ok, then lets say Navetq Telenav is a budding monopoly funded by the companies you mentioned.

If I try to raise money in the "Nav" business and get asked "does Google do it", then yes, Google is a monopoly or is nearing a monopoly".

So I have to play the "trusted source" card, eg, playing on the current "who do you trust" card in play.

Then, I may be allowed to Stay a while in the Nav business.

I love you man, but look at the big picture. It's illegal, so it will have enforcement. The best you can hope for is enforcement-theater. So if you have some new cool technology to get around this, doll it out as slowly as possible. IMHO, Amazon will do the best job at enforcement. They now only charge $3 for any movie. Not worth pirating any more, but still there, keeping the giants in check.

This is bogus. As others have said, "DRM done right doesn't get in the way". I don't see how anyone can build any software without DRM. Sure, I love Open Source, but businesses need stuff that works the way they want. We want to pay some money, have lots of competition and plan our businesses. I publish all kinds of free stuff, I pirate [some] movies, but I understand the balance here and don't advocate Anarchy (no DRM, steal everything) mentality.

Generic Torrents, cool name.
They are enjoying "thumbing their nose at it all". I get it, live fast, die young.
But
I don't know why they don't go full bore.
For example, why not charge a little money for downloading, and donate it to starving kids somewhere.

In medicine, the words microgram and milligram are so confused with deadly consequences that they now use the word GAMMA to indicate a microgram.
This is why I advocate changing the words micro and milli to now be platypus and doorknob, hence they will say give me one platypusgram of epinephrine which isn't confusing.

The metric system doesn't "solve any problems". We would solve more problems by standardizing on ENGLISH worldwide, but no one advocates that. It is funny that we have tolerance for everything except the British system of measurement which relates the measurement to the industry, not a meaningless standard of 10.

I may be wrong (please please correct me), but I have never seen the source-code to any of the google-car. I can't find it on any DARPA-grand-challenge site either (taxpayer google-car beta).
