Speaking as a Canadian...
I have to say, you Americans are sick. I mean, making snow? On purpose?
Up here in Canada, the only thing worst than the snow is the random moose attacks... -
Re:!LOL
Welcome to my friends list.
Ah yes, Leisure Town... and don't forget these other, classic geek funnies:
ascii art farts
Space moose
Hmmmm, what else am I missing? That's not many. I wish there were more geeks that liked "this kind" of humor... -
Meh
Since we had yet to swap the motor with one more powerful, the shredding was trying our patients.
At least in Calgary we know how to spell. Or were they putting med school volunteers through El Shreddoro? All you Edmontonians can give us is a modded shredder and Space Moose.
[/playful troll]
(BTW, those Space Moose comics are not office friendly. You've been warned!) -
Not so! Gabe and Tyke are simply gay!
Space Moose says so! (Search for 'gay couple')...

Re:Here's a conversation bound to happen...
Canadian police agent: eh he followed this link from a site known as Slashdot.org sir!
Nah, the Canadians have their own deviated preversions.
Alas, like the true icons of American humor, it's no longer active. (Go down to Older Issues.) -
Re:Am I the only one?
Yeah, UF is all the same recycled 'linux rules' wanking over and over and over and over and over.
A rotting corpse is funnier than UF.
Penny Arcade, on the other hand, rules...I mean, how can you not love stuff like "Fruit Fucker 2000"?
I just wish the space moose guy would start making new strips.
There just aren't enough comic strips with sodomy as a central theme.
:wq -
Webcomics suck without exception
Except for Space Moose, that is.

Re:Asimov had it right
"would require immense logic databases and analysis algorithims..."
I think thats the problem with AI. Once you give it the capabilities of making very complex desisions, you give it the ability to screw them up. Immense logic is the problem, not the solution. Man shouldn't be so quick to create life cause it would suck for the first artificial brain to be a psychopathic killbot!

Re:Segway Jousting...Extreme Space Moose
# This strip was mainly a spoof of those insipid Mountain Dew ads featuring the ultracool extreme guys. "Extreme" has become a badge of pride worn by so-called dare devils who partake in dangerous activities for the sake of one-upmanship. "My sport is more extreme than yours, therefore I am cooler." In the Do the Dew ads we see the extreme dudes snowboarding, rollerblading and mountain biking. Come on. I can think of a million things more extreme than that. What ever happened to cliff diving which killed and paralyzed more Americans in the 1970s than any other sport? Or sword swallowing which the Guinness book of records will not cover because of its high death toll? I would like to see the Mountain Dew guys try to break Jon Brower Minnoch's record of gaining 91 kg (200 lbs) in 7 days. Now that's extreme.

Re:Anti-spam
A while ago, Pizza hut did a big campaign where they had a billboard with _ _ _ _ _ Hut. Somebody climbed up and spraypainted PORNO in there. That was cool. I'd probably eat at a place called Porno Hut. Reminds me of Fellatio Barn.

Star Wars meets Spacemoose!

To the authors:

Other possible movie titles
Indianna Jones and the Horrendous Learjet Maintenance Bill
Indianna Jones and Colorectal Polyp from Hell
Indianna Jones and Seducing Women Far Too Young for An Octogenerian
and the best of all:
Indianna Jones Makes Harry Potter Bite the Pillow
(I really should stop reading Space Moose archives....) -
Re:Dungeons and Dragons
I like this parody even better.

what about these types?
this kind of game is fun to play and read. Check it out.

Re:everyone knows that
There are probably a lot of Jack Chick satire sites (I mean, how can you resist - fish, barrel, you know the saying), but my favorite was this one. Needless to say, it generated a bit of contreversy. But isn't lively debate what keeps the intelect from being snuffed out completely? Oh, wait, this was just tasteless humor... good enough

Space MooseWhen I atended the University of Alberta in the mid-nineties there werer plenty of people who slammed our university paper for being too juvenille. It wasn't professional for sure, but just scanning the 5 postings that made 4+ status I find both Bob the Angry Flower and Space Moose referenced, both of which were started there.
Space Moose has got to be one of the best comics ever put down on paper. The level of humor and daring is amazing, and my only regret in promoting the site to this broad audience is that all the great Edmonton humor will be missed by readers from elsewhere. Anyway, here are some definite highlights from the archives
:and of course, Antlers of the Damned and The Fellatio Barn
these are all highly offensive and represent only a small portion of the great collection online. Also the scans suck so you should buy the book.

