Re:meh
The thing is if the economy tanks that badly, gold probably won't be worth much either. Which is why buying large boxes of ammo, cigarettes, and toilet paper is the way to go!
Just have to find the downed airship for the Firelance and pick up some Alien Power Cells.

Re:and baking is just knowing the recipe
I only recently got into smash brothers, so I can only speak for the Wii version (Brawl). The aim of the game is to knock the other player off the screen. It's has more of a sumo wrestling aspect to it. You can think of the damage as fatigue rather than life if that helps.
Some other settings you might enjoy:
* Change the item drops to low or none. This is good if you want to reduce the luck aspect of the game or give yourself some time to learn the movement/attack mechanics.
* Change the mode from the time based mode to the lives based one (it's called stock).
* There is a handicap option so you can play with your son even if you don't know what's going on. I like to set this to Auto. After a few games of getting your butt kicked his handicap will get progressviely higher and he'll have to keep on his toes.
I would also recommend skimming (ignoring the character specific stuff, so you can figure it out on your own) the first paragraphs of the different types of attack Smash wiki (see the bottom of the page for the various attacks). Obviously like street fighter, the different characters execute their attacks differently so make sure you don't read those parts. I believe a lot of this is in the manual anyway.

Sega v. Accolade
iTunes music is now DRM-free
But how long until video follows music's lead?
What Apple is trying to prevent is people connecting a Palm and getting a tab in iTunes that has multiple occurrences of the word "iPod". This can be seen as a subtle case of trademark dilution.
Not in the United States. Precedent doesn't support using a trademark as an ersatz patent or copyright. Sega v. Accolade, 977 F.2d 1510, 24 U.S.P.Q.2d (BNA) 1561 (9th Cir. 1992). And before you launch into a "Ninth Circus is often overturned" rant, see how the Supreme Court backed up the reasoning: Dastar v. Twentieth Century Fox, 539 U.S. 23 (2003).

Sid the Science Kid & Ms. Frizzle
Sid the Science Kid on PBS is a surprisingly good science show for young kids. It encourages kids to ask questions, try experiments, make observations, draw conclusions, apply what they learn to real life and so on. On fairly basic subjects, but treated in a fun and serious way. http://muppet.wikia.com/wiki/Sid_the_Science_Kid
My kids are also hooked on The Magic School Bus. A little bit fantastic, but it covers complex subjects. The immune system, ecology, properties of fluids, etc. -

Re:New stuffs
If you are going to do that then why not use the Combat Shotgun instead? About the only weapon that does more damage from a point blank range headshot is the plasma rifle. A single point-blank blast from a well-repaired combat shotgun is usually enough to blow the head off most Super Mutants.

Re:Recycling skins and textures from other games?
It was powerful in terms of damage, but the limited range made it in effect "not as good" in the late game, where more super mutants and Enclave patrols are encountered, and getting close to those sorts of enemies was disadvantageous. The best general purpose weapon in Fallout 2 was probably the Red Ryder Limited Edition BB Gun (another joke since the regular BB gun was arguably the worst rifle in the game), which also had a very high critical hit chance, although the M72 Gauss Rifle was also quite good.

History of TSR hobbies
Actually, probably the best place to get real useful business information for D&D is from the History of D&D, specifically, the History of TSR hobbies.
Here's a good starting point. It's a sad and horrifying tale of corporate intrigue that led to business failure.

Re:High Thrust, High Specific Impulse (Isp)
I have to say that I reject your theory that ion engines are low-thrust, since I happen to know for a fact that a single-man spacecraft with a Twin Ion Engine is capable of 1,200 km/hr and an acceleration of 4,100 G. Please refer to: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/TIE/ln_starfighter Thank you for your time. Let's keep things grounded in reality, people!

Re:Any recommendations for a digital point-n-shoot
Yeah. Nearly anything by Canon, and aftermarket firmware.
Check out the CHDK wiki. You can download firmware which unlocks RAW mode and a whole slew of other neat features. Something that makes it particularly neat is that you don't actually put the firmware on the camera--only the memory card, and it's optionally loaded on power-up time. If it causes problems, turn the camera off and then back on but without loading the 'firmware.'
-
Re:Any recommendations for a digital point-n-shoot
You're probably not going to get RAW mode in any compact in that price range... Not with stock firmware, anyway. The first compact that comes to mind with RAW mode is the Canon G10 and its predecessor, the G9.
Alternatively most of the PowerShot and Ixus range can run CHDK, which adds RAW mode, a live histogram, and a few other really neat toys to the Canon firmware.
URL for the latter is: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK

Re:She made it easy for them
While it is sometimes possible to get out of it, it's hard to think of very many copyright cases that weren't committed with the intent to cause harm. So-called "innocent infringement" is the exception, not the norm---things like someone's song sounding too much like somebody else's song inadvertently. Actual copying, at least in my mind, generally shows clear intent to get something without paying for it, and thus, intent to deprive the copyright holder of income. Thus, it generally cannot be set aside as part of a bankruptcy filing.
An "innocent infringement" argument is pretty hard to prove. If somehow she could show that she didn't actually intend to redistribute it---if she can convince a judge that she didn't know that downloading caused seeding... maybe, but if she was actually putting her own rips in a downloads folder, then I think the "innocent infringement" argument would be laughed out of court. At best, they'd be walking on legal thin ice, IMHO.
It would probably be far easier to argue that this occurred on Native American lands, and argue that they are not a signatory to the Berne convention, argue that the lower courts don't have jurisdiction, etc. And even that is probably something of a long shot.

"non-sentient" for now. This technology will lead
ultimately to an actual Terminator style killer android. It's bound to. Give America's boundless and insatiable Pentagon and its parasitical enable in the military/industrial complex some group within the political class will urge the military brass to build them. Look at the logic. DARPA money for the universities and think tanks, big contract money for the war industries, big new budgets for the Pentagon, jobs for congressional supporters districts, and no more worrying about casualty reports on the Six O'clock news. Everyone body wins! Until Sky Net nukes us all.

Re:does an iphone....
I taught this dam myth was put to rest already, The wii is selling games, a lot of games in fact see here: http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Wii#Best-selling_video_games
It's not a myth. The top 10 games are all made by Nintendo itself.
The Wii is flooded with crap 3rd party games (shelves of nothing but shovelware at my local Gamestop). Quality control on the XBox360 and PS3 seems to result in better 3rd party games.
I don't buy any games for the Wii any more I've been burned so many times. Who would have thought that a Super Monkey Ball game could have been so terribly bad? But it was.
-
Re:does an iphone....
Even more relevantly, the top 5 selling games of the current generation (and 7 of the top 10) are for the Wii. Amazingly enough, people don't buy video games just because they're told the games are the most technically advanced - they buy games because they're fun!

Re:More Halo love...
The Halo wiki has a list of a bunch of "vacations" you can take in Campaign mode to explore. Though, I think some of them are intentionally put there by Bungie knowing people will exploit every trick to try. Though, there are some that are kinda stupid and really just exploit the fact that once you're in Theatre mode, you have full access to the level and thus it's trivial to see every last bit by flying around. Though there are good ones available during play.
The nice thing in H3 is actually being able to get skulls at a mortal level of difficulty. I suck at games, but like Halo (and Half-Life), so the best I can do is Normal which I find can be
... difficult. Though I think Halo3 seems to be slightly easier - I finished the campaign the first time and going through getting skulls, I don't die so often.(I guess I've seen every Master Chief death animation already, though there are a few amusing ones like being thrown twirling halfway across the map).
