Are you saying they'll be "Startin' Up a Posse" to come and look for him?

Re:Music = no | Industry = yes
Besides that, what is really up with this love theme in music? There is around zero pop songs that isn't about sex, love, boyfriends, breakup etc. If you name one I will give you a cookie.
I've often thought that, myself. On reading your comment, I decided to find out.
Billboard's Top 40 track #2 (was #1 last week) is Nickelback's "If Everyone Cared". It's some hippy crap, saying "everybody be nice to eachother and cooperate and the world will be a better place". It does seem to mention romantic love but that isn't the main theme.
LOL! #3 is Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder" and it is about sex and/or love, but the lyrics are so funny that I have to share them.
For comparison, I googled for Pantera lyrics and got this, an album with ten songs, one of which is not about love or sex. Okay, a newer album has not a single song about love.
Metal kicks ass, partly because the usually incomprehensible lyrics can sometimes be interesting, but mostly because of the music. Since you're into non-love lyrics, you might want to consider some alt country music too. There's quite a bit of metal crossover. Hank Williams III has been in lots of metal and punk bands, and has his own metal band Assjack, but his country music with his Damn Band is hardcore. Listen to the song "Bad Magick" by Shooter Jennings to feel like you're hearing a dusty old recording of Led Zeppelin collaborating with Bad Company. Shooter Jennings effortlessly segues from country to metal and back in the song "Busted In Baylor County", playing part of Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf" (the Live At Irving Plaza version has a much longer portion of "Sweet Leaf" than the album version). Rebel Meets Rebel is said to be the last project Dimebag Darrel did before he was killed; it has The Cowboys From Hell playing and aging country outlaw David Allan Coe on lead vocals (and the song "Get Out Of My Life" has Hank III in it too). Jay Berndt of Kilgore Smudge now fronts a country band called The Brimstone Assembly, which offers a style of hardcore country similar to that of Hank III.
Holy shit. I need to get a life. -

Re:Moo
enjoy your young years while you can. You have the rest of your life to be a grown-up
...
Or you could simply refuse to "grow up" and have fun your
entire life. The idea that you reach a certain age, or point in time and suddenly
have to start behaving differently is B.S. You can be young as long as you
choose to consider yourself young.
Now excuse me while I go put some Twisted Sister on.... -
Re:Missing the point
Well, nobody is forcing you to do anything but, there are some albums which are created to listen to them in order (at least if you really want to enjoy it).
Just like films. Do me a favor, go to your nearest Blockbuster and rent any random DVD that you have not seen. Now, instead of playing it all select the "choose chapter" option and watch the chapters in the following order: "5, 4, 7, 3, 1", you skipped chapter 2 and 6 (and if there are more than 7 chapters, all those also). Did the movie made any sense to you?. See, some MUSIC ALBUMS are made the same way. Of course, for those albums the *song* element plays a strong role which will make you enjoy certain "chapter" without having to listen to the whole album just as what happens with video very often.
I always like to put as an example the Scenes from a memory cd from Dream Theater. If you listen to the 8th song "8. Scene Six: Home" and the lyrics will make no sense to you, they might even appear to be crap, but if you listen to the whole album at least once, you will *understand* the mood of the song AND the lyrics. -

DarkLyrics.com is pretty excellent - light on ads and easy to navigate. Limited to metal lyrics though.

All thoses studies, journals, etc, have in common
THEY ARE FSCKING BULLSHIT.
Every one of thousands of sociologists, psychologists, anthropologists, and psychiatrists who have dedicated their careers to doing such studies have created utter crap. They write these things to get out of doing real work.
Most Child "Psychologists" never even meet real children. They write theories and apply for research grants from other dimwits who think these studies will change something. If your not willing to get your hands dirty actually solving the problems of one child then you should go get a job in a 7/11 and stop wasting everybody's time.
This is all part of the cycle of 'I don't care about you kid' in the school, programs, Mega Churches, FOX NEWS, CPS, and foster homes. Kids turn bad because they don't feel wanted. And everybody in the argument has as much to blame has a pimp or crack dealer using kids to make money. I see little difference, except the pimp or dealer is a bit more honest.
However, claims about the so called youth problem is way out of proportion. As the band Suicidal Tendencies advises (I am paraphrasing), Give the kid a freaking Pepsi and let him figure it out for himself. -
For the metal fans....
She let me taste that sugar whole and I wanted more
Great concept, pineapple juice. -

I'm gonna live in L.A. drinkin' all day,
Lay by the pool
And let the record company pay,
Talking to the devil on the batphone
All of the time...
Clearly, Lemmy should run to replace der Governator in California, as his grasp of local issues is so clearly demonstrated. -
Wicked lyrics too
The man also did some interesting performances with an eponymous group... very cutting edge lyrics:
Danzig
He will truly be missed. -
Re:security through obscurity. great move, kasparo
To believe otherwise is hubris-- and we all know what happened to Icarus.
Yeah! He became the subject of a Nintendo game and a kick ass Iron Maiden song. Go hubris! -

Re:Long overdue FCC!
Goodbye Freedom, Hello Mom
We'll ban that book and T.V. show,
Forget that movie, no you can't go.
Can't sell that record, don't like that song.
We know what's right we know what's wrong.
Can't have abortions, what's yours ain't yours,
Just obey the laws.
Too young to drink, say no to drugs
We'll take your piss and blood.
'All the world's a stage you get the lead.
Ain't no way I'm gonna play the part of the fool,
There ain't no way man - no way!'
Bikers wear helmets, cars safety belts
You might hurt yourself.
We're watching out, We're watching out
We're watching out for you...
Well the new right's been at work some time
They ain't so new no more
Can you hear 'em knockin'
Knockin' down your door.
1984 has past, forget about Big Brother,
Welcome to the 90's where the government's your mother.
They'll tell you - don't do that.
They'll try and tell you - it's for your own good.
Big Mother is watching you
Mother's protecting you
Mommy knows what's right for you
They force their will on all the rest
They got the power, they know what's best.
The high court is stacked to the right
Old man on the left won't live through the night.
They'll tell you - don't do that
They'll try and tell you - it's for your own good
Big Mother is watching you
Mother's protecting you
Mommy knows what's right for you...
Goodbye Freedom, Hello Mom
The Bill of Rights just disappeared
There it is - whoops it's gone!
Goodbye Freedom, Hello Mom
All your rights just disappeared
Everybody stay calm.
First amendment casualties, but they won't be the last,
Kiss the Bill of Rights goodbye it's disappearing fast.
They'll tell you - don't do that
They'll try and tell you - it's for your own good
Big Mother is watching you
Mother's protecting you
Mommy knows what's right for you...
Goodbye Freedom, Hello Mom
The Bill of Rights just disappeared
There it is - whoops it's gone!
Goodbye Freedom, Hello Mom
All your rights just disappeared
Everybody stay calm.

On my favorite lyrics site, Darklyrics.com, the Norwegian black metal band Gorgoroth demanded their lyrics removed from the site.
Most metal bands provide their lyrics on their homepages, as well as tablatures.
AFAIK, this is the only case on darklyrics, where the band has gotten the lyrics removed, even though most bands know about this site. -

Re:Another review not slashdotted.
Am I the only one, or is anyone else reminded of old Front 242 and Front Line Assembly music videos when they see that thing? I mean, slap some Japanese characters onto that thing and it looks like it came straight out of FLA's mindphaser video or maybe KMFDM's Juke Joint Jezebel. Eerie.