Best place for dead tree comics online. It's impossible to beat the Mercury News' online comics personalization engine. Most of the dead tree comics out there, only the ones you want to see, same day as the papers, in color! Free registration required, as they say.
I love web comics, but the problem I have with them is that I don't read them on a "daily basis" like the dead tree comics, so the ones with an ongoing storyline or character development lose a lot of their "flow." I like the "one day at a time" feel of something like Doonesbury or the kickass newcomer The Boondocks. When you read 'em all at once, it just doesn't feel right to me.
Other great online strips: the ones at Salon, especially Tom the Dancing Bug and Story Minute. And how could I leave out the deranged genius which is Space Moose!
The world hasn't been the same since Word.com got destroyed by their fish-oil selling masters. However, if you Google long enough, you'll find the old archive of Maakies still online.
Eschatfische.

Re:The Daily Dd
I can't believe you haven't mentioned the two best comics on the web: Spacemoose (I wish Adam Thrasher would update it) and classic Needle & Thread
-
Re:Pioneer 10 gone...
Well you remind me of this spacemoose strip where a paranoid black man thinks everyone's after his anal tract.
-
Re:News for Nerds.
As Spacemoose says: "If it's not extreme, fuck you".
-
Re:I oppose this planIt seems to be a fairly standard moral principle that you should help others.
Oh sure, standard among unwashed hippie mystic freaks. Anyone with even the slightest amount of love for Reason can see that the only person one should act to benefit is one's self. After all, helping one's self brings clear benefit, while gaining happiness by helping others is completely irrational.
As Ayn Rand once said: 'Helping others will only give those others an advantage with which they can destroy you.' Anyone who doesn't agree completely with Rand is no better than the vile commies she stood up to.
All good rational people know that helping others is not a virtue. How can it be a virtue if I don't enjoy doing it? If living in a stark impersonal world devoid of altruistic friendship and basic emotional interaction was good enough for Rand's fictional characters, then by gum, it's good enough for me.

Ahhh! Excellent!

Oh. Stop. You're hurting my feelings.
What a bunch of pre-chordate (spineless) whining.
What would Internet life be like without being exposed to GeHoWa (Geek Holy War)?
The Internet wolrd isn't Teletubbie Nirvana, after all.
What's the next instalment? Post-modern feminist analysis of the Internet?
"E=mail. Think of the inherent sexism in this. It means 'E-male', showing a inherent and deliberate gender exclusion and thus creating a hostile online environment to womyn...."
Check out this strip of Space Moose to get a reality check. -
Re:Scott should know "Not Funny" - he's mastered i
Almost lauded? I've noticed many of the luser-types patting one another on the back for their stupidity, practically reveling in it. Just plain pitiful, if you ask me.
And to Scott Kurtz - if you read this comment, I just want you to know, I looked at Player vs Player for today and yesterday - I think UF is funny (and After Y2K and Sluggy Freelance as well), but in my opinion, PvP is just weak. The "humor" completely eludes me. Maybe the latest 2 aren't representative of the entire strip (damn, I'd hope not) - but what I saw didn't bode well to me. I am NOT impressed.
At least stuff like Space Moose, while beyond being scathing, can at least make me laugh at times. -
If you think User Friendly is absurd...
Try reading Spacemoose. If you have any reason to hate online comic strips at all, you can find it here.
:) -
Re:The End of the World As We Know ItReminds me of a parody in Space Moose (a university newspaper comic) that parodies Chick tracts.
Really very crude. If you're into that sort of thing, check it out.
