Re:well
There is major oil in Florida, or at least under the continental shelf within the EEZ. However, Cuba would probably prefer that they didn't have to compete with Russia for the oil they are slant drilling (using Chinese drilling platforms, instead of US or EU-owned platforms due to sanctions).
Good for them, btw, as there doesn't appear to be any illegality (other than who has the will and biggest guns having the final say as to what is illegal) and obviously it is immoral for the USA to access that oil, anyway.
Man, so many grenades, so little time.

By ratio, it is a slaughter. 2,290 American soldiers died in Iraq. Compared to:
Documented Iraqi civilian war fatalities:
115,713 [low end] - 126,337 [high end], mostly women and children.
Unofficial war dead count: 350,000

Re:Innovation
Sorry to burst your bubble, but Obama is definitely "in", so it won't matter if he wins, anyway.
Obama is backed by the Trilateral Commission, and has also been fully indoctrinated into the Bilderberg group. His campaign may be silent about it, but there is plenty of evidence that he is supporting their agenda.

Coincidence Theorist's Guide to 9/11
That governments have permitted terrorist acts against their own people, and have even themselves been perpetrators in order to find strategic advantage is quite likely true, but this is the United States we're talking about.
That intelligence agencies, financiers, terrorists and narco-criminals have a long history together is well established, but the Nugan Hand Bank, BCCI, Banco Ambrosiano, the P2 Lodge, the CIA/Mafia anti-Castro/Kennedy alliance, Iran/Contra and the rest were a long time ago, so thereâ(TM)s no need to rehash all that. That was then, this is now!
That Jonathan Bushâ(TM)s Riggs Bank has been found guilty of laundering terrorist funds and fined a US-record $25 million must embarrass his nephew George, but it's still no justification for leaping to paranoid conclusions.
That George Bush's brother Marvin sat on the board of the Kuwaiti-owned company which provided electronic security to the World Trade Centre, Dulles Airport and United Airlines means nothing more than you must admit those Bush boys have done alright for themselves.
That George Bush found success as a businessman only after the investment of Osamaâ(TM)s brother Salem and reputed al Qaeda financier Khalid bin Mahfouz is just one of those things - one of those crazy things.
That Osama bin Laden is known to have been an asset of US foreign policy in no way implies he still is.
That al Qaeda was active in the Balkan conflict, fighting on the same side as the US as recently as 1999, while the US protected its cells, is merely one of history's little aberrations.
The claims of Michael Springman, State Department veteran of the Jeddah visa bureau, that the CIA ran the office and issued visas to al Qaeda members so they could receive training in the United States, sound like the sour grapes of someone who was fired for making such wild accusations.
That one of George Bush's first acts as President, in January 2001, was to end the two-year deployment of attack submarines which were positioned within striking distance of al Qaeda's Afghanistan camps, even as the group's guilt for the Cole bombing was established, proves that a transition from one administration to the next is never an easy task.
That so many influential figures in and close to the Bush White House had expressed, just a year before the attacks, the need for a "new Pearl Harbo -

Posse Comitatus ain't what it used to be.
Posse Comitatus was altered by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2007. It's not really what it used to be anymore.

Bush pardons criminals but refuses to pardon heros
In case you haven't been following the news, George Bush has been pushing amnesty for 12-20 million people in the US illegally and for blowing the top off of the H1-B quotas. To make a long story short, two border patrol agents shot a cocaine drug smuggler (in the rear) and have been sent to prison for doing their job and protecting our country.
Bush has been asked to pardon and/or commute the sentences of these border agents but has made excuse after excuse. Bush has said the process to pardon someone is complicated and takes many years. However, when a real criminal is sent to prison, but potentially threatens the Vice President, the pardons come easy.
In my opinion, Bush is a disgrace not only himself but to our Nation and Democracy. The world press will run this story and it will further erode the credibility of US Democracy and show once again how corrupt our leaders truly are. I am angry, sickened, and amazed. I just wanted to scream today when I saw this news story. It's a very sad day for America, but it has been a very sad 8 years and undoing the incompetence and damage of the Bush/Cheney era is going to take another 20-years as we are still stuck in Iraq and the national treasure has been given to Haliburton. All we have left is debt and shame. Thank you Mr. President, now please resign and go live in Mexico! -

