Re:Star Wars?
Let's see...
- All the Star Wars Films
- The Mandalorians New TV Series
- All the old Star Wars Animated Shows
- All the Marvel Movies
- New Marvel content featuring Loki, Scarlett Witch & Vision, Falcon & The Winter Soldier, and Hawkeye.
- Phineas & Ferb, including a new movie.
For $6.99 a month (or $69.99 a year)? Yeah, I'd do that...

Re: Next?
I don't think that will help.
:-/ The classic meme:"Fun detected; Nerf incoming."
has been true before they merged with Craptivision.
When they insult PC fans at the 2018 BlizzCon who supported them for the past 20+ years with an idiotic "Don't you guys have phones?!" response you can tell they are severely out of touch with what fans want.
/sarcasm Yeah, some shitty reskinned Chinese mobile ARPG clone with MTX is what PC gamers want! NOT.Ironically the thing is that this COULD have worked if they had announced: Yes, Diablo 4 is in the works. In the meantime here is a mobile Diablo game to hold you over until then.
They jumped the shark when they shutdown bnetd 2 because "a program in RAM is an illegal copy". **Facepalm**
Even the Diablo 2 producers says Blizzard is out of touch with gamers.
https://screenrant.com/diablo-...Blizzard has long been dead. They are slowly burning through all the goodwill they bought over the years.

Re:Test case
Go to Youtube. Search Last Jedi
Don't fall for that. There is usually more meta-outrage on YouTube than there was actual outrage in the first place.
Kennedy and Johnson do not consider complaints as a gift (so few do these days)
But they are gifts.
We don't have to respond to criticisms by making demanded changes, indeed on my own projects, I often get diametrcically opposed demands, so someone gets left out. But I do thank each and every critic for their input. And if their input makes sense, I change it, and tell them I appreciate the good idea.
This does not fly with some people Way back in Rogue one days, when asked about the perceived political correctness of having another female lead in what was historically a male dominated series - apparently forgetting that the Princess Leia was a lead, Kennedy apparently took it badly:
"I have a responsibility to the company that I work with. I don’t feel that I have a responsibility to cater in some way. I would never just seize on saying, 'Well, this is a franchise that’s appealed primarily to men for many, many years, and therefore I owe men something.'"
Okay, well, her answer didn't really answer the question, but it does show her focus. source https://screenrant.com/star-wa...
Rian Johnson has apparently been "Expertly shutting down Fans" in this positive piece, which priases the rejection of the peopel who give you their money. http://www.digitalspy.com/movi... He also spent a fair amount of time mocking fans, and calling them manbabies.
The point is that Lucasfilm and Disney apparently do not need people to go to the movies any more. If I responded to my sponsors when they had a criticism telling them I do not need to cater to them or mocking them - I would go broke.
Disney and Kennedy et al, apparently do not need to profit, only to make films and throw shade at those who would dare to not march in lockstep with them
And none of the cites come from FaceBook.

Re:At least it wasn't 'social justice'
Oh dear. And here you are, all out of tissue. Not to worry, I'm sure they can patch you up in your next cognitive therapy session.
I dunno - It really is a different tack, with Disney expounding on Lando's pansexuality. i mean, whatever two consenting adults do is cool, but I really can't get into a character that wants too have sex with my little girl or my mailbox or my lawnmower.
Disney trying to branch off into where characters want to stick their pecker or fig is an annoying and irrelevant side trip that wrecks their story line.
Mostly because it turns the movies into clumsy propaganda pieces. "The Last Jedi" was exactly that Apparently Solo wasn't actually too bad, but in the aftermath of TLJ, Kennedy et al told the old fans they were not needed, and called them misogynists. and other derogatory names. So it tanked
Perhaps when dealing with people who give you their discretionary money for entertainment, you shouldn't tell them you don't need them. https://screenrant.com/star-wa...
And make no mistake - The Last Jedi has a specific third wave feminst agenda "Offers the harsh condemnation of mansplaining we need in 2017" https://www.vanityfair.com/hol...
No problem if you want to make political films catering to third wave feminists. But so far, they are happy that the films are becoming openly misandryic. But t appears the ladies they now consider their target audience neither watch the films, nor do they buy the promotional mechandise.
You're a fat worthless cunt and women hate you for a reason.

Hahaha creimer!
Stan Wee will not appear at comic con? Is that your way "to believe" and to "build your own brand" with your "own ideas" like you've learned from Casey Neistat?
Apart from that, why would you want us to watch you stupid digi-feces video on how to get his autograph for 200$ if you are positive that he will not be there you dumb fuck?
Anyway, nobody cares about Stan Wee or other sexual deviants like yourself you fat retard!

