Oy, I hit submit before I added all the confirmed films:
Also worth noting is that the last I checked, Andrew Stanton was attached to John Carter of Mars, however it wasn't confirmed that Pixar/Disney would be distributing. There has been conflicting info on the matter, and it's ambiguous at the moment.

Re:djb
We need a 'djb' tag. Dan's been talking about, and working on this kind of thing for years.
If 'this kind of thing' means DNSCurve rather than DNSSEC then sure, you are dead on! But rather we can see that DNSCurve != DNSSEC. DJB is, as usual, thinking that his idea's are better than an entire consortium and I'm sure that we will see him continue to break RFC at his whim because he simply does not understand, he thinks that he is better than others or some magical being had tapped him on the shoulder. Maybe you should take a trip back in a TARDIS to last year?.

Re:You keep using that word...
Nothing about a GUI tool prevents componentised use. In fact, most modern GUIs support some sort of component system. Windows has COM/DCOM,OLE, KDE has DCOP/DBUS, GNOME has CORBA/DBUS, etc.
As for your claim that Visual Studio forces you to use one editor:

X is a disaster!
All the variouse WMs and DEs (I use Fluxbox personally) barely cover up the rough edges and sharp corners in the X brainfuck!

Re:When?
Do I have to go back to XMMS just because everyone's so fucking Web 2.0 now?
Check out Sonata (a UI for MPD). They work great.
In fact, the whole KDE4 thing looks like they want to deliberately lose every user who wants a simple, clean, responsive, effective UI. They overhyped the API changes so much, they forgot about the users. Why do you force me to use Fluxbox?
Nothing wrong with Fluxbox, but XFCE is a great "in-between" for KDE/GNOME and Fluxbox. More of an actual platform than just a window manager.
I've already given up on Azureus, they did the same thing with Vuze.
There is a setting somewhere in the config to turn that off. I can't remember what I did but my 'Vuze' looks and acts just like Azureus did.

Re:MMO***
Dude,
you're approaching to this in the worst way possible.
Firstly, all campaigns require 50 EUR (or less, if you buy with discount). Why buy unlock packs when you can have everything you need for slightly more (or less, with discounts) along with all campaign content?
Secondly, to unlock 8 specific skills, you need, in the worst scenario, 10K points in Balthasar faction. This is an hour of enjoyable Jade Quarry play. You don't need to unlock all skills, merely those you wish to use.
Thirdly, for guidance and support of community, there are two important sites to get your started (and save from some common mistakes):

Re:Gaming the system
The key is to sandbox it heavily. For example don't let the players design their own attacks, but limit them to 8 skills at a time and if the skills are balanced well there's a mind boggling variety of possibilities.
Or get rid of the global ranking altogether. There are tens of thousands of custom counter-strike maps but who cares if people make abusive maps? Your ranking is determined by your skill; if you're good then you'll almost always be at the top of the scoreboard getting whatever pleasure pulls in MMO addicts. And if you play achievement servers all day then you simply won't be good enough to top a scoreboard; abuse does nothing. This kind of skill-based stratification is possible in MMOs too.. again Guild Wars proved it's possible, so where's the followup? 90% of active Guild Wars characters are at the level cap and probably a good 50% have beaten enough to have competitive options for PvP combat or finishing the rest of the games. Almost everyone is on an even level technically so the "ranking" is just how good you are. And for those who haven't beaten it, many missions are completely impossible without a full team of skilled players and you usually have to play through it a few times to get a tactical idea of where you fit in.
So give me an MMO with a low level cap. Everyone has exactly the same number by their name and the same possibilities for stat building, so there's no epeen waving and no reason to abuse the system. If players want to sit around all day playing farming missions then I guess they're having fun and it's fine because their little number isn't moving. Of course it always comes down to EPIC GEAR that (even in guild wars) takes at least like a thousand hours of farming, but you can just make user generated content not eligible for those items. -

Re:encrypted password file
I'm sure there are 1000 "password wallet" applications out there that will do all this for your grandmother. I haven't looked. (kwalletmanager?) And I'm too paranoid to use them anyway. And I configured vim to automatically decrypt/encrypt files when I edit them. While I'm at it, here's the perl script. This is a solution for me, not your grandmother. But the principle can transfer.
If there *isn't* some suitable password manager for your grandmother, why not write one? As Scheier says, passwords are dead.
My bank asks these stupid questions. I think it's the only instance where I actually recorded my gibberish answers to such questions.