10. Diebol -
Life imitating art or vice versa?
For a (slight) glimpse at the stakes of a game like this, consider the recent Robin Williams film "Man of the Year". The movie was okay, but the truly frightening thing was how likely a scandal like a rigged election, purposefully or otherwise, might take place. However, before I go into some facts I found through surfing about Diebold and electronic voting, I wanted to point out that even if it was demonstrated beyond a shadow of a doubt that Bush was elected through vote fraud of some kind (not that many of us need any further convincing), it doesn't mean Kerry automatically gets to take the White House and Bush is out. What would most likely happen, along with a series of investigations and lawsuits, is the Supreme Court court would invalidate the election results and declare a new election, at a reasonable time period. Dennis Hastert would assume the throne until the new election results were confirmed but nothing Bush has done would be invalidated, at least, not right away. Even if he was fraudulently elected, he was still the de-facto sitting President and so his actions would be legal (in a manner of speaking). Congress could take some action to reverse some of his doings, but that assumes they want to in the first place. Now, on to Diebold. Found via a Google of "Diebold facts": 1. 80% of all votes in America are counted by only two companies: Diebold and ES&S. http://www.onlinejournal.com/evoting/042804Landes/ 042804landes.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diebold 2. More on BilderbergThe American Free Press' Jim Tucker has been chasing the bilderburgers for years. In his Bilderberg Diary (can't find a direct link, but put 'bilderberg' in the search box on this page) he says attendees are a virtual who's who of the (self-selected) "international elite". U.S. attendees affiliated with the government are also breaking the law, by discussing policy in secret.
American Criminals: Public Policy in Private
In the United States, the Logan Act states explicitly that it is against the law for federal officials to attend secret meetings with private citizens to develop public policies.
Although Bilderberg 2005 was missing one of its luminaries--US State Department official John Bolton, who was testifying before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations--the US Government was well represented in Rottach-Egern by: Allan E. Hubbard, Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and director of the National Economic Council; William Luti, Deputy Under-Secretary of Defense; James Wolfensohn, outgoing president of the World Bank; and Paul Wolfowitz, Deputy Secretary of State, an ideologue of the Iraq war and incoming president of the World Bank. By attending the Bilderberg 2005 meeting, these people broke United States federal law.

Re:Futile task
So fire and the collapse somehow caused unexplained seismic disturbance BEFORE the collapse?
http://www.americanfreepress.net/09_03_02/NEW_SEIS MIC_/new_seismic_.html
Why did I have to point this out to you?
Do you believe buildings collapse from fire at near free-fall velocity?
Do you believe a kerosene fire could cause steel to melt, not just bend, into a molten puddle at the bottom of both the world trade center towers as well as tower 7, which was never hit by a plane?
If this is what you believe, give me some of what you're smokin. -

A "Suit" Can Get Away With AnythingHe could easily sell your company down the tubes (Skilling & Lay at Enron), screw your wife and father your kids (probably has already), slip a knife in your back (ditto) at work, and bypass all security at your workplace to do anything he wanted. The 9/11 terrorists wore suits because they knew that men in suits have been screwing the USA for years without reprisal.
Once I stopped and questioned a guy I didn't recognize in a suit in the "highly secure" central computer area of a law-enforcement agency - he claimed to be a security auditor, but I escorted him to upper management anyway. I was the first and only person who questioned him. Walked right into the facility, past guards, electric locks, security cameras, key badge entries, police personnel and computer operators. In fact, most people he spoke to helped him move around the building.
Thieves often parade as "suits" in office buildings - they steal laptops and other valuable equipment. They know that if they "dress down" they'll be questioned. Usually staff will help them by providing dollies or carts - astounding!
So next time you see a strange "suit", be suspicious of him. Treat him like a potential well-trained terrorist or thief and keep him at arms' length. The same goes for well-dressed software consultants who will rob you blind with a smile on their face!8-))

