Re:A Wise Man
http://www.duckproducts.com/ disagrees with you.
Seriously, do your research before you spout off whatever you *thought* you knew. It just makes you look ignorant.

Re:Duct Tape
While I agree with your first statement, I'm going to have to disagree with the latter. 1,420 times

Re:Yawnnn
Of course it is Duct Tape; but maybe he was thinking of this: http://www.duckproducts.com/products/category.asp?catID=1

Re:Sharpie
It seems that you are correct. But it would appear to also have other uses.

Re:Sorry to Troll
This has been done before, as a previous post links. NOT an original idea.
True. But there is one that one bit that makes this somewhat more geek-worthy. They actually got sponsorship from the Duck tape people themselves. Not bad for a little week's hack.

Re:Natural? No.
There is a such thing as Duck Tape brand Duct Tape.
-
Re:People who live in cramped quarters
Duck Tape is one of the more common brands of duct tape. It's like calling facial tisue Kleenex. Besides, most building codes do not allow duct tape to be used on air ducts... you are supposed to use the really shiny silver stuff.

Re:People who live in cramped quarters
Duck Tape
Duct tape sucks on air ducts. Does not last very long at all. -
Re:Does this violate the terms of the DMCA?
3M makes DUCT tape not DUCK tape. DUCK tape is made by http://www.duckproducts.com/ in response to so many people mispronouncing the name of a product. The tape was to close gaps in DUCTS not DUCKS.
The tape was created to seal ammunition containers watertight. It was originally called Duck Tape.
It was originally developed during World War II in 1942 under the name "Duck Tape" as a waterproof sealing tape for ammunition casings. Permacel, then a division of Johnson & Johnson, used a rubber-based adhesive to help the tape resist water and a fabric backing to facilitate ripping. Because of these properties, it was also used to quickly repair military equipment, including jeeps, guns, and aircraft. Wikipedia
You really should have checked Wikipedia before making such an empathic statement.

Re:"Duck" tape?
Sadly enough, there is a brand of duct tape, complete with a fan club
-
Re:Dammit!
It may have once been the incorrect term, and to some people (such as yourself) it still is, but I think that it's been used so often that it's become a valid term. There was even a show called 'Card Sharks'. The same way duct tape has officially become duck tape. (although the fact that the company changed the name to duck bothers me. You wouldn't tape a duck, especially with a heavy duty tape, but you would a duct.)

Re:World War II
Don't forget the greatest invention of WWII!

Re:For all of those who suggested tape...
Duck Tape:

'nuff said. -
it's like calling a Pepsi a "COKE"
Two things: "DUCK" is one brand of duct tape. More importantly for this article, duct tape is not for hot air ducts or anything else that'll heat up rapidly. How hot does a firearm get?

Get a load of all the uses for Duck Tape:

Already been done, saw some in Staples
He's wasting his time, you can already buy a pocket roll of duct tape in hardware stores. The last time I saw some it was in Staples. It's made by Duck brand duct tape and looks like this.
If he'd bothered to google for "pocket duct tape" he would have saved himself a lot of effort on his obsession. -
Re:Duct tape can be very usefulCheck out what these people had to say about the usefulness of Duck(r) Tape!

Re:Quack
Actually, duck tape is a rather popular brand of duct tape.