> I guess I don't think we're living in a time when Star Trek could be successful,
Are you talking Financially? Hollywood accounting aside, they made money off the Reboot.
* Star Trek (2019) = $257 million (US) + $385 million (world) - $150 million (budget) = $492 million
* Into Darkness (2013) = $228 million (US), $467 million (world) - $190 million (budget) = $505 million
* Beyond (2016) = $158 million (US), $343 million (world) - $185 million (budget) = $316 millionThat said, even though Beyond made money it was considered a flop. It remains doubtful if there will be a sequel -- people are getting tired of STD:ADHD.

Same as last one
32% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The previous Pirates movie also got 32% and grossed over a billion dollars.

Re:There can only be one response. Get a Rope
Remakes are usually dimwitted rewrites of old classics, (I challenge anyone here to name a remake that was better than the original.)
That's easy, there's a bunch.
1. Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978). The first one in the 50s was interesting and not bad, but Donald Sutherland's version was excellent. Don't watch the 3rd one made around 1990 though. The 2000s one with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig isn't bad.
2. The Thing (1982) by John Carpenter. This was a remake of a cheesy 50s movie. JC's version is fantastic, and has amazing stop-motion effects.
3. Battlestar Galactica (2003). The 70s show it was a "re-imagining" of was rather cheesy, like most TV and sci-fi stuff in the 70s. The 2003 mini-series was fantastic, and the follow-up TV show was great too, for about 2 seasons. Unfortunately, it jumped the shark after that, somewhere around season 3.
4. The Fly (1986). Jeff Goldblum's version is much better than the 50s version.
Here's an article that lists some more.

Re:easy one
So just to be clear less ok to steal from some people then others. Does that spectrum run all the way to it being actually ok to steal from some people?
Yes.

Seriously, though if you believe that stealing a loaf of bread to feed your family is the same as stealing the crutches of a crippled man, your parents taught you morals all wrong.

Re:God I hate to say this, but
Took no chances? No implied interracial love triangle? No "female persona" for the robot?
Implied, perhaps... perhaps not. They never seemed to have anything more really than a friendship, a sort of "sharing the foxhole" relationship. Many would argue that itself to be a cop out, probably. With Luke, Leia, and Han, it was a lover's thing right from the start, up until the brother/sister thing came up. I never really thought of BB8 as any sex, actually. Unlike C-3PO who is clearly male, the less androgenic shaped droids like R2D2 just seem like "beings". They don't reproduce and so aren't sexual anyway, but even if BB8 is somehow feminine (it's just cute, actually).. meh, that's not edgy.
-
Re:God I hate to say this, but
I agree with him.
There was way too much slovenly fan service in that movie. As I expected with a Disney movie, it played it totally safe and took no chances. It looked test-marketed to within an inch of its life.
A real filmmaker would have made his own film, not just remade someone else's.
Took no chances? No implied interracial love triangle? No "female persona" for the robot? No killing off of main characters?
I actually agree that half the movie was lifted from IV-VI, but I happened to like that. I wanted to see a Star Wars movie, not an action film that used the Star Wars name and character names (like the same director did with Star Trek). -
Re:Wow ...

Re:In case you were wondering,
Ehh, Jared just doesn't do it for me, not convincing enough. But, I'm not a fan of sequels, they usually turn into fan service vehicles to sell more crap... Merchandising! Where the real money is made.

Re:Certain Disappointmentthat's cool, people should be called out when they don't cite interesting claims. I didn't provide a citation earlier because I didn't know where I learned it, but I did some research-fu.
Last July Bob Iger went on CNBC and said“There’s been speculation about some standalone films that are in development, and I can confirm to you today that in fact we are working on a few standalone films. Larry Kasdan and Simon Kinberg are both working on films derived from great Star Wars characters that are not part of the overall saga. So we still plan to make Star Wars 7, 8 and 9 roughly over a six-year period of time, starting 2015. But there are going to be a few other films released in that period of time too.”
I wonder which characters they'll be profiling? Ain't It Cool News says that Yoda is first.
but all of this is based on year-old news, so who knows what the current situation is. -
Re:Wish it was not split into 2 movies
Luckily, he's changed his mind about splitting it in half. Now it's a trilogy instead.

Re:DRM
Well, they don't have to explicitly state that you can't copy it for personal use, since they've restricted such that you can't. And if you bypass their restrictions you should already know what you're getting into.
As to other restrictions such as on reselling, retransmission, etc, it is on the case, not to mention the FBI warning screens (do those exist on Bluray?). If you want to make the writing bigger you'll have to talk to your government representative.

According to my old AQFL story and Dark Horizons, there was a WMV trailer on Screen Rant but the Web site seems to be down. You can look at Google's cached Web page. And here is the original Web site that hosted it (still works for now).