Re:Yes illegal.
Again, let me re-iterate that I think the US is too involved in everyday proceedings in foreign countries. However, the versailles treaty doesn't mean it's ok for Hitler to create a holocaust, and a coup d'etat in 53 doesn't mean it's OK for Iran to create nuclear weapons to destroy Israel. Just because we helped Kuwait send back an attack from a dictator, or made agreements with the Saudi Arabian government for military base placements doesn't mean its OK to kill 3000 innocent people.
You are missing my point. It is not that the holocaust is happened, nor that 911 happened. My point is they do not happen in a vaccum. There are reasons WHY they happen. In order to stop terrorism, you must take a look at the root causes.
Now, is it likely that arabs IN GENERAL see our troop presence in the region as imperialism? I would say yes. This is the same reaction we would have if china had troops either here or in mexico. Am I excusing the violence? No. I am saying you need to look at the reasons behind the violence in order to stop it.
Israel's stated policy is not to destroy Iran or Palestine. Israel has been making an effort at peace, which is more than I can say for Palestine or Iran. Israel has had nukes for how long, and how many times have they nuked Palestine or Iran or any other country? Zero times. Iran has UN sanctions against it forbidding it from pursuing nuclear activity for very good reason. In addition, the UN is overwhelmingly pro-Muslim and anti-Israel, just based on its membership alone.
First off, israel has long claimed palestine. The only reason they have backed off, is the continuing violence which made it politically unpalatable to continued posession. Don't think terrorism doesn't work either. The founders of Israel knew full well it can.
Now, I think Israel has a right to exist, but they do not have the right to stop the palestinians from having a state either. In regards to nuclear weapons, if previous use is the determining factor, then why should we have them? Especially when Cheney has put plans in place to NUKE IRAN if we have another terrorist attack in the US. (Regardless of whether or not it is their fault!)
My point is that we slap sanctions on India and pakistan for having nukes and being non-signatories to the proliferation agreement, but do not do so for israel. It is a double standard, and thus arabs will see this and believe we are not a neutral party.
Second, under the non-proliferation agreement, Iran is FULLY within it's rights to enrich uranium for nuclear power.
Now do they have a clandestine weapons program? Probably IMO. If I were leading Iran, I would indeed do so. The reason is simple, Iraq- no nukes, attacked and invaded. North Korea - nukes, no attack nor invasion.
Will they use them once they get them? Probably not. The real use of a nuke is solely its deterrant value. Two good examples are the USA vs USSR and India vs Pakistan. -
evisceration of american industry
The funniest thing of it all is we paid china to do it by whoring out most of our economy to them just for the sake of greed , stupid politicians and corporations
.
The cause is inflation, moreso than greed and corporations. "Stupid politicians" voted for a central bank, to change the U.S. currency from value-based (Gold & Silver) to debt-based. Politicians like a debt-based (fiat) currency, because then they don't need to tax the citizenry to give money to their fellow bandits - they just "print" up a billion dollars and give it to connected organizations (Military-Industrial Complex, Halliburton, Betchtel, etc).
("stupid politicians" is in quotes because I don't know the veracity of the allegation that the Federal Reserve Bank act was passed by a handful of congressmen on December 23rd, when most of the other congressmen had already left. See Response to crticism of The Creature from Jeckyll Island)
Corporations are just fighting for survival... Because of inflation, employees of American manufacturers are forced to demand higher wages. So the manufacturers send out notices that, because their costs are going up, they're going to be charging more. WalMart ("Always Low Prices. Always") says to their suppliers, "Sorry, no can-do - keep your prices the same or we'll go somewhere else. P.S. Why don't you follow us to China?" See PBS Frontline's Is Wal-Mart Good for America? on how they bitchslapped Rubbermaid when the costs for plastic material went up.
This is not "greed" on wal-mart's part, so much as it is fear that their competitors will undercut them.
So, if not stupid politicians & corporations, who's to blame for the destruction of the economy? Well - George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and John Kerry were all members of Skull & Bones... Bill Clinton was a member of the Bilderberg group (American Free Press is the only American news outlet I know of that reports on Bilderberg). Most of the presidents since the 50's have been a member of Bilderburg, Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission, or Skull & Bones. The push for one-world-government has been going on for over 120 years - these people are dedicated, and this is the end-game. NAFTA, CAFTA, WTO, EU, UN - all these entities play a part in dividing up the world into blocks for efficient global governance.
Someone will dismiss what I've said here with "you're just a conspiracy theorist"... Well - think what you want. You're certainly free to believe that you're as free in America today as you would've been 200 years ago. I have no such delusions. -

