Armagetron Advanced
I see the other 10% of their revenue coming from the new game "LightCycles 3D"
Which I sadly will probably buy a copy of.A video game published by Disney probably won't run on Linux, unlike Armagetron Advanced.

Re:!freeware
It is released under the GPL version 2, which last time I checked is pretty much the definition of "free software". It is a free as in speech, free as in beer, and free as in free software free.
Clicking on the "About" or "Download" pages on http://www.armagetronad.net/ will clearly show you that it is free.
Free! Free I say!

Great Tron-Based game
While you are waiting for "Tron 2" go on ahead and play Armagetron. It's quite a lot of fun, and is one of the games of choice for my lan parties now. http://www.armagetronad.net/

Re:This is your boss speaking
I've been playing a fair bit of OpenArena:
http://openarena.ws/?about
Open sourced Quake III code with new models and textures and whatnot.
Battle for Wesnoth is a good networked turn-based strategy game, my girlfriend likes it too.
http://www.wesnoth.org/
Zombies is a fun single player game that's open source (Windows and Mac only):
http://www.codenautics.com/zombies/
For anyone who liked Tron, there's a maddeningly difficult game called Armagetron Advanced that lets you race the bikes:

There's a good list of open source games for windows here:
http://osswin.sourceforge.net/games.html
And a big list of general open source games over on wikipedia:

They're not Flash games, but they're Free. -
Re:Ok...
Check out Scorched3D. *VERY* fun game, and the latest version looks just great.
Armagetron Advanced is also a great free game, even though the grafics may not be your cup of vodka.Additionally, you might find some very fun and good looking games by checking open source game- or 3D- engines. The showcase forum at ogre3D is a good start.
The point is: there are some great looking, fun Open Source games out there they don't get reviewed or advertised in such a way that you'll hear about them often.

Re:Uh, no.
No, not entirely. It's the PC gaming business that they say is suffering, not PC gaming. There are plenty of games that are free from the onset that are fun. http://tuxracer.sourceforge.net/

Armagetron Advanced 0.2.8.0
This story comes right after the release of Armagetron Advanced 0.2.8.0. They have rpm (x86), autopackage (x86), autopackage (x86_64), dmg (ppc-OSX), and Windows binary versions (and source code, of course). I easily installed the Autopackage on my Debian Sid (I wish more project released autopackages). Play it for a while, IMO it's the best lightcycle game around.

(BTW, an old /. post linked to this http://tinyurl.com/8g6pz picture from Kingdom Hearts 2 featuring a Tron character next to Donald Duck. Hey, Tron's Disney after all ;-) )

Obligatory lightcycle games

I'm going to have to say...
Galaga - No one loved Atari? You just have to get a better score than that!
Tetris - The old gameboy version, very addictive.
Armagetron AD [ http://www.armagetronad.net/ ] - A very nicely done Tron light cycle clone. -
Re:How does IPv6 work?
There's certainly more than 100 IPv6 websites in the world... even Armagetron Advanced's website supports IPv6.

Re:Not extensive, but here's a start....
Armagetron is now Armagetron Advanced - http://armagetronad.net/

Re:Meanwhile, in the computer world...
BTW, here's a link to CVS snapshots ("betas").
Not many servers making use of the new features, but "HexaTRON Server" is the one in the screenshot.
For those who want to run a server, here is an index of maps-- if you have any to add, email me to add them.
