Re:Teaching The Controversy - Properly
This has always been my question. I was very pleased to find my objections conveniently represented in graphical form.
For that matter forget alchemy, if we adopt this idea then presumably it should apply to all subjects. History would be especially problematic. Quite a few people believe in things like aliens influencing early civilizations, Atlantis, or worse yet doubt the reality of the Holocaust.

which T-shirt is that?
I don't see any obviously Lord of the Rings images on their website:

Teach The Controversy
The best part about those shirts - most of the people they are making fun of are too dumb to understand that your shirt is making fun of them. Wearing one is like a secret handshake for reasonably intelligent people.

Re:Translation?
slashdot... where two posts saying exactly the opposite of each other are both marked +5 informative.
Hey now, we're teaching the controversy, so people can form their own opinions.

Re:To be fair
i don't know what's wrong with teaching the controversy. The most difficult part is deciding which controversy to teach...

Re:And to them I say
Hm. I guess since I didn't include the link, I can't blame you for not following it:
http://controversy.wearscience.com/However, even so, your statement is still ridiculously stupid.
Seriously, you're suggesting people do extensive market research to test manufacturers' claims before they buy a T-Shirt??

Teach the Controversy Riddle-runes
Very amusing... I can figure out most of these, but some of them still baffle me. Third one in the second row: this is an airplane flying over a volcano, which either has a tree growing out of it, or more likely a cloud of ash? And ghosts are being emitted?
MIddle one, next row: there's a teapot between the Earth and Mars? Is this Sagittarius?
Some help here?

Re:Not surprising.
Wearing one of these(I am not affiliated with or profiting from, merely amused by) or being sure to use the phrase "So open-minded your brain has fallen out" is the only viable response to such behavior.

Re:It's a bad thing.
Soon teachers will be required to wear this t-shirt:

Re:I'm only going to say
I fully understand we're talking about a woman who believes in fossil fuels, but not fossils.
That's easy to explain: Teach The Controversy!

Re:Science...It Works....
If you are looking for science t-shirts, these ones are pretty cool. They have a teach the controversy section that's pretty relevant to this discussion too.

Re:Well-rounded?
I think teaching the controversy is such a good idea I support it on my tshirt: teach the controversy.

Re:When did we PROVE evolution to be true???
They purposely created a campaign called "Teach the Controversy" to create this confusion.
And in the process, inspired some really spiffy t-shirts.
(I have no connection with the T-shirt manufacturer other than as a fan).

Time to teach the controversy...
...in other ways. See this set of T shirts, which would be appropriate to any such lessons on "intelligent design."
