in a bunch to back it up! -- Harlan Ellison
I've actually been really impressed by the storylines in Battlestar Galactica so far - didn't expect it to be much after remembering the original so fondly,
I was impressed by the new movie because the original series was so awful. It's not often a
remake is better than the original, but in this case the remake was better (it would've been difficult to do worse than the original Battlestar Galactica).
I had a link to usenet post in a recent
blog entry.
Try this (sometimes there's a server error, but otherwise it seems to work). The trick is to click on "Show Original" and use that link.
ed - for when you're using a teletype terminal.
FORTRAN, followed by Algol.
Same can be said of Star Trek...
What Are the Hardest Things Programmers Have To Do?
Dealing with incompetent project managers.
They obviously have never seen our cats. Stress reducers? I don't think so.
Looks like they found Majipoor.
It's better than any Michael Bay movie.
Then I was right. Job has all his children killed, and Michael Bay gets to keep making movies. There isn't a God.

You mean, like this?
OSS causes erectile disfunction...
And Cheney is obviously some kind of cyborg.

Ruper Pupkin probably has one of these in his basement.
A bit out of date, but...

Agreed, with every retooling TechTV/ZDTV/Whatever got worse, but G4TechTV represents a huge jump to awfulness.
G4TechTV is unwatchable - only the imports from TechTV had any merit and now that's changing.
There's really an opportunity for someone to start a real tech channel - it could fill a now empty niche.
I think Google's simply reflecting the web turning to shit real fast...
The only one of those I've seen is Event Horizon. If the others are that bad, then yes, Paul Anderson should be added to the list.
Considered the worst film maker of all time, Ed Wood
Oh come on! I can think of a few that are worse than Ed Wood:
And many others...
Despite his incompetence, Wood had a goofy earnestness that made his films at least watchable.
The non-Pragmatic Programmers' Guide
Didn't Bush tell us to go to a community college and educate ourselves so we can get higher paying jobs?
My response: Bush can go Cheney himself