Seriously? Here's the first headline I saw: Bush Insider Claims WTC Collapse Bogus, Demolition More Likely.
That is some of the most wacko assembly of unscientific paranoia I have ever witnessed. By "joined at the hip" you're refering to, of course, the present condition where the rest of the world manufactures stuff and sells it to Americans.
Chinese factories produce widgets. Americans buy them. Americans don't produce anything the Chinese can't make themselves for less, so the ships are filled up with raw materials (including, ironically, cardboard for recycling from all the boxes they just sold us), which the Chinese turn into fancy tech gadgets to sell to Americans.
China takes all the dollars they earn in trade and buy U.S. Treasury bonds. Georgy Boy uses the money China lends him to pay for his stupid "war" (real wars are declared by an act of congress), and all the other pork-barrel programs politicians pass to get re-elected.
Trade is only a good thing when it's a two way street.
The future I 'see' leaves America on the sidelines.
I buy 'american' when I can, but even so, that's more a symbolic gesture than anything else.
there's more, but not tonight. Subscribe to America's Last Real Newspaper (American Free Press) for the news you won't get anywhere else. -
Re:America's Last Real Newspaper
There is such a story.
I don't like media outlets that are known to manipulate people with lies. Even if they may be telling a lot of true things, you never know... -
America's Last Real Newspaper
I inherited my grandmother's subscription to American Free Press after she died... They bill themselves as "america's last real newspaper", and it arrives weekly in the mail (they do have an online subscription, but Grandma couldn't have handled that, and I do like holding the paper in my hands...). Lots of articles are posted on their site, to get a feel for their brand of coverage. (They say "populist" - they might've said "conservative", before that label got hijacked)
-
Interesting. . .2) [. .
.] All your "point" illustrates is that scum can come from Israel - only by leaps of logic (israeli=mossad=conspiracy) can that equal evidence of anything...
According to this story, it was unofficially determined that the five men were indeed Mossad operatives. This is from a Jewish paper, suggesting that this detail is probably factual, while those aspects of the story which seem to tone down the level of Mossad involvement in 9-11 are also possibly just that; toned down, or even outright falsehoods.
Once you know the lean and bias of a journal, you just lean the other way in order to zero in on where the truth might really sit.
The Bush administration didn't cooperate with the parts of the investigation looking into how they bungled anti-terrorism measures prior to 9/11. At best - thats indicative of a scandalous lack of attention given to Al-Qaeda - not involvement.
Can't a scandalous lack of attention have been deliberate? It sounds very much as though it had been, particularly with regard to the many reports from FBI agents being told to back off in their investigations of the Bin Ladens and their hirelings once Bush got into office. --And if a lack of attention was deliberate, could not further involvement have also been possible? We'll never know through the investigation.
Identifying the hijackers, following the paper/money trail, etc is a completely seperate business - and I don;t recall any complaints from the 9/11 commission, or any other investigative bodies about that aspect
Problem is, I've heard exactly nothing from the government regarding the many allegations of pre-9/11 insider trading. --A lot of money was made by dumping stocks in big companies which had offices in the World Trade Center. There is no question as to whether or not this happened and that the activity was almost certainly the result of foreknowledge of the attacks, but there has been zero follow-up on this when it would have been (and still could be) easy enough to do. Here's an essay with notes detailing this issue. The thinking is that the CIA and people connected to them were probably involved in making some of those high-profit trades because they would have been among those in the know beforehand. Lots of dirty hands.
Point 4) My theory for the black boxes vs passports? Passports are easily identifiable by any onlooker. A black box is just another hunk of scrap metal in a pile of scrap. Remember - the data is designed to survive a crash - not the casing - who knows what a flight data recorder box will look like after a 1400 foot fall?
To be honest, I pondered that very question myself until I realized that black boxes are specifically designed to survive falling from heights of considerably more than 1400 feet. They are also painted red, or day-glo orange with white stripes so that they can be easily found in wreckage. The engineers were thinking about these problems.
Then I ran across this item which suggests that the black boxes were indeed found, but quickly spirited away into the hands of the FBI. If the story from the fire-fighters is true, then why would the government not want anybody to know what was going on aboard those planes, and then lie to the public about not finding the boxes?
Without wanting to make any knee-jerk assumptions, the curious mind can't help but wonder at the blank spots, at the fishy smell, and the total avoidance of these subjects in the official press.

