Re:Funny? Mods on crack?
But "the cage" and the earth are just easy terms for the ethereal "thing that binds us" (no, not a ring [not a ring of metal at least] but maybe a ring more like the one Ponahontas sang about).
What is it about an overcrowded cage that makes rats turn gay? How does the message "turn gay, too many babies" get communicated and what is the trigger, could various macro environmental things be happening to the humans in the overcrowded cage now? - gosh no, because we are too scientific to believe that, blah, blah.
Could it really be that there is a higher percentage of gays now then any time in history - the gay community has a vested interest in saying no.
Could it be that homosexuality isn't a choice, it is a macro environmental response to overpopulation that randomly picks members of the species to be non-reproductive - the "christian right" and to a lesser extent the gay community have a vested interest in saying no.
Personally, I think this would be hilarious if shown to be true, the gay community, rather than being the abomination that the right says they are, would turn out to be the individuals chosen by "the hand of god/nature" as it was trying to save the human race from distroying itself and the environment.
The problem with global warming if it is due to fossil fuel burning and other chemical pollutants, is the same problem as with GMO's - there is no satisfaction in the liberals being able to say "We told you so" because by the time we are sure, it is too late and we are all fucked.
I can't believe the Earth can support 6 billion people without some major chaotic events being precipitated, so I guess we'll know sooner than later - unlike the rest of history. Maybe gen Y will see the population curve change direction for some reason.

Both Packard and Buffet are concerned enough to donate billions to try to force changes:

Re:Not all relgions are created equal.
If you haven't offended someone, your probably doing something wrong. Opinions are like that.
Funny was a partial goal. Learn to laugh at yourself, you'll live longer.
BTW: Why is this bit so abrasive? I equally whent after jews, muslims, and and athiests. Christians get enough abuse, so who cares, it's not funny any more.
So far I've pissed of 2 Athiests,1 Non-US Citizen (Hi!), and 1 Muslim who's a damn good speller. Why didn't anyone care that I dissed Christians, Jews, or Evolutionists(ok that's redundent)?
Excuse me while I find my Denis Leary tape...

Blame Canada...
I bet every kid on the street would laugh, knowing what I am refering to. The point is that today's know the movie, but have no clue what the message, or meaning of the song. There is always somebody else to blame for our faults.
We need to do less blaming after the fact, more mentoring before the fact. -
Re:Ok
Soudns very reasonable, except, you're forgetting that Martians moved the bulk of their atmoshpere to Earth which they then terraformed into a habitable planet. Of course this was a long long time ago, and the martian overlords have since progressed on leaving us to wonder why we're here.
Come to think of it this sounds an awful lot like Scientology. Oh god! They're right! On second thought I think I might listen to too much Clutch. -
Re:'proof'? No, "proof"
Or "Travolta"

We know who to blame!
Although in the article, they mainly focus on Texas, it's pretty clear that the whole system is being gamed and gamed hardest by the Republicans.
OK, I'll bite... The system is being gamed and has been gamed for as long as there has been a system to game. The article makes this clear, as would even a casual study of history.
The Facist Republicans are EVIL for gaming the system at every opportunity as are the the Stalinist Democrats for doing the same whenever they can. But you are correct when you observe that the Republicans are winning just now.
The current "crisis" in gerrymandering highlights the power of one of the forgotten units of government... namely the State legislature(s). Due to the national reach of the American Media, people's perception of the importance of State Government has declined. For most state offices (other than Governor usually), people tend to vote a party line. God forbid they learn about the candidates and their positions! God forbid they read a newspaper! If Peter Jennings or Bill O'Reilly doesn't cover it, it isn't important.
Personally, I attribute the whole problem to the dumbing down of America America. The current lowest common denominator is the pre-digested coverage on the 24-hr news channels. Sad, isn't it?
Blame the Republicans or the Democrats if you lack imagination. Blame yourself if you don't know the same of your state representative. Blame your neighbors if they didn't vote on the '02 elections because "they don't matter". Blame your friends who aren't even registered to vote.
Or just Blame Canada. -
Time to sing...

Not Evil, just MunchausenFrom: The World of Commander McBragg Lyrics
This is the World of CEO McBride
Your hair will curl in the World of McBride.
He fights monsters galore
And then asks for still more
Or so says the brag of McBride. When on the hill the marines plant a flag
They may be led by CEO McBride.
With a cannon in hand
He can beat any band
Or so says the brag of McBride.Fencing and fighting and round table knighting
And slaying of dragons, too.
Shipping and sailing and great harpoon whaling
There's nothing McBride can't do.
Hunting and trapping and gold miner mapping
And flying to Timbuktu.
Roping and riding and Indian guiding
CEO McBride comes through. This is the World of CEO McBride
Your head will whirl in the World of McBride.
He can do anything
In his world he's a king
Or so says the brag of McBride. -

The story tagline "department" got it right, before any of these redundant comments thought it would be witty and original.
