Typing of the Dead?
That would seem to fit the bill for typing, plus she could work on reaction times. I would think something like that would hit several areas of the brain.
Of course, zombie killin' can be somthing of an acquired taste...

It's expected sometime around May, June or July 2005.

Already been done
I've played a few games similar to this concept.
My favourite was You Don't Know Jack Netshow from the now-defunct bezerk.com. Ordinary YDKJ fare, but free and updated with new questions weekly. In lieu of subscription, the user was forced to watch a few short TV-style flash commercials between each of the 3 rounds. The commercials were very tolerable considering the quality of the game, but I guess they didn't pay the bills.
Another fine, free, episodic game is (was) Wing Commander Prophecy. I believe this game, the same in gameplay to other WC titles, was intended to be a commercial product but, like Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, development could not conform to schedule and\or budget and was released to the public pro bono. Episodes were released incrementally (I forget the span as I didn't try it until all 6 episodes were available) and professionally written story text and fanfiction could be downloaded to whet one's appetite between releases. The game can be downloaded but the game originally required registration and the website is now gone so I can't promise it will work for you (plus it's a Win98 game - Direct3D). -
Mother (in-Law)
Instead she had her mother pop in at regular intervals to remind her to save manually.
This reminds me of the Mother-In-Law unit in the game >a href="http://www.onceuponaknight.com/video.php">On ce Upon a Knight that makes your workes work harder and longer.
They even have a demo available here

a big deal?
3 million?
Halo is arguably X-Box' flagship title. If you consider that Super Mario Bros. has sold over 40 million copies and Super Mario 64 has sold over 11 million copies (see here) and that Enter the Matrix has already sold 1 million copies in the brief time it's been released, this isn't that big a deal. Posted by an anonymous coward? More like posted by a desperate XBox sales force. -

Re:Madden 2003 is the fifth best game of all time?
I think it is pretty obvious:
Entertainment Weekly is owned by
AOL Time Warner
AOL is in cahoots with EA for the Madden Bowl
EA may be mad they did not get the number 1 slot ;). -
Grade: C+It's always great to see some competition in the stagnant console market.
Yeah, OK, I'll bite.
Console gaming systems are among the highest selling products of all-time. What's fascinating is that sales figures of console systems like PS2, X-Box, Gamecube, etc. have shown to be recession-proof and nearly always in the black year after year for the past decade or two.
With so many games to choose from, it's no wonder the video game industry is headed for a record-breaking year," said Richard Ow, senior account manager, NPDFunworld. "Annual 2001 was the year of the console, and now with so many households owning one or more of them, the goal of video game publishers is to be 'the game' on everyone's holiday gift list," said Ow.
Year-to-date (January through October) 2002 total console hardware dollar volume increased 29 percent, compared to the same time period last year. Another bright spot for the industry was the category of console accessories, showing an impressive 27 percent increase in dollar volume versus last year. (from this GameWorld story)
So, while yours was an interesting troll attempt, your inclusiong of a blatant and easily-disproved non-fact in the first sentence is what messed you up.

US Army == 666
http://www.pcgameworld.com/company.php/id/666
If you go to that link now, you will find that that is the information about the Army game developers. Conviently, it also has the number 666 as its ID in the database.
Coincidence? I think not! :)

Outpost, anybody?
Anybody remember Outpost, Sierra Online's foray into the non-adventure game market a couple of years back? It was the most bug-ridden game since, oh, maybe Daggerfall (which turned out to be a GREAT game, go figure), and probably held that title until last year's Pool of Radiance shipped. Anyway, bug-infested, features listed in the manual but not in the actual game (and vice versa), a clumsy interface, the list goes on and on.
PC Gamer gave it a 93% review in their
September 1994 issue. PC Gamer then proceeded to spend the next half decade apologizing for the rating, even in their review of Outpost 2.
The moral of the story? People can get away with pretty much saying whatever they please, as long as it serves SOMEBODY.

Direct link to MODE review
Here's the review. Standard review for culture so bad it presents nothing interesting to talk about: the reviewer tells a story about himself instead. Cruel, but not rising to OldManMurray's subterranean level by any means.
and here's the response. Standard response from an "artist" who uses his wit (well, half of it) to cover up genuinely hurt feelings. Sort of sad.
