Gatacca - coming to a country near you!Voted #1 most realistic movie of all time, gatacca may become reality. http://news.moviefone.com/2011...
Far from a fear of genetic tampering, bigger boobs and blonde hair will quickly devolve into less important things like health, lifespan, and more intelligence. But don't worry my non-augmented friends, while you won't be able to vote, hold a job, or hold any preferred life form rights, our kind masters still allow us to serve them. Isn't that enough?

Re:How about just not naming them real names?
Point us to an official source where Apple denies this, or revoke your claim.

Re:Easy!
You could try McDowell's

That could be a really interesting case, potentially infringing on both Coming to America and McDonald's -

Re:Oh no. Not again.
I wonder if Darth Vader will still be banned from the 3D release shows http://blog.moviefone.com/2010/07/12/dave-prowse-darth-vader-banned-lucas-film-star-wars-celebration/. I wonder if Return of the Jedi will finally show a profit and Darth will finally earn a residual.
Ah well, proof positive, the richer you are the greedier you are, really rather lame.

Re:WHOOSH!
Whether the reality we, as an audience, left him in was "real" or not is completely immaterial. Home != reality, necessarily; he ended up where he needed to be.
I would say he ended up where he wanted to be, which, given how hard it is to find true happiness in life, is no mean feat. Was Saito doing him a favor, either by helping Cobb get home in reality or possibly incepting the idea that Cobb would get home? Or was Mal still alive and trying to bring Cobb home to reality? The movie was pretty straightforward to me, but it does leave a lot of questions unanswered. Interesting article on some of the possibilities: "Inception" ending theories.

Re:Something seems off
The first thing that came to mind was this:

And here you have: http://insidemovies.moviefone.com/2010/05/25/watch-the-brilliant-fan-made-alien-vs-predator-movie-that-cost-j/
An amateur film maker has posted online a 22-minute homemade Alien v Predator sequel. The fan-film - AVP: Redemption - was a one-man production by Alex Popov and took him two years of his spare time. Popov did all the filming, directing, editing, video FX and sound design himself and despite a budget of just $500 the production values are incredibly high quality.
On his Vimeo page Popov writes: "AVP:Redemption fan film made by me Alex A. Popov for the purpose of entertaining the fans of both Alien and Predator franchises, and also to share my vision of what Alien VS Predator film should be."
The AVP franchise has never been well regarded by critics. The New York Daily news labelled the original 2004 film the "worst sci-fi movie since Battlefield Earth". However, Paul W S Anderson's film did well at the box office, grossing $172 million which is the highest earning of any Alien or Predator movie.
The 2007 sequel Aliens v Predator: Requiem was also a hit and there has been rumours of another movie. First though Robert Rodriguez is bringing the cut-throat aliens back to life in Predators. The film, which opens here in July, is set on the Predator home planet and features a group of soldiers and villains battling for their lives against the creatures. -

How come Grauman's Chinese Theatre is not showing?
Does anyone know why the famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre (aka Mann's Chinese), in Hollywood, CA, is not showing LOTR movie? Same thing happened with the last movie. Yet, it is currently showing Star Trek: Nemesis. The theatre did show last two Star Wars movies. This theater is a perfect place for LOTR movies and big revenues. This calendar of events does not show this movie listed.

Re:Movie industryAlthough you make a good point. I think it's a little different situation when you are talking about the movie industry spending a lot of money to make an excellent portrayel of one of the greatest fantasies ever written.
If a druglord were to donate an exorbitant amount of money to a TV campaign against drugs, would the campaign be any less valuable?
We can't focus on the cause, in this case.. we need to appreciate the effect. As well, we need to thank the people who brought the appreciation of a movie like this to the forefront of mainstream America.

It looks ok...what are the next movies going to be about? -
star theaters
Commander Taco, I could suggest contacting someone at Star Theaters. I'm sure you could get into some advanced screening with press credentials. Here's the URL:

I'd shoot for the Star Southfield -- stadium seating and THX r0x0rs.

Correction: 89 minutes
According to MovieFone, the running time is 89 minutes, not 70. But that was still a lovely rant.

More reviews and a note...
IMDB: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0190332 As of this post, it has 8.7 rating out of 10 with 1415 votes (ranked #137 out of 250 on the top 250 movie list). I consider that very good!
Also, check moviefone.com for more details.
Notes: The movie is in Chinese (Mandarin) so you will have to read the english subtitles if you are watching in U.S. The movie is showing in limited theaters (i.e. not in AMC theaters).
The movie has three Global Globe nominees (2001):
1. Best Director -- Motion Picture
2. Best Original Score - Motion Picture
3. Best Foreign Language Film
From Source.
I still haven't seen it yet, but I am taking my relatives to see it soon :).

Re:Why? (slightly offtopic)
This is still offtopic, but it seems to be a small portion of general interest, so I thought I'd post this. A new movie is coming out about the "war" for the legalization of marijuana directed by Woody Harrelson called Grass. Here's an information snippet from Moviefone.com:
Woody Harrelson, who is known for his vocal support for the legalization of hemp, narrates this documentary which looks at the last 100 years of marijuana use, culture, and legislation, compiled from 400 hours of archival footage.

Fast Food, Fast Bits
atw asks:
How many times did you use the Net for only 10-15 minutes?
Umm...all the time? I read Slashdot in ten-to-fifteen minute bursts all day long. I ordered tickets to Star Wars this morning in about five minutes. I bought a book last week in less than three minutes.
Whether it will work within their business model remains to be seen. Might be fun to see them delve into some other aspects of the technology: how about a distributed processing net with a node in each store location? That cool effects shot in your favorite movie might have rendered using spare cycles on Burger King's network of office computers.