Yes.Read the article again - its the original source report that CNN, USA Today, and all the rest of the national newspapers keyed off of. They all made the same mistake you (and the rest of the conspiracy lunatics) did - a passport a few blocks away from the towers doesn't mean Ground Zero. They read it and assumed it must have been found in the rubble. Everyone in NY knows that Ground Zero was only the immediate WTC block - a few blocks away means it wasn't in the rubble pile. The 9/11 Commission Report fills in the rest of the gaps.
Yes. The passport was found a distance away from 'Ground Zero'. I accepted that this was part of the story shortly after my first post.
I didn't want to give you that satisfaction, though, because you sounded like another smarmy geek who, "Doesn't Believe in Conspiracies."
So I decided to annoy you for saying that the passport was found before the towers collapsed, which was not true. Figured you might go away.
Guess that didn't work. So, yes. You were right about the passport not being on ground zero.
Although, I might as well say that I think you use the term 'conspiracy lunatic' entirely too freely. The U.S. government has acted many times in many ways to suggest that there is a great deal of lying and manipulating going on. --The attacks on 9-11 themselves were the fruits of a big conspiracy. (A secret plan brought to fruition!) People who say, 'there is no such thing as conspiracies' are thus flat wrong. Conspiracies, many even by good ol' Americans, have been historically documented. They happen very, very easily, especially when there are geeks out there who are too emotionally damaged to examine anything except ways to prop up the official story.
So, yes. The passport was found a few blocks away from ground zero. But this does not mean that 9-11 went down the way it was officially described. If a black box can be spirited away by the FBI, (or whoever), then an incriminating passport can just as easily be left behind.

And those who benefit from tyranny will figure out how to speed up the process.

Re:coincidence theory
"American Free Press asked Christopher Maletz, assistant director of the PNAC about what was meant by the need for "a new Pearl Harbor."':
""They needed more money to up the defense budget for raises, new arms, and future capabilities," Maletz said. "Without some disaster or catastrophic event" neither the politicians nor the military would have approved, Maletz said."
Stick that in your vacuum. Along with your hysterical, repeated attempts to introduce your strawman, claiming I somehow said that the PNAC Bushites conspired to create the WTC planebombings. You're fooling only yourself with this selfserving bullshit. And that's not funny, it's sad. -
Our new Pearl Harbor
A neo-conservative Washington-based organization known as the Project for the New American Century (PNAC), funded by three foundations closely tied to Persian Gulf oil and weapons and defense industries, drafted the war plan for U.S. global domination through military power.
The PNAC was founded in the spring of 1997 by the well-known neo-conservatives Robert Kagan and William Kristol of The Weekly Standard.
Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush, and Paul Wolfowitz signed a Statement of Principles of the PNAC on June 3, 1997, along with many of the other current members of Bush's "war cabinet."
The 90-page PNAC document from September 2000 says: "The United States has for decades sought to play a more permanent role in Gulf regional security. While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein."
"Even should Saddam pass from the scene," the plan says U.S. military bases in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will remain, despite domestic opposition in the Gulf states to the permanent stationing of U.S. troops. Iran, it says, "may well prove as large a threat to U.S. interests as Iraq has."
A "core mission" for the transformed U.S. military is to "fight and decisively win multiple, simultaneous major theater wars," according to the PNAC.
The strategic "transformation" of the U.S. military into an imperialistic force of global domination would require a huge increase in defense spending to "a minimum level of 3.5 to 3.8 percent of gross domestic product, adding $15 billion to $20 billion to total defense spending annually," the PNAC plan said.
"The process of transformation," the plan said, "is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event--like a new Pearl Harbor."
Veteran journalist John Pilger recently wrote about one of PNAC's founding members, Richard Perle: "I interviewed Perle when he was advising Reagan, and when he spoke about 'total war,' I mistakenly dismissed him as mad," Pilger wrote. "He recently used the term again in describing America's 'war on terror.' 'No stages,' he said. 'This is total war. We are fighting a variety of enemies. There are lots of them out there. All this talk about first we are going to do Afghanistan, then we will do Iraq . . . this is entirely the wrong way to go about it. If we just let our vision of the world go forth, and we embrace it entirely and we don't try to piece together clever diplomacy, but just wage a total war . . . our children will sing great songs about us years from now.' "
"This is garbage from think-tanks stuffed with chicken-hawks," Dalyell said, "men who have never seen the horror of war but are in love with the idea of war.

