The future is here at last
No flying cars yet, but apparently we have Uniblab in alpha.

Re:I'll just leave this here
Yup, I definitely see a likeness.

Re:The original idea was better
Well, if you use the 4th movie in the series (The Anamatrix), parts 2 and 3 (The renascence stories, its a 2 parter) addresses all of that.
The humans picked a fight with the AI. The AI fought back and of course won.
We took their main power source (The sun) so they turned to other power sources. (Us)
So unfortunately yes, the failings of that plot line are valid complaints.
This plot/story of that 4th part is pretty much directly from the minds of the Wachowski's and their crew (writters and stuff)
Hollywood didn't even want to put that on the big screen....I'm no authority on the story, but the original comics everyone claims the movies were based on was a power management problem more so than a VR simulation. The VR was just the machine version of prison camps for us.
If you haven't seen it and are interested, I do highly recomend the anamatrix! It fleshes out parts of the story that had to be cut or broken from the first 3 movies.
part 1 and
part 2
(Each part is ~10 min)Enjoy

PR at it's best.
And I'm sure this article has nothing to do with the heavily promoted WB show "Beauty and the Geek" http://www.thewb.com/Shows/GenericShow/0,11116,22

Beauty and the Geek!
Is anyone watching this funny reality TV show? The second episode was aired last night on KTLA 5 (Los Angeles, CA, USA). The guys had to do massage stuff while the gals had to fine tune sport cars.
I don't see how geeks and nerds can be better lovers from that show especially with Richard. ;) -
Beauty and the Geek on the WB
I think that this is a new meme.
Ashton Kutcher (of MTV's "Punked") is producing Beauty and the Geek on the WB http://www.thewb.com/Shows/GenericShow/0,11116,228 773,00.html
I've enjoyed watching the geeks - learn to dance, get a massage, etc. And they're not viewd as pathetic boors - the girls (cute girls!) are learning to like them. too. -
The WB Get Lex Sweepstakes
Obviously this is just some rabid Smallville fan trying to get a leg up on the competition for the Get Lex Sweepstakes where you gain access to Lex Luthors email account. By hacking the account, he figured he'd be able to change the password and lock everyone out of the WB competition. Of course, he figured Lex might not have an email account at the FBI, but he figured it was as good as any a place to start... well... turns out Lex didn't. Lex does however have a lexluthor@verizon.com address. So the perp sends his apologies to the FBI for any undue alarm caused.
And ... Uhhhmmm .... I of course have no idea as to who this person is or his whereabouts. -
Re:One Tree Hill
>FYI, One Tree Hill is a suburb in Auckland, New Zealand. And apparently a couple of the code names are based on other suburbs nearby.
You mean the Firefox team members aren't major fans of WB teen dramas? ;-) -
Oh shit.....
That's right guys, we are now going to be condemned that our TV viewing habits have gone to downloading that "evil" pornography!!
I just saw a couple days ago some female televangelist condemning the internet and all the porn. Of course, I came across this while eating breakfast and looking for the news before i left for class. I laughed for a good ten minutes and watched her make statements about even some audience members viewing EVIL pornography.
The traditional media realizes they have a strangle hold on the over 34 market, and will attempt to use this angle of attack on us.
They've started with the 'studies' and try to find any example they can think of so that videogames are responsible for violence. This is the same old bullshit when rock music gained popularity. All this crap reminds me of an old friend's mom who told us playing Dungeons & Dragons will cause us to commit suicide and hand our souls over to the devil.
But we know this isn't the truth.
I'm beginning to think that even Howard Stern is beginning to pick up on this shit for once.
Now quit surfing that TRASH and go watch some wholesome programming. -
Ah the ironyComplain about Jeremiah being cancelled, but contribute to the bad numbers by downloading?
Not that I think this is a bad strategy. I'm ripping and distributing 7th Heaven in an attempt to get it off the air. So far, no luck. No downloads either. I think the ideal TV audience is the techno-illiterate.
The Boob tube indeed.

Warner Brothers Execs are cleary morons...
who have never been excited about the show.
If you have ever been to the Warner Brothers Television site it's always had zip about Angel. But plenty of crap about worthless shows like Celebrity Justice. I know they don't make the show, but they could at least have a link?!?
And if you go to "The WB's" chat site, you'll see that the Angel forum has more posts than any other forum - including the "The WB General" forum. Are they just blind to the fact that the show generates more invested fans than any other property they own?
I also know that many people (myself included) only watch that turd-of-a-show Smallville because it's on right before Angel. I hope they're prepared to watch it's viewership decline.
Finally, I think Joss Whedon put it best in his paraphrasing of Robert Frost:
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the road less traveled by and they CANCELLED MY FRIKKIN' SHOW. I totally shoulda took the road that had all those people on it. Damn."

Someone tell Clark Kent! After seeing the troubles Clark went through the last time a large solar flare happened, he better be careful.
Sorry, couldn't resist - it was just on last night. -
Re:Television ROTS brains.I decided that TV rots brains
They love to read; they spend time with friends; they do all sorts of stuff. So I swear by this: Television is a waste of time.
Get off your damn high horse. Television has plenty of crap on it, but that doesn't mean the medium sucks. There's plenty of crap published in book format too. People who argue this 'television sucks' focus on the crap and ignore the quality stuff out there.
It is akin to saying 'CDs suck' because the local Wherehouse music has a rack full of NSync. If you are unhappy with the programs you watch, find better programs. There are plenty of good, entertaining, moving, educational shows on television.
Crappy TV rots brains about the same amount as crappy romance novels, or teeny bopper pop, or Gigli. Don't identify the medium with only its dregs.

Re:I feel like suing Joss Whedon for killing Anya
UM SPIKE ISN'T Dead.

another commercial tie-in
Hmmmm, WB has a new show called "Birds of Prey." Boeing acknowledges existance of their new fighter "bird of prey." WB.com says hope comes in the unlikely form of a trio of beautiful and relentless heroines, so I guess these Dawson's Creek kiddies are going to fly around in these badass jets stopping evil-doers, (just like our military, I'm starting to get the idea)
Who says WB shows are lame! :) -
Neither...
Try the Huntress.

Re:VGER
Do you think it will be confused when it comes back and find its maker on 7th Heaven?
-
Re:Enterprise Theme song...You should start watching Nikki on the WB.

Oblongs, Oblongs
The best show you've never seen has also been shitcanned due to abysmal ratings.
Unlike The Simpsons, it was actually funny.
