tomschuring asks: "A friend of mine has Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and because of it, he is using a Voice Output Communication Aid (VOCA). When I heard the quality speech of the portable device I was less than impressed. My Mac is much better at it and at least has a few different voices (like one with an English accent) to choose from. Has anybody used a laptop for this purpose? What text to speech engine are you using and what are our impressions? Is there predictive text software available for this purpose? Is the startup time and battery time acceptable for this sort of application?"

FrankMillerFan wrote in to tell us that there is a Trailer for Sin City available on Apple's preview site. The film is being co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller himself. The video is kinda small but I gotta say that I'm pretty blown away- it really looks like they somehow took Miller's comic style and made it into a movie. High contrast, sometimes looks like line art, cool sparse use of color. This is a must-see trailer for any fan of the comic. Hopefully a higher-res version will be available soon.

By the way, since the XBox 2 will use the PowerPC G5, it shouldn't be that difficult to port future XBox games to the Power Mac G5 and the iMac, both of which are 64-bit now. Would you buy a Mac if you could play Counterstrike Source and Half-Life 2? What other games are missing from Mac OS X?"

The custom iPod will be made available the same week as the new album, which is slated for release in the U.S. November 23rd.