Re:Better in the long run
I think it's better to stick to these agreements in the long run: it is both an intuitive an scientific fact that (oil) supplies will run out sooner or later.
Interesting theory you propose as fact, but what if http://www.americanfreepress.net/RFA_Articles/Natu ral_Gas__Oil_Occur_Natural/natural_gas__oil_occur_ natural.html they are right? -
Radiation is not the issue......
This to my understanding has nothing to do with radiation, but the dust left behind after impact with a target.
Depleted Uranium is a heavy metal and the human body does not react to well when exposed to heavy metals.
Lead exposure, especially to lead dust, can cause various forms of health conditions. Here's an EPA example of lead used in older paints:
http://www.epa.gov/lead/leadinfo.htm
Now, here's an article which seems to discuss the DU dust that I've read about in the past.
http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/cancer_epide mic_.html
and another:
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/180333p-156 685c.html
How true any of these articles are, I don't know ... I'm just pointing out what I've read before.
Plus, Master of Transhuman pointed out another interesting fact in case his post gets missed.

Re:True purpose
Then why the two bills in front of the House and Senate having to do with the draft?
-
Sources and answers.Do you have an actual source for that? Without it it just sounds like the ravings of the tinfoil hat brigade.
Here's an article with numerous details. Further reading on your own will enable you to make a reasonably accurate measure as to Tin-Foil-Hat quotient on this bit of 'raving'.
As for arguments, I'm not even sure what the actual subject matter you're writing about even is.
The subject matter is the DARPA challenge. My general position is that participation in the DARPA challenge is tantamount to applying for service in the military industrial establishment. This, considering what the American military stands for in the world today, should call for some serious thinking and soul searching on the part of the applicant.

Re:You're rightGasoline is only $2/gallon if your planet is worth nothing.
While 'global warming' and 'fossil fuels' along side 'peak oil' are interesting theories. They never pan out under scrutiny of any well rounded science searcher.
Global Warming makes the sweeping assumption that the output from the Sun is constant, which it is not. Record flares 8 months ago when we are supose to be at a solar minimum anyone?. The human effect is generally drastically over stated and most treaties (kyoto and such) are geared to control land, generally it is a big global land grab/control scare tactic. Anyway, interesting theory which has little to do with science and more to do with touchy feely rhetoric with a purpose.
Fossil Fuels, or so called fuels, are reportedly from Dinos and plants that are long gone. I have an odd question then, why do we find Dino remains? Why do we, sometimes, find a plant intact mixed in some coal? Should the coal have plant/animal texture all through it? Not a single isolated fossil.. To me this spells the exact opposite of what we should find! Combine this with hydro-carbons being found on other worlds (dinos? eh?), oil being found on this planet where there shouldn't be oil. There are other theories out there... including one where the planet normally produces oil and natural gas. Even significant evidence that whole eco systems live in oil under the surface (very facinating). link
Of course, peak oil was laughed at when it first came out - for good reason. There's enough oil here in the US in discovered, known deposits to run this country for decades and decades and decades. But we gotta use everyone else's oil first eh? That's how it started... Now who even mentions we have all this oil? Peak oil is based on the 'fossil fuel' theory anyway.
Now, as for ruining the planet, a single volcano (especially big ones) have a much greater effect than our cumulative efforts at 'trashing' the planet. Not that I believe in living in a dump, I like clean air and water myself. But let us be reasonable, we can burn oil and have clean air too.