Re:An Example
I *did* do the research. I *did* see Carbon Copy Cloner. If you'd like to call me an idiot for not being able to get it to successfully image the machine, then you might have a case there, because I was not able to successfully get it to work. I do not blame Apple for that, and I don't necessarily blame the writer of CCC, either. I don't consider NTFS an open standard by any stretch of the imagination. But you mention a free app that enables read/write support on NTFS volumes. I'll keep that in mind if such an issue comes up again. However, why isn't HFS+ at least read-only in Windows? I'm sure that's Microsoft's fault... Does Time Machine work over a LAN? I did look at it, and wasn't able to get it to do so. By time I tethered the drive to the computer, it was already unable to start up. I don't claim to know everything. My argument wasn't saying that Apple is an inferior product, or that it's necessarily Apple's fault for Acronis and Ghost not working on their platform. The question was posed as to whether there was something that took longer to do on a Mac than a PC. I shared an experience. If you'd like to consider me an inferior IT consultant for not knowing how to image a Mac (as it's the first Mac I'm responsible for and am doing alot of learning of the platform in many other respects), then fine. You would be correct in that regard. But calling me a *liar*, as in being intentionally untruthful? I think that's a bit harsh.
I (partially) retract my statement about CCC. I have no idea why you couldn't get it to image your drive. Perhaps it is because you tried AFTER the HD started failing, eh?
You call yourself an "IT consultant", and YET you didn't arrange for a BACKUP system (especially since there is one BUILT IN to the OS!!!). Did you really think that Apple has some magical power over Hard Drive reliabilty? As you yourself pointed out, a Western Digital drive is, afterall, a Western Digital drive. And worse yet, a LAPTOP drive, which are notoriously short-lived (although yours was obviously defective, or subjected to the "drop test" that your Pastor didn't tell you about, or that you didn't want the world to know about...)
And yet, you didn't arrange for a backup BEFORE disaster struck.
Your failing has nothing to do with Apple; you simply need to hand in your Geek badge. Thanks for playing!
As you would know if you had bothered to read even the feature page regarding Time Machine, it is designed to work with a DIRECTLY-CONNECTED external Hard Drive. What you are wanting is an Apple product called "Time Capsule", which provides both an Airport Base Station (with print server support), and wired and wireless Time Machine backup services for EVERY Mac on your LAN. Of course you wouldn't know about it, since it's right there under the "Mac" tab of Apple's site...
And despite your belated (and disingenuous) protestations of "Not saying that Apple is an inferior product", the the tone of your entire original comment beLIES that statement. So my original "Liar" epithet, though admittedly harsh, applies now more than ever; because you have now lied FURTHER to cover your previous LIES.
But I expect nothing less from someone who believes in the FSM...

Re:This should be a lesson...
Because after all, we know that words only have one meaning, so if someone uses the word "hacker" one way, it must mean the same thing as when everyone uses the word hacker.
I think everybody in the Linux and MS-DOS-prompt community knows what a hacker is. However, I will supply you with a formal definition:
According to Eric S. Raymond, a confirmed higher deity and the mastermind behind the geek unification conspiracy, hackers are a group of neo-pagan, anarchist, smelly, arrogant, gun nuts and highly intelligent bastards who wish to establish an intellectual junta, which will be known as The Irate Rand-worshiping Anarchist THC-growing E-lliance, or IRATE.

Re:Nice, but who cares?
Considering that roughly 700,000 game-only handhelds have been sold every month so far this year, I'd argue that, yes, gaming handhelds are very much still relevant.
You're assuming people have exactly one device for every abstract desire they have. Unscientific inspection generally shows that not to be the case -- among my friends with gaming-capable smartphones and DS/PSPs, the breakdown is something like this:
12% have only cool phone
25% have only DS/PSP
63% have bothAnd many of those who own a DS also own a PSP.
Also, 100% of my friends who own a Wii also own either an Xbox 360 or a PS3.
People tend to have devices with overlapping functions. Otherwise, there would still be a market for smartphones without cameras in them.

Re:DRM for DVD is bad... DRM from network is evil.
2 possibilities:
- if your computer is connected to the Internet, as your serial is stored somewhere in the config files, the activation takes place in the background. You don't see it, but it still there and the authorization key refreshed.
- Stardock also usually release the first versions of their products DRM-free or with an optional activation (which is great). And it's only after a certain patch level or extra content is applied that activation becomes mandatory.
Unfortunately, like any DRM vendor, they are not very precise with how their product works. The most complete info I found was here. -

Wah! Wah! Its not fair!!!"You can't own property man!" - Free Waterfall Jr.
Ahh the rallying cry of those who want to freeload off someone else's hard work.Seriously though, this guy is an idiot. In a broad sense he is all for "freedom" as long as that freedom isn't in the hands of the original developers. As things stand those developing original software have lots of choices in how they send their creation out into the world. They can choose what to do with the source - There's closed source, open source, there's the various open source licences. Same with name they can choose to TM the name or not. And if they do choose to TM it then they can still choose to let people use it. Where's the problem?
From reading TFA it sounds like the guy got his wrists lightly slapped over slapping Ubuntu branding everywhere and now has his panties in a serious bunch. Since when were cry-babies like this news?!?

Re:Frankly, I was disappointed
Later explanation to the midichlorians is crappy quick quasi-science. Midichlorians themselves are just a plot device Lucas pulled out of his unimaginative ass.
Lets face it already - the guy is a hack who got lucky with 3 things: Star Wars, being friends with an actual "genius director-producer" like Spielberg and stumbling onto Harrison Ford.Naming used for the technology is a good hint that someone during the writing process actually said "Hey, hold on for a second. How exactly would this thing work?".
That is why Star Wars ships have "reactors" which is about as descriptive as "engine", and Star Trek ships has a "warp core", which... ok... let me quote this:On Federation starships, the warp core usually consists of a matter/antimatter reaction assembly (M/ARA) utilizing deuterium and antideuterium reacting in a crystal matrix which produces a maximum output of 4,000 teradynes per second. (VOY: "Drone") Lithium crystals were used until sometime between 2265 and 2266 when they were replaced with dilithium crystals.
Also... "Blasters" and "phasers" - can you guess just from their names which one has multiple modes of firing and which one just shoots?
