Re:Quit buying games on day one
I've started following this advice (not that I was buying a whole lot of games on release day in the first place), but I do make an exception for Nintendo first-/second-party games. While they're not completely free of problems, the bugs are far more rare and (usually) have far less impact on gameplay than, say, falling through the ground.

Re:He sega dreamcast
Because if piracy didn't exist, your friend would have shelled out $50 for the retail version of all of those games, right?
"CESA reports a total of 19,347,668 downloads for the top twenty DS games and 86 billion yen ($941 million) in damages." - http://www.siliconera.com/2010/06/09/pokemon-platinum-tops-nintendo-ds-piracy-list/
And yet Nintendo is making money hand over fist with the NDS.
Correlation is not causation.

Re:Low-budget Marine Corps
""Just think, one day, the R&D that Nintendo put into Wii bowling could end up influencing basic training"
Actually in basic we had a SNES with a training game on it in the barracks. It was a shooting game with pop-up targets and we had a full-size M16 "zapper". Graphics were very simple but it was effective, had to be very accurate to actually hit the target. Only thing it missed was the kick-back. Some of the guys that weren't very good did improve using the training simulation.
This wasn't 10 yrs ago either, this was 2005. -
Re:In related news, Sony fired game developersGood to see Nintendo is still stealing decade-old ideas from Sega though
:)Yeah, it's like Sega had the ability to look into the past...

hmmm
for one.. the article and sony announcement do not say "in the US", just shipped. As another person pointed out Sony is giving away 500,000 copies for registering your PS3 in europe. http://www.siliconera.com/index.php/2007/02/12/eu

Turkeys, Wiis, and Grandmothers
How do you keep a turkey in suspense? Don't interview any of the attendees to find out what they thought of Nintendo's booth! (GRRR!)
Unfortunately, all of the articles on Google News are just Newswire reprints of the link in the summary. I had to do some serious digging to find a story that had a bit more substance. This link gives a few reactions, photos of the event, and a video of an older fellow playing the Wii. He seems to have an uncertain, yet fascinated look on his face as he picks up a spare in Wii Sports Bowling. Very interesting stuff! -
Re:Oh for the love of"The DS has sold (not shipped) 21 million units worldwide."
Also you state the PSP has more games, but that doesn't paint the whole picture. The PSP currently has only 3 titles that sold over 1 million copies worldwide and the DS has 13. One of which (English Training) isn't even a game, so it wouldn't show up on Metacritic.
The PSP had UMD movies that were lower resolution copies of Movies that were not playable on anything else; cost more then a DVD of the same movie, and usually had fewer extras due to lower disk capacity. The DS has a wider variety of games, and other Software that appeal to broader demographics.

Re:Using which Google keywords?
"NES Homebrew Carts" got me this article about this device as the second result. A bit more looking found me information about the Devtendo. I presume that saleable games are produced in the same way they are on other systems: By taking an existing cart and resoldering a new ROM chip.

y -xiii-images/ Final Fantasy XIII versus and XIII look sweet, but not much is known about Agito. -
Re:Conspicuously absent..
Actually, apparently a company called GameQuestDirect has landed the rights to reprint Rez and a few other games. They go for their original full price ($50), but it's cheaper than getting a used copy off of eBay.

It's been out for quite sometime... In Japan
No one is "making" the game it is just getting a US release since the anime is out. I saw a review of the game at Siliconera, so I thought I would post the link here. Review Link.

there's more than "Vive la France"
is interesting that in the list pages Europe hit are marked with a french flag...
hey people at Siliconera France is a lovely and quite large country and of course it's in Europe, but it's far far far away from represent the entire continent; the EU flag might be more appropriated : ) -