Re:Butt Out
You are retarded. Very simply retarded.
This is why, asshole.
Let's assume that you're right, and our government is perfect, and Bush's family never had any business ties with Osama.
Fine, I'll accept that, as soon as you tell me how allowing a product like this into wide distribution won't actually make it easier for terrorists to assume fake identities, and wreak more havoc.
You see, asshole, that as long as our system of terrorist identification relies on government issued papers, and with enough information about someone else, you can assume their identity, and get government papers to support it, we're vulnerable.
So, this is acutally one of the largest problems in the world today. With identity theft, millions of dollars can be laundered, quite easily, people can assume fake identities. For all you know, that tall skinny Colombian man down the street is Osama with a shave and a fake passport. So, go have a cup of shut the fsck up. -
Project for a New American Internet
Just as the "Project for a New American Century" (PNAC) *needed* a "Pearl Harbor" to implement its police state plans, the forces that wish to shut down and control the information age need a "Digital Pearl Harbor" to implement their digital police state plans.
The phrasing "Digital Pearl Harbor" is used in a fashion very similar to how "Pearl Harbor" is used in the PNAC documents.
For further reading (also: google "PNAC pearl harbor")
Two years ago a project set up by the men who now surround George W Bush said what America needed was "a new Pearl Harbor". Its published aims have, alarmingly, come true. : John Pilger
:12 Dec 2002The cabal of war fanatics advising the White House secretly planned a "transformation" of defense policy years ago, calling for war against Iraq and huge increases in military spending. A "catalyzing event -- like a new Pearl Harbor" -- was seen as necessary to bring this about.
March 10 -- Years before George W. Bush entered the White House, and years before the Sept. 11 attacks set the direction of his presidency, a group of influential neo-conservatives hatched a plan to get Saddam Hussein out of power. (...) And in a report just before the 2000 election that would bring Bush to power, the group predicted that the shift would come about slowly, unless there were "some catastrophic and catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor."
So when events start leading up to "Digital Pearl Harbor"
... make sure you've got all the apps and source code you care about on local storage. Because everything that in any way possible could be utilized by a "digital terrorist" is going to be banned and taken off the net. -

Want more reasons to hate H1-B?
-
Re:What's this?
is one example of the misuse of the H1-B visa.
The point of the artical is about how the H1-B program is abused by hiring non technical people for non technical work that there isn't a shortage of american workers for.... like welding.
And as far as them being mistreated, yes, they were underpaid, but their room and board was paid for and they didn't have any bills to pay. They weren't kept prisioner, they just did't have any cars and they were in an old industrial part of town with no place to go. I know they were taken out on more than one occasion. One time a group of friends of mine rented out a skating rink for the night and one of those friends was the IT guy(technical american, not H1-B) for the John Pickle Co and brought a bus load of them with him. They all seemed pretty cool and not at all acted like they were just released from prison. -
Many real conservatives are not pleased...
Myself included. It may interest you to know that one of the few national newspapers that actually covered this, warned its readers about this, and encouraged them to right to the FCC was the conservative weekly newspaper the American Free Press. They've been covering this for weeks now.

Re:Voting Machines in America (clickable html)Americans have too been scammed by voting machines owned by corporations. Go figure.
Secret Group Manipulates Vote Machines - The widespread use of electronic voting machines has severely undermined the integrity of elections in the United States. Behind the companies that make the voting machines is a small and secretive group of men, including a well-known U.S. senator.
Voting machine companies: Ownership disclosure, "private" vote-counting codes, potential for manipulation - This is an article about just three things: disclosure, conflict of interest and potential for manipulation. It is not a conspiracy theory or a political point of view. I think you'll agree with me: We don't care who wins the election, as long as it's who was VOTED FOR.
Senator Hagel campaign treasurer owns voting machine co. - Election Systems & Software, the firm whose machines were involved in the 2002 flubbed Florida primary election(4)-- and the recent huge flub in Dallas, where early voting had to be shut down when machines kept registering Democratic votes as Republican (See the 31 mistakes link, top of page) and the company that now makes the voting machines for most of America--is a private company that does not like to tell the public who owns it.

Re:I wish...
First, we have to assume that the president, the cabinet, and his whole administration are entering into war just to make money for some relative of the president.
And themselves. Why else? Because Saddam is a bad man? Bullshit. The US made him who he is today. North Korea is a hugely greater threat.
But wait! There's more! Then we have to assume that almost the entirety of the Senate and 75% of the House was in on the conspiracy, when they voted, in Joint Congressional Resolution 140 to approve the use of force!
How many of them do NOT have stock portfolios?
But that's not all! Then we have to figure out how the entire United Nations Security Council joined the conspiracy when they voted unanimously to approve UNSC Resolution 1441 approving `serious consequences' for Mr. Hussein if he did not take advantage of this `final opportunity'!
No conspiracy required. The President of The United States said jump. They fell over themselves to see who could jump highest.
But that's not all you get! Then we have to understand why a majority of Americans approve immediate action against Mr. Hussein, too (52%, according to this week's NYTimes/CBSNews opinion poll, with 58% supporting action if the UN doesn't act within the next week or two)!
Do you beleive everything you read? Most Americans do. Control the media, you control the people.
Then we have to understand why 19 European nations, and another several dozen nations from the rest of the world have signed on too!
See above re: UN Security Council.
I mean c'mon. That's all you've got?
Oh, there's lots more. You just have to look a little deeper than most people are willing to do. For instance, do you have a satisfactory explanation for this?
Not so much the fact that it happened, but the fact that you never heard anything further about it. The fact that an ex-director of the just happened to be in the position he was in just compounds the coincidence further. I mean if you laid all this out for the American public as a TV movie of the week, you might actually cause one or two people to ask embarrassing questions of the authorities. But if you have a reasonable explanation (not a coincidence, use Occam's Razor) I'm willing to listen.
As far as biased sources go, are you saying that the right wing sources of news are bastions of impartiality?
-
Re:Conspiracies, nuts, and JFK
It would have been perverse for Churchill to accept peace with Hitler after France fell
Well, you haven't given me much to work with here... I suppose all I can say is 'I don't agree'.
But that's besides the point anyhow. The point is just that all the news you hear or see, all the history books you read, all are preaching proganda to you. You likely never hear the facts unless you are willing to spend a great deal of your time on cryptome.org or other similar places, reading through the actual facts of any issue. My question is, why doesn't the news media do that? Their purpose is to gather and summarize information about important events. Now, all they do is shove 50 cameras in the faces of elected officals, and spend 10 hours saying the same thing over and over, just in slightly different ways.
It was Thomas Jefferson who said something to the effect of: 'He that reads nothing, is better educated than someone that reads only newspapers.'
Watergate is another great example. It took 2 reporters following a financial trail to discover a cover-up that went all the way to the president, it sure as hell wasn't the FBI that found the truth, despite the fact that they are the ultimate investigative organization. Rant Warning: The same thing is happening with 9-11, there are some stock trades that happened (as well as insurance policies, etc) that seem to show evidence of knowledge of impending attack. If coincidence, the odds of winning the lottery are far greater. The news media doesn't investigate, and neither has the FBI.
Back on the media. With any conspiracy, there are ALWAYS officals who claim there is something more going on than the offical story. Yet (in the case of 9-11, as an example because it was recent) the only alternative views getting news-media attention are those nuts who's theories are clearly wrong, and not based on facts.
For all those that think I'm nuts; when was the last time you heard about the FBI's Anthrax investigation? It's obvious they have at least identified the source even if possibly not the guilty person.
When the heat was on the FBI, and some story came out about a captured terrorist who reportedly was going to detonate a radialogical ('dirty') bomb, did anyone seriously believe the story? No? Yet we don't take the falsified Bin-Laden tape or reports of attempted terrorist attacks as a sign that, Gee, maybe the government has been lying about much more as well.
Well, I suppose I'm just venting about ignorant people at this point. If anyone wants a little reality with their news, try americanfreepress.net, barnesreview.com, and cryptome.org .
Oh, one more thing... There were two stories on slashdot just weeks before Sept 11th. They were press releases from the CIA and NSA (IIRC) that said they were not getting enough money to be able to protect US citizens. Now, I may just have been paranoid, but I said to several dozen people that the US gov. was obviously planning to commit a terrorist attack on US citizens, and blame it on foreign terrorists. As I said, I may just have been paranoid, but attacks did happen, just as predicted.
In addition to those news sites, watch the movies 'The Long Kiss Goodnight', 'Canadian Bacon', and 'Air America'. The first is strikingly similar to the attacks, and my prediction. The second, the 'war on terror'. The quote "They walk among us" is strkingly similar to the 'Sleeper Cells' we hear so much about. The last, is based on about as much truth as Titanic. The CIA did have secret air operations, which they funded with drugs, but I doubt Mel Gibson was there flying the planes...
